“She’s helping herself.” Gao Yinxi looked directly into her adoptive father’s eyes. “She’s been secretly contacting our suppliers for kickbacks, putting her inexperienced relatives in key positions, and now she’s trying to mess with my membership system. Dad, can’t you see she’s using you?”

Gao Yanshu put down his phone at some point and turned to face Gao Yinxi.
Gao Yinxi covered her face with her hands, "Dad is unhappy."
She knew that the rift between her and her adoptive father might never be fully repaired.
"Oh, that's wonderful~" Gao Yanshu dragged out the words, her beautiful lips forming a crescent shape, and she even clapped her hands twice in agreement, her face full of schadenfreude. "He's unhappy, but I'm so happy."
"Well, you can't say that, he's still my father after all." Gao Yinxi picked up the thermos cup beside her, using the rising steam to hide the joy in her eyes.

She glanced at the blurry black and white images on the screen; she couldn't understand anything, but she just wanted to see them.
"Alright, you can wipe it clean now." Dr. Lin's words interrupted her thoughts.
Gao Yinxi straightened her clothes, took the examination report, and walked towards the doctor's office.
"Gao Yinxi," the nurse called her name.
Dr. Lin is the associate chief physician at the reproductive center. She is in her early forties and has sharp yet gentle eyes.
She took Yuqing's examination report and examined it carefully.
"The cyst hasn't worsened, but it hasn't improved significantly either," Dr. Lin said, adjusting his glasses. "Hormonal levels are still somewhat unstable."
Gao Yinxi gripped the strap of her bag tightly. "Dr. Lin, why can't I get pregnant? We've been having intercourse strictly according to my ovulation period, and my boyfriend's tests are all normal..."
Dr. Lin put down the test results and suddenly asked, "Have you been under a lot of work stress lately? How's your sleep?"
