Mo Shaoze's back stiffened.
At this moment, Lian'er stepped forward.
"Miss, what should we do? It's all blistering."
Qinghui knelt on the ground and took out some wound medicine. "Will this work?"
Mo Shaoze hurriedly bowed and greeted them.
"Ninth Prince, the Princess Consort has just been burned..."
Before he could finish speaking, a figure had already passed him.
Qing Sui quickly got up and moved aside.
Mo Yunhan frowned deeply as he looked at the small red spot on the back of Jiang Qingwan's hand.
"Go and fetch a doctor."
Ye Qi, who was following behind him, immediately agreed.
"No need, I'm fine."
Jiang Qingwan took Lian'er's handkerchief, frowned, and pinched the blister on the back of her hand that had been burned.
"Give me the wound medicine."
Qing Sui quickly handed it over.
She poured some directly onto it, and Lian'er ran over to get the medicine box and carefully wrapped it with gauze.
"It was my fault. I should have waited for the tea to cool down a bit before serving it to you, Miss."
"Your Highness, please punish me."
She knelt down with a thud, her eyes red and swollen.
Jiang Qingwan waved her hand, "It's no big deal, why are you kneeling? Get up."
As she spoke, her gaze fell upon Mo Yunhan, and the corners of her eyes curved into a smile.
"You bought roasted pigeon? It's honey-glazed, and it must have just come out of the oven."
Ye Qi glanced at Mo Shaoze, who was standing to the side, and immediately cupped her hands and said, "Your Highness, the Prince went there specially after court, waiting for the freshly baked ones to be bought, saying that Your Highness likes to eat them."
Jiang Qingwan reached out and gently tugged at the man whose aura was extremely low.
Her tone carried a hint of coquetry.
"I was just feeling hungry, Your Highness is so kind."
Mo Yunhan was so coaxed by her that he had no temper left.
Suddenly, she looked coldly at Mo Shaoze beside her.
What are you doing here?
Of all these princes, only Mo Shaoze was sent to a separate residence at a very young age because he was not favored and thus escaped being tormented by Mo Yunhan.
However, as he grew up, the rumors about Mo Yunhan made him feel awe and unable to get close to his little Ninth Uncle.
"He came to ask about the attack we suffered that night; the Emperor has put him in charge."
Jiang Qingwan explained casually, then reached out and took the brown paper bag containing the roasted pigeon from Mo Yunhan's hand. Because one of her hands was wrapped up and it was inconvenient, Lian'er was unwrapping it.
The aroma of roasted pigeon wafted through the air, and almost in the blink of an eye, two large heads appeared behind Jiang Qingwan.
His tongue was sticking out, and his big eyes were wide open.
It was Xiaohong and Xiaohua.
Mo Yunhan's gaze swept over them indifferently, yet it was undeniably intimidating.
The fox and the tiger both pulled their heads back, but their eyes remained fixed on the roast pigeon.
Jiang Qingwan threw one to each of them.
She pouted and complained.
"How dare you blame them? You know there are so many mouths to feed at home, yet you still bought so little?"
Mo Yunhan was helpless.
"With you on my mind, there's no room for the two of them."
Such seductive words made Lian'er and Qing Sui both lower their heads.
Jiang Qingwan, without blushing or skipping a beat, turned to Xiao Hong and Xiao Hua, who were munching on meat, and whispered a complaint, "From now on, don't listen to him. He won't even buy you meat. He's so stingy."
Mo Yunhan reached out and pinched her cheek.
"You dare to speak ill of me while I'm still here?"
Mo Shaoze's eyes dimmed, and he lowered his gaze, cupped his hands, and took his leave.
"Ninth Uncle, Princess Consort, I have finished asking, so I will not disturb you any longer."
Mo Yunhan didn't even glance at him, only giving a deep "hmm".
Ye Qi, however, made a gesture of invitation and escorted him to the door. He deliberately stood on the stone steps and said, "My prince is cold-hearted, but he is extremely concerned about the princess's affairs and cannot tolerate the slightest mistake. Please forgive him, Fourth Prince."
Mo Shaoze nodded slightly but said nothing.
As the gates of the mansion closed.
His expression gradually hardened.
He slowly reached to his waist and pulled out a wooden carving the size of his palm.
The facial features are lifelike, and even the curve of the hem of the clothes is extremely exquisite.
It was immediately obvious that it was none other than the Ninth Prince's Consort, Jiang Qingwan.
His fingers gently stroked the small wooden face.
When Xiao Jiangzi saw this, he turned pale with fright and quickly pulled him a few steps forward by the arm.
He lowered his voice and advised, "My lord, this matter must not be known to anyone else. The Ninth Prince has a temper; he could really cause a huge uproar."
Mo Shaoze tucked the small wooden carving back into his waistband.
I looked up at the long street with its layered buildings.
This is the place in the entire capital city, apart from the imperial palace, that best showcases one's status.
As a prince, this was his first time stepping inside.
It's ironic.
It was like a heavy hammer blow, making him even more sober.
"Little Jiangzi, I want to become a real prince."
Xiao Jiangzi was taken aback.
Mo Shaoze added, "Royal battles are always bloody. I have nothing, so even if I lose, it's just one life."
“Even if I’m barely clinging to life, I’ll still be used by others. Last time in Shuiyun Palace, if it weren’t for her saving me, I would have died long ago. Now, my father has given me a chance, and I must seize it and stand upright in the court.”
Xiao Jiangzi's heart was in turmoil.
"Your Highness, you...you want to seize power?"
A firmness that had never been seen before shone in Mo Shaoze's eyes.
"The reason Father Emperor remembered me is simply because what the Second Prince did recently crossed Father Emperor's bottom line and made him realize that no one can be too powerful in the court. Bringing me up is a warning to the Second Prince that he is not necessarily the only pawn to contend with. If there are three pawns and only two are usable, then Father Emperor will have no choice."
Xiao Jiangzi only understood part of what he heard.
"Your Highness, what are you going to do?"
