Le Yao first went to the hospital to visit the injured bodyguard, and then went straight to Han Pengcheng's house.
Although it was already past 10 p.m., Han Pengcheng was still awake. He was applying an ice pack to his face when he heard someone knocking on the door. He was startled and initially thought Liao Hu had come again, so he pretended not to hear. But soon he received a message from Le Yao on his phone: Open the door.
She hurriedly went over and opened the door: "Second Sister, it's so late..."
Le Yao glanced at Han Pengcheng's swollen cheek, said nothing, and walked straight in, sitting down on the sofa: "You've got guts."
"What do you mean?" Han Pengcheng was a little confused.
"I'll give you a chance to explain, but only once." Le Yao looked at Han Pengcheng. "If you can't explain it clearly, you're over eighteen and can take legal responsibility. Harboring a criminal is also a crime punishable by imprisonment. Where is Liao Hu?"
"Liao Hu? He..." Han Pengcheng's eyes widened instantly, "He..."
“He’s always been wanted by the police.” Le Yao looked at Han Pengcheng. “You didn’t know that, did you? But today, he left from here, and then, he injured someone with a weapon…”
Han Pengcheng's face turned pale instantly, then tears fell down his face, and finally he simply started sobbing.
Le Yao didn't say anything, she just watched him cry.
Han Pengcheng cried for a while, then stopped because he felt less depressed.
"Stop crying? Then tell me." Le Yao's expression didn't change. She didn't have much affection for this younger brother; she only cared about him out of pity. "You've already wasted ten minutes. If you want to waste more time, then I'm sorry, I..."
"Second sister, don't be angry, I'll tell you everything." Han Pengcheng knew that he had no right to be coquettish or act spoiled in front of this woman, so he sniffed and told her about his affair with Liao Hu, even giving her the addresses of the places he rented.
Tao Qing hurriedly made phone calls to inform people to check these places.
"When you were protecting him, did you know he was a murderer?" Le Yao sneered. "Not to mention anything else, Han Guosheng was killed by him."
Han Pengcheng remained silent.
"Regardless of whether Liao Hu is your biological father or not, and regardless of how much of a scoundrel Han Guosheng is to me, that Han has been raising you like a precious gem for over a decade," Le Yao sneered. "And Liao Hu has tried to kill me several times..."
Han Pengcheng is now extremely frustrated.
“We’re not related by blood, and we have no feelings for each other. When you came to me, I only thought you hadn’t done anything truly evil, so I was willing to help you. But I never expected you to protect the person who wanted to kill me…” Le Yao said, standing up. “I even suspect that you’re planning to have him stab me in the back one day when I’m not on guard…”
"I can't, I really can't..."
“I’ve done everything I could for you.” Le Yao didn’t want to hear his explanation. “Because Liao Hu is involved in murder cases, and this time he was discovered leaving from here, I will tell the police the truth. As for the outcome, let’s see what the law says.” With that, she prepared to leave.
"Second Sister," Han Pengcheng called out hurriedly.
Le Yao stopped and turned around.
"I'm sorry, I...I was wrong..." Han Pengcheng cried again. "He said he would kill my mother if I didn't listen to him. I know my mother is bad, but she's still the mother who loves me..."
