Mo Yunke looked at Jiang Qingwan coldly again.
What explanation do you have for this?
Jiang Qingwan's face showed little change in expression.
The admission was unusually straightforward.
"I was the one who threw him into the pool; he deserved to freeze to death."
Consort Wan was so angry that she started wiping away tears again.
"Your Highness, listen to this! Listen to how arrogant and domineering this woman is! A mere merchant, elevated to the position of Regent's Consort, has become so arrogant and ignorant. She dares to wantonly murder a prince in the palace! What is she trying to do? Does she have any respect for the Emperor? Does she have any reverence for the imperial family's authority?"
Mo Yunke's face was very gloomy.
"I only went to the Free and Unfettered Sword Sect to accompany Luanfeng through the trials and went into seclusion for half a year, but earth-shattering changes have taken place in this palace, producing an arrogant person like you."
"No matter who gave you your status or how much favor you receive, you have no right to trample on the dignity of the royal family before me. Go to the gravel road and kneel for three hours. You are not allowed to get up without my order."
Consort Wan felt the punishment was too lenient, but she dared not disobey and could only glare at Jiang Qingwan resentfully.
Jiang Qingwan seemed not to have heard Mo Yunke's words at all, staring at Mo Shaoye who had been saved by acupuncture.
"Now answer my question again."
"How dare you!" Du Luanfeng shouted angrily, "You have no manners whatsoever in front of the Princess! Kneel down at once!"
Jiang Qingwan gave her a cold glance.
"I will not kneel!"
Consort Wan, who was already harboring resentment, felt as if she had found a handle to use against her and fanned the flames once again.
"Your Highness, not only did she humiliate me and poison the prince, but she also dared to disrespect you. This woman is too arrogant. If she is not severely punished, who knows what rebellious things she might do in the future!"
Du Luanfeng had long been unable to contain herself.
"You're asking for it. If you don't want to kneel, then these legs are unnecessary."
She was about to draw her sword.
Du Luanfei, who had just finished putting away her needles, stood up and said, "Luanfeng, she is, after all, the Regent's Consort. Let's not hurt their relationship."
He then gave a slight curtsy.
The voice was gentle, yet extremely powerful.
"Today is my first meeting with the Princess, and I do not know her temperament. However, the Sixth Prince is still a minor and his constitution is weak. It is really inappropriate to throw him into the lotus pond in such weather. Even if the Sixth Prince has made a mistake and offended the Princess, or displeased her, it is only right for an elder to teach him a lesson. However, it is really wrong to be so cruel."
Jiang Qingwan looked at her coldly.
"What do I have to do with you how I discipline him? If I can discipline him, what difference does it make whether I throw him into the pool or scold him? You don't hold him accountable for offending me, but instead you want to punish me. Is there anything more unreasonable in the world?"
Du Luanfei frowned slightly.
She had never seen such cold, emotionless eyes.
They seem to be fearless of everything.
It's as if they can ignore everything.
Was it that man who gave her the courage?
Mo Yunke coldly rebuked.
"What a sharp-tongued woman! Today you will kneel whether you like it or not, Luanfeng!"
Du Luanfeng had been unable to contain herself any longer, cracking her wrists as she approached step by step.
"Your Highness, I practice martial arts, and I don't know my own strength. If you continue to be so stubborn, you'll suffer the consequences."
Du Luanfei lowered her brows and did not try to persuade him further. She gently said to Consort Wan, "Your Highness, the Sixth Prince has caught a cold. I will write a prescription for you to take to the Imperial Hospital to get the medicine. He needs to be properly cared for."
Consort Wan, preoccupied with punishing Jiang Qingwan, felt even more aggrieved upon hearing this, "My poor child! Princess, she must be taught a lesson today!"
Jiang Qingwan did not dodge.
He squinted slightly as he watched Du Luanfeng approach with a murderous aura.
Suddenly, he turned to look in another direction, and his cold and stern aura seemed to warm up instantly.
Even her usually icy face showed a slight smile.
In the blink of an eye, he seemed like a completely different person.
Mo Yunke had been observing, and now a hint of suspicion arose in her heart.
Just as she was about to call out to Du Luanfeng, a gust of wind suddenly swept in, and the next moment, a dark figure flashed in front of Jiang Qingwan, deflecting Du Luanfeng's kick that was aimed at her knee.
Du Luanfeng felt a powerful and domineering internal force attacking her.
She staggered back several steps before regaining her balance.
Upon closer inspection of the person, their eyes lit up instantly.
"Brother Yunhan."
"I was just wondering who in the Great Zhou had such internal strength, that even someone like me who had passed through the Nine Nether Valley of the Free and Unfettered Sword Sect could be sent flying with a single move. I didn't expect it to be you, so it's not surprising."
She tilted her little face up proudly.
Her smile was radiant, without a hint of awkwardness.
Du Luanfei, on the other hand, gave a graceful and shy curtsy.
"Greetings, Regent."
Du Luanfeng pulled her up.
"Our relationship doesn't need such formalities."
As she spoke, she looked intently at Mo Yunhan.
"Brother Yunhan, we had a great time practicing martial arts and riding horses in the army back then. You promised me that you would take me to eat roast whole lamb again when we had the chance. Now that I'm in the capital, I'm not leaving. When will you keep your promise?"
Du Luanfei hurriedly said,
"Luanfeng, don't speak carelessly. The Regent's Consort is still here. Don't let people misunderstand and make things difficult for the Prince."
The two of them sang in unison, clearly demonstrating that they had a close relationship with Mo Yunhan.
Mo Yunhan ignored her and turned to look Jiang Qingwan up and down, supporting her shoulders.
Are you injured?
Jiang Qingwan smiled faintly and shook her head.
"No, I'm fine."
Mo Yunhan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He turned around and bowed to Mo Yunke.
"Your subject greets your elder sister."
