The next day, Le Yao went to school to ask for leave. Originally, she just needed to submit a leave request to the counselor and get approval. However, unfortunately, she ran into Old Man Ma outside the counselor's office.
"Are you asking for leave?" Ma Lin looked at Le Yao with a smile.
"Okay." Le Yao nodded obediently. She didn't know why, but every time she saw this old man, she had a bad feeling.
"The baking club has been a bit lazy lately," Ma Lin said, his face darkening and his eyes full of accusation.
"No way!" Le Yao quickly retorted, "We have two events every month, and we've never missed one."
"I said lazy, and I mean lazy." Ma Lin glared arrogantly. You haven't missed any activities, but you've made fewer desserts, not even as many as you used to give me. I should have known better than to get this job. That way, we could have desserts every week. Now, we only get them once every two weeks.
"Fine, you're old and thick-skinned, whatever you say goes." Le Yao rolled her eyes cutely.
"What did you say?"
"It's nothing," Le Yao hurriedly replied loudly. "I was saying that you are a highly respected elder, and your words are worth two people's."
Ma Lin's lips twitched: "I know you're insulting me, but do you know that's an act of betraying your master and ancestors?"
"Is it that serious?" Le Yao said, both amused and exasperated. "Old man, can you just say what you want? Stop beating around the bush, it makes you seem so...low."
Ma Lin glared at her, but didn't seem to mind. He then coughed and said, "From now on, the baking club will have an event once a week."
"Okay, it's up to you. Can I ask for leave now?"
"You need me to approve your leave requests every time, so..."
"Why should I?" Yue Yao exclaimed.
"Just because I'm the principal," Ma Lin said smugly.
"You...you're ruthless." Le Yao pouted. "You just know how to bully me."
"Yeah, because you're easy to bully, haha..."
"I need to take the day off because of a cake."

"Deal." Le Yao said and turned to leave.
Where are you going?
"Let's go to the baking club and make a cake."
"Do it well, there's still time." Ma Lin coaxed Xiao Qu away.
Le Yao couldn't help but chuckle; this old man really was a glutton.
The baking club had all the necessary ingredients, so Leyao spent two hours making a cake and a pork floss roll, which she then took to the principal's office.
Ma Lin's eyes lit up immediately.
"Tell me, can I go and accept a bribe from you?" Le Yao put the signed leave slip into her pocket before looking at Ma Lin.
"Bribery? The amount isn't enough." Ma Lin shook his head, took a bite of the pork floss roll, and immediately squinted his eyes happily. "A hundred yuan for a single bribe? You think the disciplinary committee won't accept it? Besides, the case file I gave you wasn't cheap either. Why don't you go and turn yourself in for accepting a bribe too?"
Le Yao's lips twitched: "Old ginger is indeed spicier."
"Of course! You think you can compete with me? You're too green." Ma Lin smugly glared at Le Yao.
Le Yao gave a thumbs up: "I'm impressed. But let me tell you, now that you've eaten the pork floss roll, eat the cake later. Don't eat so much at once."
"You still want to tell me what to do?" Ma Lin glared.
"If you want me to send you new products every week from now on, you'll have to listen to me."
"Alright, you're so long-winded, you're almost as long-winded as an old woman." Ma Lin waved his hand impatiently.
Le Yao then left with a smile.
