Chapter 48 Family

On Friday, the doctor said that Han Baozhu was recovering well and could be discharged from the hospital. So, Le Yao completed the discharge procedures for him and took him directly to Chang Le Garden.

"Lan'er, this house is so beautiful!" Liu Sujuan exclaimed in surprise as soon as she entered. "It must have cost a lot of money, right?"

"Mom, don't worry about that." Le Yao smiled and glanced at Liu Sujuan. "I've got my brother working to pay off my debts."

"Brother Han, whether our business empire can rise in the future depends entirely on you." Qiao Qiao smiled as well, "Don't worry, we won't treat you unfairly."

Le Yao then handed the house purchase contract to Han Xiangdong.

"This is..." Han Xiangdong was stunned when he opened it. "Lanlan, you..."

"Lanlan, what did you give your brother?" Liu Sujuan walked over.

“I bought a house for my brother, which is considered an advance on your salary. However, starting next month, there will be a mortgage of over a thousand yuan every month, which he will have to pay himself.”

Liu Sujuan and Han Baozhu couldn't help but exchange a glance, both seeing shock and relief in each other's eyes. They hadn't spoiled their daughter for nothing; a house in Xiling City was something that people like them, from humble backgrounds, might never be able to buy in their entire lives.

Of course, they were actually more happy that their daughter accepted them and didn't look down on them.

"Lanlan." Han Xiangdong's eyes were a little red. He knew his sister's feelings, but he couldn't say anything.

"Consider this an advance on your salary. You'll be working for me for the rest of your life. Hmph, you'd better do a good job, or I won't let you off the hook."

“If your brother is capable, then use him as much as you can, don’t hold back. He’s got plenty of strength. If you can’t do it well, just tell me, and I’ll give him a beating.” Liu Sujuan composed herself, glared at her son, and said, “Did you hear me?”

"I'll handle things like slapping my son," Han Baozhu said, suppressing his emotions. It was his daughter's way of showing affection; to be too polite would only create distance.

Le Yao made a face at Han Xiangdong, thinking, "These really are my parents."

Han Xiangdong sniffed: "Mom and Dad are right, Lan'er and Miss Qiao, don't stand on ceremony with me."

"Look, I've already called you Brother Han, and you still call me Miss Qiao?" Qiao Qiao pouted. "You don't treat me like family."

"No." Han Xiangdong hurriedly looked to Le Yao for help.

“Brother, Qiaoqiao is to me the same as you are to me, so you have to treat her the same way you treat me.”

"Little Sister Qiao".

"That's more like it. Remember, from now on, Lan'er is your older sister, and I'm your younger sister. We're family." Qiao Qiao smiled. "We are family!"

"Okay." Han Xiangdong nodded with a smile. It felt so good to suddenly have two younger sisters.

"Logging?" Han Baozhu frowned. "Why do you need to log? It's really tiring for a young girl like you. Let your brother do it."

Le Yao and Qiao Qiao couldn't help but exchange a glance, and then burst into laughter.

"Dad, they were speaking English." Han Xiangdong couldn't help but rub his forehead.

"Don't just spout nonsense." Liu Sujuan couldn't help but glare at the man.

"English, huh?" Han Baozhu realized he'd made a fool of himself and immediately laughed along. "I was just saying, where in Xiling City is there a lumberyard..."

Le Yao and Qiao Qiao laughed even more heartily.

After laughing, everyone worked together to prepare a sumptuous meal, which they enjoyed happily before Le Yao and Qiao Qiao left.
