Chapter 79 hasn't even warmed up yet.

Yun Xiaoran watched the phoenix seal fall, but knelt down again.

"Grandmother, Xiaoran has another request."

"you say."

"Xiaoran hopes to keep the news of this imperial edict a secret before entering the manor. On that day, Xiaoran will personally bring the edict to Yunhan's door to give him a surprise."

The Empress Dowager's eyes curved slightly at the corners.

"What's so difficult about that? The imperial decree is yours. Anyone who dares to leak even a fraction of it will be punished for disobeying the decree."

Yun Xiaoran happily accepted it, then turned to look at Song Yushu.

"Then I'll trouble you, Aunt, to keep Brother Yunhan here that day, so that Xiaoran doesn't enter the manor alone in her phoenix carriage and lose face."

At this point, Song Yushu clearly saw the real Yun Xiaoran.

They were cunning and ruthless.

Her eyes were cold and deep as she curtsied to the Empress Dowager.

"Your Majesty, I will obey your decree."

...

Inside the Qin residence,

Su Yulan had just finished lunch when Qin Minglang walked in from outside the mansion, beaming with pride.

She was about to ask how the gift was chosen when she was swept up in a hug.

"what you do?"

She gasped in surprise, but Qin Minglang, like a hungry wolf, kissed her hard on the lips.

"Today, my poison has been completely eliminated."

Su Yulan was stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized something and immediately reached out to wrap her arms around his neck.

"You...you're done?"

During this period, Qin Minglang felt extremely frustrated.

They pinned him down on the bed and started making love to him without even closing the door.

Chunmei blushed with embarrassment and quickly closed the door, standing guard outside.

When Zhang heard that Qin Minglang had returned to the mansion, she immediately came looking for him, but was stopped outside by Chunmei.

“My lady and her husband have important business to attend to, please return.”

"The master is still suffering in prison. Saving people is the important thing. Get out of the way."

Zhang tried to force her way in, but then she heard Su Yulan's wanton voice and immediately became furious.

"Shameless! Doing this in broad daylight! Qin Minglang, your father is still suffering, you better come out right now."

The two people making a ruckus behind the bed curtains couldn't hear anything, and Su Yulan was even more eager to pester the other person to death.

Zhang called out several times but no one answered; the sounds of debauchery coming from inside grew even louder.

She couldn't listen anymore and stormed out of the courtyard, only to see the gatekeeper rushing towards her.

Upon seeing her, he hurriedly curtsied without even stopping.

Zhang shouted angrily, "Stop right there! What happened?"

The gatekeeper looked troubled. "Madam, this matter needs to be reported to the General and the County Princess's wife. You can't make the decision yourself."

Zhang was so angry that she slapped him across the face.

"In the Qin family, there's nothing I can't decide. Tell me, what exactly happened?"

The gatekeeper covered his face and gestured towards the gate of the mansion.

"Then you should go see for yourself."

Zhang was seething with anger and led her maids and servants toward the gate of the mansion.

Zhang Biao, from the Sifang Casino, stood outside the door with Liu'er and several thugs. They couldn't help but laugh when they saw her come out.

Zhang Biao said, "Does General Qin know he can't pay off his gambling debts, so he's kicking his own mother out?"

Zhang recognized his identity and felt a little uneasy, but she didn't want to lose face as the wife of a second-rank general. She coldly scolded, "What are you doing here? You've paid off all your gambling debts. If you dare to cause trouble at the Qin residence again, believe me, I'll break your legs!"

Zhang Biao scoffed and glanced at Liu'er.

Liu'er immediately took out the indenture and IOU.

"Madam, Master Qin owes money at the casino and has been imprisoned. We have no choice but to come to your door. This written agreement with your fingerprint is in black and white; you have no choice but to accept it."

"If you can't come up with the money, you'll have to come with us today and work as a maid or servant at the casino, serving tea and water. You'll also have to wash the clothes of the gentlemen in the back courtyard properly."

Zhang was so angry that she started cursing.

"You insolent wretch, spouting nonsense! My son is a second-rank general, and you dare to make me your maid? You don't want your head! Guards, beat him severely!"

The thugs employed by the casino were no pushovers; they quickly subdued the guards who rushed at them.

Zhang Biao stepped forward, shoving the indenture almost against Zhang's face.

"Look carefully, this is a contract of servitude personally signed by Master Qin."

Seeing that things were going badly, Zhang immediately kicked the maid next to her hard.

"Hurry up and go fetch the general!"

"yes."

The maid, clutching her leg, dared not delay and staggered hurriedly towards the front yard.

As expected, Chunmei stopped her, but since it concerned the old lady, the maid was afraid of taking responsibility, so she shouted at the top of her lungs.

"The people from the gambling den want to take the old lady away as a slave, General, please come out and see!"

Chunmei was suddenly stunned.

That's when I realized I'd forgotten about it.

As soon as he loosened his grip, the maid rushed into the room.

Feeling comfortable, Su Yulan hooked her arm around Qin Minglang's waist, refusing to let him leave.

The bed curtains, hanging down, were almost lifted up by the two of them.

The maid didn't see clearly at all, only heard some sounds, but she had no time to think about it at the moment, and knelt at the door and called out again.

"General, the master has gambled away the old lady to become a maid at the gambling den, and the people from the gambling den have already come to the gate to arrest her."

Qin Minglang's mind went blank from the news, and he immediately fell silent.

He didn't care about Su Yulan anymore, and immediately turned away, putting on his clothes as he walked out.

Su Yulan felt unsatisfied, caught in a dilemma, and so desperate that she wanted to kill someone.

"Damn old man!"

Chunmei hurriedly ran to the bedside and knelt down.

“Princess, I was careless. With Master Qin arrested, I forgot about the indenture. I’m afraid my son-in-law will lose money again for nothing.”

Su Yulan's face was flushed, and she reached out to pull the brocade quilt over her body.
