The cold question helped Yun Xiaoran regain some of her composure.
"It was a gift from the Empress Dowager. She wished us a long and loving relationship, and many children and blessings. Brother Yunhan..."
She raised her arm to try and hook her arms around the man's neck, but the next moment she slumped onto the table and fell into a deep sleep.
The night grew deeper and deeper until the red candle burned out.
When Granny Li came in to bring water, she caught a glimpse of Mo Yunhan's outer robe hanging by the bed and his long boots that had been taken off in disarray. She pursed her lips and quietly slipped out, then walked over to Granny Gui and bowed.
"Thank you for your hard work, Granny. It's all done."
Granny Gui was quite old and very tired at the moment, so she nodded upon hearing this.
"In that case, I can go back and report."
She finished speaking and turned to leave.
It's almost midnight.
Mo Yunhan appeared silently in Jiang Qingwan's room.
Looking at her sleeping face, I angrily reached out and pinched it.
Jiang Qingwan was fast asleep after drinking, and she softly raised her hand to open it, showing no sign of waking up.
Mo Yunhan's face turned dark with anger.
Does this woman even have a heart?
She gave him away to someone else to have their wedding night, while she herself could still sleep soundly.
He grew angrier the more he thought about it, so he simply bent his fingers and pinched Jiang Qingwan's pert nose.
Jiang Qingwan was quickly awakened by the sudden difficulty in breathing. After slowly waking up, she was stunned for a moment when she saw Mo Yunhan sitting by the bed.
He then propped himself up on his arms and sat up, raising his hand to rub his still somewhat swollen brow.
"Are you done?"
Mo Yunhan remained silent, pursing his lips as he coldly stared at her.
Once the swelling and pain subsided, Jiang Qingwan looked up at him again.
"Go lie down on that little couch over there. I'll treat your leg in a bit. I need to sober up first."
Seeing that she still remembered to treat her leg, Mo Yunhan felt a little relieved. His dark eyes were fixed on her pink lips, and he suddenly said in a hoarse voice,
"I have a way to sober you up quickly."
