Xiao Hong tried to pounce on him several times but couldn't touch the hem of Mo Yunhan's clothes.
Enraged, he jumped onto the table, ready to deliver a powerful blow.
At this moment, Qin Minglang could no longer contain his anger and rushed in.
"Your Highness, I've been talking myself hoarse trying to find even the smallest clue, yet you're indulging in your personal feelings here. Isn't that going too far...?"
Mo Yunhan dodged at an astonishing speed.
Little Red's claws landed squarely on Qin Minglang's face.
It landed firmly, starting from the left side of the forehead, completely diagonally across the entire cheek, and stopping at the chin.
The claw marks were clear, and the bloodstains were obvious.
Xiao Hong realized she had grabbed the wrong person and squatted down in front of Qin Minglang, looking somewhat bewildered.
Qin Minglang felt a burning pain on his face, and fueled by anger, he kicked out hard.
"Where did this little beast come from!"
Jiang Qingwan shouted urgently, "Stop!"
Xiao Hong, however, was still staring at her expectantly, afraid that she would be angry, and did not try to avoid her at all.
The next moment, Mo Yunhan made his move.
With a palm strike, she cleaved Qin Minglang's attack aside, grabbed the still-dazed Xiao Hong, and shoved her into Jiang Qingwan's arms.
Qin Minglang staggered from the blow. He was still recovering from his injuries, and now he was so angry that he clutched his chest in fury.
"Your Highness, are you going to kill me?"
A large crowd had already gathered at the entrance, all craning their necks to look inside.
"Could they have started fighting over who will be the princess?"
"It's possible. Didn't you see that the Prince was very unhappy last night? General Qin is the same. They're already divorced, yet he's still calling the Princess by her childhood name. That's not proper."
Mo Yunhan coldly swept his gaze across the area.
Everyone felt a chill run down their spines and quickly dispersed.
Mo Yunhan then turned his gaze to Qin Minglang, slowly approaching, his fierce killing intent suddenly surging.
"If I wanted to kill you, what could you do about it?"
Qin Minglang's heart tightened.
Because of the backlash from the pill, he can't muster much strength at all now.
But Jiang Qingwan was right next to him, so he couldn't back down and immediately straightened his neck.
"Although you are a prince and I am a subject, I am here to serve the emperor, and the person I serve is also the emperor. How dare you kill me? Are you plotting a rebellion?!"
Mo Yunhan slowly curled the corners of his lips into a smile.
"The place you are standing on now is my bedroom. My queen is sleeping in the inner room. You have entered without my summons and intended to commit a crime. Do you know what your crime is?"
Qin Minglang choked.
At this moment, Jiang Qingwan walked to Mo Yunhan's side with Xiao Hong in her arms, her eyes brimming with affection.
“General Qin, Xiao Hong is my pet. The prince and I are training it. How could you barge in like this? Even if Xiao Hong accidentally injured you, you should have asked what happened instead of killing it outright. You have really disappointed me.”
That last sentence completely shattered Qin Minglang's previous self-righteous sense of superiority, making him so angry that his face turned red, but he couldn't utter a single word in rebuttal.
Jiang Qingwan then spoke leisurely.
"However, I believe that General Qin would not take the Emperor's orders lightly. Your anxious and rude rush in must mean that you have made a significant discovery. So please report it. The Prince and I will forgive your rashness."
Su Liuer, standing outside the door, couldn't help but want to laugh.
Who said that this Jiang woman was a weak-willed person who was bullied by the Qin family for five years and ended up as a divorced woman?
This person is clearly vengeful and will retaliate on the spot.
She coughed softly.
Suddenly, he bowed to Jiang Qingwan.
"Your Highness, let me report first. No one attempted to assassinate Lord Qin tonight. Lord Qin knocked on twenty-three doors and was splashed with foot-washing water by three people. However, General Qin was quick and didn't get splashed. He was even called a hooligan by two of them because he kicked open their doors and threatened them to confess, while the couple happened to be in bed..."
"Shut up!"
Qin Minglang was so angry he jumped up and down.
But a burst of laughter came from outside.
Clearly, everyone heard what Su Liuer said.
Seeing his bulging veins, Su Liuer continued, "General Qin, why are you still angry? I was telling everyone about your hard work. Since you're so ungrateful, I won't say anything more. Anyway, you only got hit a few times with a stick used to prop up the door and stepped in dog poop twice."
Qin Minglang's face turned ashen.
Su Liuer bowed again.
"Your Highness, mission accomplished, I'm going to eat."
After saying that, he turned and left without even looking at Qin Minglang's sour face.
Qin Minglang felt utterly humiliated, clenching his fists tightly, wishing he could kill everyone on the spot.
"General Qin, what exactly do you want to report?"
Mo Yunhan's cold and arrogant voice was the last straw that broke the camel's back.
He growled angrily.
"No, there's nothing to report."
After saying that, he turned and left.
Jiang Qingwan sighed.
"Since General Qin can't get any information out of us, we'll have to find another way. Let's eat first."
She walked out carrying the red fox.
"Could those brothers please go to the blacksmith's shop and deliver some food? They've been working hard all night for all of us."
She was beautiful, with a gentle voice, and every smile and gesture exuded elegance and poise. Her aura was commanding, yet she possessed a rare charm that made her approachable.
Some people immediately raised their hands in agreement.
"I'll go."
"Let's go too."
Jiang Qingwan nodded slightly.
"Lian'er, Li Dou, you two help me put on an act."
Simple meals shared by everyone.
There was no distinction between high and low status, and even the aloof and arrogant Mo Yunhan, in the eyes of outsiders, sat on the cramped and low wooden stool without any airs, and even helped Jiang Qingwan tear open the somewhat hard dry biscuits and soak them in the porridge.
