Chapter 20 I owe him a favor

Favors are hard to repay.

She dared not owe him any more.

After Jiang Tong's checkup revealed nothing wrong, she breathed a sigh of relief. However, Zhou Yuansheng suggested she see a psychologist when she had time, saying, "I feel you have some psychological trauma, and you should face it."

She was surprised by his directness, but she didn't dislike it.

Jiang Tong expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you, I will." She knew what she was doing.

Zhou Yuansheng did not say anything more.

Afterwards, Jiang Tong went to the police station. Because there was surveillance footage, Xu Huaiyuan was given a verbal warning and detained for three days. He was also required to pay Jiang Tong's medical examination fees before being released. Jiang Tong felt a great sense of relief.

I just accidentally incurred a favor, and I'll have to find a way to repay it next time.

Throughout the ordeal, Xu Huaiyuan kept staring at Jiang Tong with a gloomy expression. Jiang Tong wasn't afraid of him and only felt relieved after watching him being arrested by the police.

Jiang Tong came out after finishing her statement, but she didn't expect Zhou Yuansheng to have stayed with her the whole time. She told him that he could leave if he had something to do, but he said that he had nothing to do.

I never expected the other person to be such a nice person.

After arriving at the residential area, Jiang Tong expressed her gratitude again before leaving. Zhou Yuansheng smiled and said it was nothing. After that, they went their separate ways.

On the night Xu Huaiyuan was detained, Wang Chungui finally saw the message her son had sent her. She went to get the clothes and delivered them to him. Afterwards, she also called Jiang Tong, knowing that her number had been blocked, and borrowed it specifically.

Wang Chungui was about to curse when Jiang Tong hung up on her as soon as she heard her voice, leaving her furious and with nowhere to vent her anger. She then went to her parents to complain.

That evening, Jiang Tong received a call from her father, who immediately brought up the matter. She quickly retorted, "Dad, I know what you're going to say without you having to, but before that, I think you shouldn't jump to conclusions. Listen to what I have to say first before you decide whether to criticize me."

She briefly explained what had happened, and her father naturally understood. However, he still said, "If you hadn't gotten a divorce, would you have caused so much trouble? You were living a good life, and now that someone else has remarried, you're nothing! Do you think remarrying is such an easy thing?"

Jiang Tong frowned immediately and said firmly, "Then I won't get married! I'm not thinking that far ahead right now, and it's impossible for me to remarry right away!"

If all else fails, I'll just stay with my daughter; she's not considering marriage for now.

Mr. Jiang was so angry that he hung up the phone. For a traditionalist like him, his daughter's divorce was a huge loss of face. Moreover, he had never expected his eldest daughter, who had always been so obedient, to suddenly become so rebellious.

This was a provocation against him as the head of the family. He only wanted his wife and children to follow his ideas and didn't care about what others really thought.

Jiang Tong had long seen through this hypocritical father and couldn't be bothered with him anymore. Let him be angry if he wants; all she wanted now was to live her own life well.

Jiang Tong's mother couldn't help but shed tears, sending her many messages, worried about what she would do now and how she would live in the future.

"Mom, I'm doing great now, really. I've never been this relaxed since I got married. Hanhan is doing well too. I suggest you just block Xu Huaiyuan and his family. Don't worry about anything else."

Jiang Tong sent two messages earnestly, and in the end, her mother could only sigh and agree, because she also realized that her daughter was indeed a mature and independent individual, and could no longer listen to her father's arrangements, and had her own ideas.

After sorting out the mess at her parents' house, Jiang Tong finally lay down on the rocking chair on the balcony to catch her breath. She really had to be tough enough to make life easier.

After this incident...

Jiang Tong stopped going to the mall she used to frequent and switched to another one. Xu Huaiyuan also stopped bothering her for the time being.

Life does become much easier after getting away from my scumbag ex-husband.

I only find out about Peipei's recent situation from time to time by asking her friend Yu Yaoqian.

After Hanhan started kindergarten, she made some new friends. Although she was still a bit aloof, she was much better than before.

Zhou Jiaqi is still very attached to Hanhan, and just as attached to Jiang Tong as Hanhan is to Jiang Tong. When his father is busy, he will come to Jiang Tong's place to stay. Jiang Tong naturally welcomes him, not to mention that she still owes his father a favor.

Zhou Yuansheng felt very comfortable leaving his son with Jiang Tong. Even he himself would occasionally come over for a meal, as if it were a normal thing.

The two families have a good relationship.

That day, Jiang Tong was making rice balls. The children were preparing for a picnic, and the mothers would prepare food for the picnic, and she was no exception.

The rice balls are made in two kinds: one with delicious tuna filling and the other with luncheon meat, corn, cucumber, and carrot filling, all wrapped in seaweed.

Of course, homemade ones have more ingredients.

In addition, I made some homemade cookies and small cakes.

Finally, prepare two boxes of fruit.

Watermelon, papaya, cantaloupe, even apples are cut into the shape of little rabbits, and then some cherries and grapes are added.

Just grab some random snacks like jelly and potato chips, and you're all set.

A whole backpack full.

The drinks were two large cans of homemade mango pomelo sago, which wasn't very thick.

Hanhan was finishing her little cards to give to her good friends. She ran over to give the first one she finished to Jiang Tong.

Jiang Tong looked down and laughed. Hanhan had drawn a small house and a garden, and then there were two little figures inside, clearly a mother and daughter.

"Thank you, Hanhan. Mommy will treasure it carefully. Hanhan's drawing is very good."

Hanhan smiled shyly and happily ran back to continue. She loved to draw on the coffee table in the living room, so Jiang Tong bought a rug to prevent the child from kneeling on the floor to draw.

This little home has become even warmer as people have lived here longer.

On the day of departure.

Jiang Tong waited for Zhou Jiaqi. Zhou Yuansheng had told her beforehand that he might not be able to make it, so he asked her to help him.

The children were a little unhappy.

Zhou Jiaqi smiled slightly when he saw Hanhan. The old butler followed behind, wiping his sweat. He smiled ingratiatingly at Jiang Tong and said, "Oh dear, we're troubling you again, Madam! The young master doesn't want us to come along, saying it would be strange for us to come."

So she could only trouble Jiang Tong. However, Zhou Jiaqi's picnic supplies would be delivered to him by servants, so Jiang Tong didn't need to take on any extra burdens like food. She only needed to bring Zhou Jiaqi with her.

Even the old butler couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed, thinking that his young master was really shameless. Madam Jiang was neither a servant nor a relative of the Zhou family, yet he could so naturally ask her to help take care of the child.

It just means he has a good temper.

The old butler kept forcing a smile and making small talk, but he was very uneasy inside.

Jiang Tong reached out and touched Zhou Jiaqi's chubby cheeks. The little guy wasn't very happy today either, but it was understandable.

She smiled and said, "It's nothing, it's good that the two kids are together, they'll keep each other company."

The old butler feigned tears of gratitude, wiping away imaginary tears with a small handkerchief, and said, "You are truly beautiful inside and out!"

Jiang Tong felt a little embarrassed. This old butler was really dramatic, but he was also kind of cute. She couldn't help but laugh.
