Chapter 103 Receiving the Award

The party was just as lively here.

Jiang Tong arrived at the awards ceremony with her friends and found her seat.

Everyone turned to watch the spectacle.

It truly is a gathering of stars.

The little fox was quite excited. She whispered, "Oh my god, do you think it's okay if I go and ask for a photo?"

Bai Ge laughed and said, "What's wrong with being ambitious?"

The owl chuckled, "I saw my girlfriend's favorite celebrity too. I'll ask him for an autograph later."

They were quite happy.

Jiang Tong doesn't have a favorite celebrity, so she's fine; she's just nervous about going on stage to accept her award.

Phoenix, however, said with a disdainful look, "Are you ever going to stop? Aren't you ashamed? It's just an awards ceremony, why are you all acting like this?"

This immediately disgusted everyone.

The boss reminded Phoenix to be careful, "Control your temper, there are cameras everywhere."

Upon hearing this, Phoenix immediately sat up straight and resumed his pretentious demeanor.

The little foxes all rolled their eyes.

Speechless.

Phoenix couldn't suppress her competitive spirit at all. She looked around, paying special attention to the clothes and jewelry worn by these people.

She kept talking and explaining to the people in her company, "You guys don't understand, do you? These are all high-end brands. Many celebrities have to beg and plead to borrow them to wear. They're not something ordinary people can afford."

Little Fox and his friends just pursed their lips. They had all ordered their own formal wear. If they became somewhat famous in the art world, they wouldn't be too poor.

The jewelry is also the more expensive kind.

But it can't compare to the top luxury brands.

Phoenix, halfway through her sentence, finally spared Jiang Tong a glance. Pretending not to care, she finally asked, "Jiang Tong? Is that your name? Where did you get that jewelry? Did you borrow it? This brand of jewelry starts at six figures. You're quite capable to be able to wear jewelry of this level."

She said this as if the jewelry set was alright.

Little Fox was about to drink her mineral water when she almost spat it out. Her current jewelry set only cost around 50,000 to 60,000 yuan, but Phoenix said Jiang Tong's jewelry starts at six figures?!

"What? Jiang Jiang, your jewelry starts at six figures? My goodness!"

If Little Fox hadn't been worried about being outside, she really would have asked if she wasn't afraid of losing it.

Jiang Tong was taken aback. She looked down and saw that this set of jewelry was one of the gifts from Zhou Yuansheng's mother. The blood-red gemstone was beautiful, but not very large, making it relatively understated. The earrings also featured gemstones from the same series.

She had no idea how much it cost.

To avoid putting her under any psychological burden, Mrs. Zhou did not give her the receipts or vouchers.

Starting at six figures...

Jiang Tong replied perfunctorily to Phoenix, "Oh, I borrowed it. I didn't know it was so valuable."

She knew that Phoenix was an extremely vain person, and being targeted by her was really annoying. Jiang Tong didn't like to show off, so she just gave a perfunctory answer.

Sure enough, Phoenix began to gloat, "I knew it! How could you possibly afford jewelry from this brand? With that kind of money, you could open your own studio. Why would you condescend to come here?"

As she spoke, she fiddled with her necklace, saying, "I bought this one with real gold and silver; it cost almost seven figures."

The little fox, the white dove, and the owl were speechless; they really loved to show off.

Jiang Tong responded to Phoenix with an attitude of "yes, yes, you're right." Her mind was divided in two: one half was on Zhou Yuansheng and the three kids, and the other half was on her upcoming award ceremony. She had no time to chat with Phoenix.

The eldest brother was so embarrassed by Phoenix's childish, elementary school-like behavior that he almost dug a magic castle out of his toes. This boasting was just too awkward.

The little foxes and the others stopped paying attention to Phoenix; she got bored and quieted down.

When it's almost time...

The famous host went on stage to go through the procedures, and the scene instantly quieted down.

Suddenly, the little fox beside her gossiped, "I wonder if CEO Zhou is coming tonight? His company has had a few hit dramas this year, right? If I could see CEO Zhou in person, I would have no regrets!"

Bai Ge couldn't help but whisper, "Holy crap, if it's true, I'll be so excited! You know, this guy's looks are off the charts, they wouldn't even dare to build him like that! I heard he's even more handsome in person than in the photos! It's amazing how much Nuwa (the goddess of mythology) favors him! It's incredible!"

The owl guy also sighed, "If I could get a picture of Mr. Zhou, my girlfriend would probably stop being angry immediately and then chat with me for three days and three nights..."

He also said it would be great if Mr. Zhou could come.

Phoenix scoffed, "Young Master Zhou is very busy, okay? What's this kind of awards ceremony to him? Just showing his face is already giving the organizers a lot of face. I heard that Young Master Zhou's schedule doesn't include this place tonight."

The boss, who was having a headache, promptly told them to stop whispering, because the cameras were now being filmed in their direction. Although they were sitting towards the back, they were still bound to be caught on camera, so it was best to keep quiet.

Everyone quieted down.

Jiang Tong was extremely anxious. How could she not know that Zhou Yuansheng might also be attending the awards ceremony tonight?!

However, she never heard him mention it.

Zhou Yuansheng shouldn't be coming, and thinking this made her feel much more at ease.

The phone then vibrated a few times.

Jiang Tong had already muted her phone, but she had put it on vibrate. She glanced down at the messages.

The three kids sent her a bunch of random photos and short videos.

She glanced at it.
