Chapter 13 Chapter 13 Everyone has a hard life...

We are all ordinary people living a hard life. If we know one or two powerful friends, we might be able to help.

And judging by how they usually get along, they should have a very good relationship.

The store manager was worried that Jin Man didn't understand the human relationship, so he told him: "He's so rich, you should treat him to a few meals, buy him some cigarettes and alcohol to improve his relationship, just in case he needs it in the future."

Jin Man lowered his head and slowly wiped the bar. A stubborn look appeared on the back of his head. After a while, he blurted out, "I don't want it."

The store manager scolded him: "You piece of shit, I just asked you to build a good relationship, not to beg him."

Jin Man raised his head and said, "Begging is like owing something. I won't starve to death."

The store manager said, "You, you, you! Is not starving to death a great criterion? You'll need so many things to establish yourself in society in the future."

Jin Man pursed his lips and said nothing, but it was obvious that he didn't hear anything. The store manager sighed and grumbled beside him, but there was no way to force him. He still went to work and did his job.

The milk tea shop's business has always been good, with new takeout orders often coming in, and usually several employees take turns delivering them.

It rains a lot in summer, and people who are exposed to rainy days complain bitterly.

Not only is it raining today, but there are also a lot of takeout orders. Some people ordered a bunch of snacks and lemonade. The beta named Bai Ning started to feel timid just by looking at the huge takeout box.

He tried several times and pushed his bicycle out, but a gust of wind suddenly blew and blew him and the bicycle down.

The thin figure stood alone in the cold wind, the rain seeping into the torn raincoat, and soon the man was frozen to the point of turning pale.

It has been so hard lately. I work seven or eight hours straight a day without being able to sit down and rest, and then there are still a lot of housework to do when I get home.

My parents are partial to me and never treat me well. I have to pay my salary to the household expenses on time, otherwise I will be kicked out. I have never been able to save any money.

He was unwilling to give up and tried hard to make his life better, but he always ran into bad luck of one kind or another.

Poverty is like a huge bottomless pit. I am like a mouse that wants to get out of the bottomless pit, but no matter how I climb, I can only fall deeper and deeper into the abyss.

"It's raining too hard. Let's wait a while before sending it."

Someone grabbed his crooked bridle and brought the shivering Bai Ning back from the rain.

“But…but…”

Those takeouts that are overdue will most likely be returned, and you won’t be able to pay for them anyway.

"Your health is the most important thing. You look very bad. Go to the hospital."

Jin Man took a cup of hot water and forcefully stuffed it into Bai Ning's hand. Bai Ning shook his head desperately, his fingers trembling: "No, I'll go deliver it first and then rest. You're off work already, so go ahead and don't worry about me."

He tried to shake the water out of his raincoat, and was then forced to sit down by Jin Man. He was shivering all over. The hand on his shoulder was warm and broad, clearly trying to stop him. These things, which he had been used to supporting himself, suddenly became a little sad.

I really want to have a family and have lots of money that I can never spend.

But I'm just an ordinary person struggling to make ends meet. If I had a little more confidence, I could have just said, "Life is more important than money, I want to quit!" But because life is poor and hard, I can't afford to waste a penny and can't just give up. At this time, no matter what I say, it won't work.

Jin Man also knew this. He thought for a while, took out his raincoat from the closet, put it on without saying a word, and went out.

Bai Ning jumped down from the chair: "Jin Man."

Jin Man put on his raincoat, held onto his bicycle, and easily stepped onto it: "I'll help you deliver this order, you go see the doctor."

He rode into the wind and rain without saying a word of comfort, nor did he show any tenderness from beginning to end. But Bai Ning wanted to cry. He stared at the figure until it disappeared, not even blinking.

The rain is getting heavier.

When Jin Man arrived at the destination, he was completely soaked. He casually wiped the rain from his cheeks and found that his fingers were frozen stiff.

He exhaled, rubbed his hands, leaned his bicycle outside the security booth, and looked up at the apartment.

He had been protecting the lunch box on the way, but he was delayed for too long, and although no rainwater seeped in, the snacks had already gone cold.

Jin Man was a little nervous when he knocked on the door. After a while, the door opened and the person who ordered the meal was a young man in his thirties. He was wearing a suit that looked like dried pickled mustard greens and had heavy dark circles under his eyes.

"Hello, I'm from the milk tea shop. Excuse me..."

He opened the bag, revealing a slightly damp paper lunch box. The man in the suit took a look at it, his lips trembling slightly. He looked very strange, strange and embarrassed.

"Why?"

The man in the suit twitched his lips, his eyes reddening unnaturally. "How can I eat it when it's completely cold?"

Jin Man wiped the rain off his face and said, "I'm sorry, it's raining so hard."

The next second, the bag of milk tea and snacks were all thrown away by the man. The fried wontons and curry sauce were spilled all over Jin, and the sauce dripped from the tip of his nose.

The man in the suit roared: "I've been hungry all day and just want a hot meal! I work every day, every day, I never get a break!"

He suddenly squatted down and burst into tears. It was hard to imagine that a person could cry so loudly because he had nothing to eat. A tenant nearby opened the door, took a look, and quickly closed it.

The corridor was filled with the smell of curry sauce, milk tea, and fried food.

Tick-tock.

The rain mixed with the sauce, turning into a dirty and disgusting color, fell from the wet raincoat, hit the ground, and spread out colorful oil stains with a hint of fantasy.

Jin Man stood there for a while, walked over to pick up the broken lunch box, found a broom from the end of the stairs, and cleaned up the stains.

He did these things completely on instinct, without thinking about anything, until he heard the whisper of "apology" behind him.

He turned around.

The man in the suit's eyes were incredibly red.

“This money…”

He counted out a wad of change from his pocket, paused, and then took out all the money and said tiredly: "Take the money and go."

Jin Man didn't answer him. He cleaned the corridor in silence, then asked, "Do you have any noodles at home?"

The man in the suit was stunned: "What?"

Jin Man pushed the door open and entered the house, turning on the light. There was no furniture around and the kitchen was empty.

He looked at the room for a while, then turned and went into the kitchen.

The man in the suit sat on the sofa in a daze. Not long after, the delivery man brought out a bowl of hot noodles sprinkled with a little chili powder and salt.

"Eat it," the delivery man said expressionlessly.

The man in the suit took the noodles sluggishly, his hands trembling as he held them. His tears fell into the noodles. As he ate, he suddenly said to Jin Man, "I'm sorry."

Jin Man said nothing. He stood up and went downstairs. The rain wasn't as heavy as before, and the misty sky looked like a stern face. The streetlights cast a gloomy glow on the leaves along the roadside. From the gray sky, countless glistening raindrops fell, fluttering against his eyelashes.

He closed his eyes slightly, as if he saw countless little stars twinkling on his eyelashes.

Jin Man got on his bike. The wind dispelled the smell of leftovers and was like a cold embrace, nestling against him in this silent summer night.

He pursed his lips, revealing the shallow dimples on his cheeks. He wanted to shout something, but no words came out.

He called Lu Yanlin and asked if he had time. Jin Man said, "I want to give you the money for the last housekeeping."

Lu Yanlin said softly, "It's just a small matter, don't worry too much."

Jin Man insisted: "It's not a small matter. Earning money is not easy. I won't feel at ease until I return it to you."

Lu Yanlin was silent for a moment, and finally, as if hesitant, gave him an address.

Jin Man rode towards the address. He didn't want to sleep or go home at all. He wished he could talk to someone, but who could he find?

After counting those friends carefully, they found that there seemed to be only one Lu Yanlin. He had read so many books and was so different from Jin Man. Perhaps he could tell him why he felt so uncomfortable.

He kept riding towards that place and came to an upscale residential area. He entered smoothly without encountering any obstructions.

There are many luxury cars parked outside the house, and the small garden in front of the house is full of flowers, which is as beautiful as a fairy tale.

Jin Man checked the address again and again and went forward to knock on the door.

The door opened quickly, but the person who opened it was not the young man he was familiar with, but a beautiful, unfamiliar foreign girl. She spoke in a language he couldn't understand. Jin Man stood there in a daze, forgetting what he should say.

He forgot that inside the house, the bright lights illuminated the beautiful furniture, and young men and women dressed very respectably and elegantly were talking and dancing together, and someone was playing the piano.

I’ve heard that expensive instrument on my phone, but hearing it live is a completely different thing.

There was that wonderful sound everywhere, like a magnificent dream.

Jin Man lowered his head. In the reflection of the water, his face looked so hurried. He was wearing wet clothes and a dirty raincoat, and the soles of his shoes were covered with mud and sand. The smell of leftovers that the wind had driven away came back again, wrapping him tightly.

The foreign girl finally uttered an awkward sentence in Chinese.

"Who are you looking for?"

Jin Man blinked, and raindrops fell from his eyelashes.

He was stunned for a while, then took out the folded money from his pocket, smiled at the girl and said, "I... am here to pay you back."

"Please give it to Lu Yanlin for me."

The girl understood: "Leave it to Lu?"

Jin Man nodded. He left without seeing Lu Yanlin.

The rain outside has completely stopped, and even though there is wind, it doesn't seem too cold.

Jin Man pushed the bicycle for a few steps, faster and faster, and finally he easily stepped on it and rode it swayingly.

Oftentimes, Jin Man would marvel at the magic of the world. Two people who were clearly very different from each other could remain friends for such a long time despite their different identities.

He didn't see Lu Yanlin, but he wasn't that unhappy. The wind that blew in lifted his large raincoat, making him feel like he was filled with wind.

He left those bright lights behind one by one, and crossed the winding road and the tangled wires.

As I rode out of the street, the bicycle bell rang, a light sound, like a chirping bird flying through the alley.

Jin Man returned to the rental house and took a shower first. While in the bathroom, he heard the phone ringing.

He was covered in foam and couldn't catch it.

After I finished washing, I was so hungry that I naturally forgot about the phone call.

He was halfway through cooking the noodles when there was a gentle knock on the door.

Jin Man went to open the door in his slippers. Lu Yanlin was standing at the door. They looked at each other and were both slightly stunned.

Alpha was wrapped in warm steam, like a freshly baked white rice cake, emitting a hint of pheromone. The ends of his hair were dripping with water, sliding into his collar. He slowly pursed his lips, revealing the dimples on his cheeks.
