"Look, there are... pictures on it," Yueyao exclaimed.
Nangong Jue looked over and said, "This is not a picture; it should be Mayan script."
"Mayan script?" Yue Yao was taken aback. "It's hieroglyphics, right? But who understands it?"
“I understand.” Princess Diana walked over, glanced at the writing on the stone, and then smiled. “I told you that blood ties would definitely create a connection. I’ve had people searching here for years, but we haven’t found any clues. But as soon as you came, we found a clue… It’s a good thing I didn’t kill you.”
Le Yao rolled her eyes, too lazy to pay her any attention.
Princess Dina didn't say what the Mayan text was about, but she happily directed people to go behind the rock and dig with shovels. Before long, someone exclaimed, "There's a way!"
Le Yao and Nangong Jue exchanged a glance, both feeling somewhat shocked. They had actually found the entrance! However, instead of moving forward, they quickly found some rocks to cover themselves and then hurried down the mountain.
There were sentries on guard at the back of the mountain, but strangely enough, they managed to get away from the mountainside without encountering any bodyguards or mercenaries.
Diana and the others were all focused on the entrance to the treasure vault, so no one paid any attention to the two of them.
The door was opened easily, and below was a black hole, the bottom of which was not visible at all; it was clearly quite deep.
For safety's sake, Diana didn't go down herself, wanting Leyao to go down first to scout ahead. However, when she turned around, she found that Leyao was gone, and immediately became angry: "Where is she?"
The bodyguards and mercenaries all shook their heads, because they really hadn't noticed.
"Find it!" Princess Diana roared.
“Your Highness,” a trusted aide spoke up, “they can’t escape without a ship. Now that we’ve found the entrance, I think we should open the treasure vault first.”
Princess Diana pondered for a moment, then nodded, thinking it made sense. "Then let's go down and take a look."
Using the rocks as cover, Le Yao and Nangong Jue quickly descended the mountain and found a relatively secluded place to hide.
"Where are the people from the back mountain?" Le Yao felt everything was going too smoothly.
“It’s already been taken care of.” Nangong Jue’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Who solved it?
Nangong Jue shook his head. Although he had sent Haisong his location, it would still take them some time to get there, so it was clearly not their doing.
“I think they’re definitely here to help us.” Le Yao squeezed Nangong Jue’s hand. “Ever since the plot collapsed, you and I have become the male and female leads. Protagonists always have a halo, so we’ll be fine.”
Nangong Jue smiled. Although he didn't refute it, to be honest, deep down he couldn't accept the idea that they were two-dimensional characters. However, he agreed with the idea that the male and female protagonists were the main characters. He was in control of his own life and destiny, and he had always been his own male protagonist.
And the woman beside him is his leading lady.
The sky gradually darkened.
Diana's people haven't come looking for her, clearly they're held up by the treasure vault.
"Do you think that treasure vault might be full of gold and silver jewels?" Le Yao nudged Nangong Jue. "Or maybe it's all gold bars..."
"Hehe." Nangong Jue chuckled. "Maybe. How about we go back and take a look?"
