At least now in this family, it's as if Dad and Mom are there, and both children subconsciously feel that what was missing has been filled.
Everyone had a great time enjoying the lively evening. Jiang Tong and Zhou Yuansheng even played the board game Monopoly with the children. In the end, Zhou Yuansheng, the "cunning businessman," made the most money, followed by Peipei, that clever little girl.
The children were still reluctant to leave and didn't want to go to sleep. Zhou Jiaqi left some clothes at Jiang Tong's place because when Zhou Yuansheng went on a business trip before, the little guy stayed here and ate and slept with Hanhan and Peipei.
After taking each child to bathe, they were all put to bed.
If Zhou Jiaqi were here, all three kids would definitely sleep in the big bed with Jiang Tong, but tonight they'll sleep in first, and the adults will stay up a little later.
After Jiang Tong closed the door, she saw Zhou Yuansheng collecting Monopoly props by himself, with the table covered in all sorts of children's toys.
She joined in to help tidy up, and the two of them finished quickly. After they were done, they sat on the carpet and watched the snow falling softly on the balcony.
Zhou Yuansheng suddenly spoke up with a smile: "Can I stay and sleep in the living room tonight?"
He really didn't think much of it.
But this lively night was in his cozy little home, which he had always dreamed of. Even his child was sound asleep. How lonely would he be to go back to his cold, empty apartment in the wind and snow? It would be too painful.
This sense of disparity is too hard to accept.
So he made this somewhat impolite request with a bit of trepidation.
But Jiang Tong remained warm and understanding. She smiled and said, "If you want to stay, then stay. My place is well-heated, the sofa can be laid flat as a bed, the carpet area is spacious, and there are new pillows too. Everything is complete."
She loves to hoard things, so she keeps a lot of spare items at home.
