Jiang Qingwan was squatting on the ground checking the formation when she heard this and raised her little face.
"The villagers are safe, and the Dadong River is safe too. Don't try to renege on your debt."
Mo Yunhan shielded her from the glaring sunset and leaned down to look at her. "Now that it's resolved, why aren't you leaving? Do you really want to eat fish?"
Jiang Qingwan pouted.
"I want to see what that monk looks like?"
There was one more thing she didn't mention: the deathly aura in the yellow mud seemed to have nothing to do with Majia Village.
She drained the spiritual energy contained in the center of the formation, rendering the entire formation completely useless.
Even if someone tries to repeat the same trick, they won't succeed.
The next thing to do is see if the monk comes or not.
She stood up and walked down the mountain.
Mo Yunhan didn't follow, his voice indifferent, "Do you need me to stay?"
Jiang Qingwan didn't even turn her head, just waved her hand.
"No need."
Mo Yunhan watched her slender figure disappear into the mountains and forests, his brows furrowing.
This woman truly knows no fear whatsoever.
How could Qin Minglang be the one to bully them?
Jiang Qingwan saw Ma Lin coming up the mountain when she reached the halfway point. After seeing her, she quickened her pace.
"Fairy Maiden".
As he spoke, he glanced behind her.
"Hasn't that Master Zheng come down yet?"
Jiang Qingwan didn't stop walking. "The female corpse is still in the mountains. He will naturally wait for the government officials to come and take over."
Ma Lin chuckled awkwardly, "It's really hard work. I was thinking of calling them down for a meal, but by the time the constables come up the mountain to carry the corpse, it will be dark."
The chirping of insects and the sounds of birds and beasts in the mountains seemed to fall silent; no sound could be heard.
Jiang Qingwan glanced at him.
"It's better when it gets dark. We can also check if there are any wandering ghosts or spirits left in Majia Village."
Marin felt a chill run down his spine and wiped the sweat from his brow.
"The fairy is very kind."
The two quickly arrived at Marin's house.
Although Majia Village relies on fishing for a living, it is still considered prosperous.
Compared to Shuigen's yard, Malin's yard was much more spacious.
A neatly dressed woman was busy setting out the dishes when she heard the noise and looked over.
"Old man, you brought the fairy back?"
"I'm sorry to bother you." Jiang Qingwan nodded slightly, her gaze sweeping over the woman's belly, a glint of light flashing in her eyes.
The woman seemed a little reserved as she bowed to her and invited her to take the seat of honor.
The table was covered with fish—steamed, braised, stewed, and a bowl of tender white fish head soup.
Both types were topped with chili peppers, which, contrasted with the white fish meat, made it look as if it were dripping with blood, giving it a somewhat strange appearance.
The woman personally ladled a bowl of fish soup for her and handed it to her.
"Fairy, please try it and see if it suits your taste. This is the first time I've made fish soup with chili peppers, and I don't know if it will taste good."
Jiang Qingwan took it, thanked her, and without hesitation, drank half a bowl.
"It has a mellow and slightly spicy flavor, which is excellent."
The woman was overjoyed and invited her to eat other dishes, showing great hospitality.
Jiang Qingwan did not refuse and ate some of each dish. When the second bowl of fish soup was handed to her, she suddenly felt her vision blur and before she could even touch it, she slumped onto the table.
"A fairy maiden? A fairy maiden?"
The woman called her anxiously a few times, but when she did not answer, she slowly put down the bowl.
The voice, which had just been gentle and delicate, suddenly became rough and deep.
Where is it?
Marin pointed a trembling finger at Jiang Qingwan's waist.
“I saw her put the things into the...third purse.”
The woman bent down to reach it, and the next moment the door was kicked open.
Mo Yunhan stood at the door with a gloomy face, his eyes flashing with a fierce light as he looked at the unconscious Jiang Qingwan.
"I noticed something was off about you a long time ago."
As he spoke, he attacked Marin.
Ma Lin was so frightened that he cried out and shrank back, but the woman had already picked up Jiang Qingwan and carried her out of the courtyard in a few leaps.
Mo Yunhan was stunned.
He only suspected the village chief and never thought that the village chief's wife had a problem.
When he realized that the person had almost disappeared from sight, he quickly stopped and turned around to chase after them.
Marin lay sprawled on the ground, his legs dangling, crying out, "Don't hurt my wife! Don't hurt my wife!"
As night falls, people don't usually go to bed this early.
But today, almost all the men have been affected by the resentment of the cave and are all resting at home.
The streets were deserted.
The woman ran quickly towards the Dadong River, but was stopped by Mo Yunhan as soon as she reached the riverbank.
"Let her go."
The woman gave a sinister laugh, then suddenly reached into her bosom, pulled out an iron plate, and threw it at Mo Yunhan.
A deep humming sound, like the descent of Brahma, accompanied countless talismans falling from the iron plate, forming a barrel-shaped array around Mo Yunhan and trapping him firmly within it.
"How dare a mere mortal fight against this great immortal?"
Mo Yunhan was stunned.
Why is this person a man?
But she's clearly a woman!
Thinking she had trapped Jiang Qingwan, the woman casually tossed her to the ground and rubbed her hands together.
"Let this great immortal see what treasures you, beautiful little fairy, have hidden away."
As she spoke, she reached out and touched Jiang Qingwan's waist.
You deserve to die!
The next moment, he heard a chilling voice like that of Yama, the King of Hell. By the time he came to his senses, he had already been sent flying by a palm strike.
"Cough cough cough cough..." She coughed up two mouthfuls of blood, looking at Mo Yunhan who was already holding Jiang Qingwan in his arms, her face full of disbelief, "Impossible, how could my magic artifact not be able to trap you?"
"It's because you're stupid!"
Jiang Qingwan couldn't keep up the act any longer, so she slowly opened her eyes and glanced at Mo Yunhan with disdain.
"Didn't I tell you not to come? You're in the way."
Mo Yunhan reached out and pinched her waist.
