Chapter 48 Double Happiness

After staying at the company until the end of the workday, Jiang Tong parted ways with her colleagues amicably and went to the underground parking garage to get her car, while Little Fox and the others went to eat skewers.

She drove out of the underground parking garage and drove steadily towards home when her phone suddenly notified her of an incoming call. It was Zhou Yuansheng saying he was going to pick up the children.

Jiang Tong smiled and agreed, and since they were driving, they didn't chat much.

After hanging up.

As Jiang Tong drove, watching the hurried pedestrians, she felt a sense of peace. The spiritual satisfaction brought by this stable life was something she hadn't experienced in many years.

Meanwhile, things weren't so good at the Xu family's place. Another fierce argument had just broken out in their home, and Xu Huaiyuan had driven the two elders into their room, where they dared not utter a sound.

Xu Huaiyuan sat silently on the sofa, smoking cigarettes continuously.

Ke Rou never imagined that her marriage would turn her life into such a mess. Her voice was hoarse from shouting, and her face was covered in tears. "Your whole family are liars!!! You lied to me, Xu Huaiyuan!!"

If she didn't love him, would she have been willing to let her parents lend him money for working capital?

She never expected the problem to be so much bigger than she imagined, making her afraid to tell her parents, yet tormented by guilt towards them.

Xu Huaiyuan looked exhausted. He said to Ke Rou with feigned concern, "Please, I'm begging you. I really didn't know it would turn out like this. Before, because of the broken cash flow, I lost the trust of my partners. That's why they stopped supplying me with goods, which made it impossible for me to finish my orders. I'm already trying my best to persuade them to make amends, and things will be better soon."

He said to Ke Rou, "It's really not as serious as you think, but I really can't come up with the money your parents lent me for investment right now. It's already been put into production. Don't you really trust me?"

Looking at his gentle and refined appearance, Ke Rou couldn't help but be moved again. She really liked this kind of down-to-earth and mature man, which was why she impulsively married him. But she was really afraid that she would never get the money back.

Seeing that she was somewhat moved, Xu Huaiyuan immediately stepped forward, hugged her, kissed her face, and coaxed her in a fake manner: "Don't worry, baby, trust me, I will repay your parents double, at the latest by next spring."

Ke Rou was at her wit's end. She had already made a scene so many times, and she just hoped that he would really return the money to her parents. Finally, she gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, then I'll trust you one more time! If he doesn't return it by next spring, we'll get a divorce!"

As she spoke, she pushed Xu Huaiyuan away, "And another thing! Send your parents away! Or move into the house that came with my dowry! I've really had enough of your parents!"

After saying that, Ke Rou turned around and walked out of the house, saying that she wanted to go back to her own house.

Xu Huaiyuan had no choice but to chase after her. Naturally, he didn't want to stay at the woman's house, as it would hurt his pride as a man and wouldn't sound good if word got out. So he could only desperately try to persuade Ke Rou.

This is absolutely a headache.

Once the living room was quiet again, the elderly couple, who had been hiding like cockroaches, finally came out.

Looking at the messy living room, Wang Chungui suddenly sat down on the floor, slapping her thigh and wailing, "My God! How could she treat me like this? I'm so old, and I still have to put up with this! What kind of daughter-in-law is so arrogant? She's always bullying two old people like us..."

Her face was covered in snot and tears; she was truly heartbroken looking at the messy house.

Xu Shengfu was also so angry he could hardly breathe. Clutching his chest, he sat on the sofa to catch his breath. His hoarse old voice rasped, "Look, look, cough cough cough! What a mess this once happy family has become! It's utterly shameful!!!"

He was so angry that he kept coughing.

Thinking back to how cozy this place used to be, and then thinking about how messy it is now, makes me realize how much more important it is.

It's truly heartbreaking.

Before the divorce, the house was clean and tidy, life was peaceful and stable, and the children were lively and lovely. It seemed like a happy place, but now it's all gone.

But the two elders were completely unaware that this was all a facade of happiness that Jiang Tong had sacrificed herself for; the whole family was happy, but she was not.

Now that Jiang Tong has let go of her past, she is happy, while they will suffer the consequences.

Wang Chungui was still wailing. She lay on the sofa, sobbing, and said, "My Peipei is ignoring me too. How can this child be so heartless, just like her mother? I should have known better than to be so good to her!"

She was so angry she almost vomited blood.

The original plan was to send Peipei to Jiang Tong's side as an undercover agent, so that she could occasionally send back stories about Jiang Tong's suffering after her divorce to amuse her.

But Peipei said that everything was great at her mother's house, with delicious food and fun activities. She also went to a new kindergarten, where she had snacks every day and delicious dinner.

She also often plays games with her mother and sister, and goes to parks or amusement parks.

Wang Chungui was so jealous she was unrecognizable, her heart ached and her whole body felt uncomfortable. She questioned Peipei, "Why aren't you throwing a tantrum? Wasn't she very spoiled and loved to make a fuss at home? Didn't she say that her mother often scolded her and that she hated it?"

Why are you so close now?

During the last period when Peipei was still in contact with her, she even turned around and lectured her grandmother, saying, "Grandma, this is not right. Humph, if you keep doing this, Peipei will not talk to you anymore. The teacher said that good children do not cry for no reason. Only stupid children who cannot find a way to express themselves use crying."

Wang Chungui was stunned. Peipei even said that hitting people was wrong, that it was bad for her grandmother to tell her to hit people, and that Wang Chungui should apologize to her mother.

Otherwise, Peipei will stop paying attention to her grandma.

Wang Chungui was almost driven mad by Peipei and couldn't help but yell at her a few times. After that, Peipei ignored her.

She felt like she was about to vomit blood.
