“I…I’m fine…” Nangong Jue leaned against Le Yao. “Thank you for coming to see me.”
"Are you really alright?" Le Yao glanced at him sideways. "Then I'm leaving." She made a move to push him away.
"Something's wrong," Nangong Jue quickly changed his tune, "My wound hurts terribly."
Le Yao rolled her eyes: "Lie down, I'm going to get Young Master Fu."
"No need, it's just a little bleeding. He left some medicine, we can just change it." Nangong Jue hurriedly shook his head. If Fu Er really came back, wouldn't all his acting have been for nothing?
"Where are you?" Le Yao helped the person onto the bed to lie down.
"It's in the box on that table over there, the one in the white bottle."
Le Yao brought over the medicine and gauze, but looking at the injured area, she felt a little embarrassed: "This... are there any other men in the house?"
"Why are you looking for other men?" Nangong Jue frowned.
"It's inappropriate for me, a woman, to put medicine on your butt."
"You actually want other men to see my butt?" Nangong Jue exclaimed. "Han Binglan, you're so bad."
"I……"
"Let me tell you, only my wife can see my butt. Nobody else can see my butt. I'd rather die than let them..."
Le Yao: ...
Is this guy channeling his inner drama queen?
"Then where am I supposed to find you a wife?"
"You," Nangong Jue said matter-of-factly, "you apply the medicine for me."
“We’re divorced, we’re strangers now.” Le Yao rolled her eyes.
"That used to be legal, and you could do it until I found someone else."
“But I’m not willing.” Le Yao threw the medicine bottle onto the bed. “I want to remain chaste for my future husband. Since you’re not going to die anytime soon, I’ll be leaving now.”
Nangong Jue: ...
I feel like vomiting blood.
"We have an agreement that you can't refuse me when I need you."
Le Yao's lips twitched, and she stopped in her tracks as she was about to leave: "But..."
“But I need you to apply the medicine for me right now.” A smug glint flashed in Nangong Jue’s eyes. “This doesn’t violate the law or morality, you can’t refuse.”
“I…” Le Yao felt like a million alpacas were running through her mind.
In the end, Le Yao succumbed to Nangong Jue's scheme and resignedly tore off his pants. Then she roughly ripped off the bandages, and Nangong Jue let out a shrill scream. Although he quickly suppressed it, the sound still escaped.
Le Yao shuddered in fright. She had originally wanted to make fun of the other person, but when she saw the wound on the buttocks, she was speechless. There were no good spots on the two buttocks. Some places had scabbed over, but most of the places were still bloody and painful to look at.
"I just couldn't help it for a moment." Nangong Jue felt a little embarrassed. This injury wasn't really that painful for him, but he still acted coy to avoid sympathy.
"How did you get hurt?" Le Yao lifted his shirt again, only to find his entire body almost wrapped up like a mummy, with blood seeping through some of the gauze.
"Don't ask anymore."
"Because of me?"
Nangong Jue fell silent. If it were according to his previous personality, he would never have taken credit, but in order to win over his wife, he had no choice but to be shameless and play the victim.
"Why?" Le Yao had a vague guess in her heart, because she was buried under the collapsed old brick kiln, and there was a landslide above. How could an ordinary search and rescue team find her so quickly?
