Luo Ruyan kept snuggling into Zheng Qing's arms.
Suddenly, Cuiya rushed in in a panic.
"Girl, girl..."
Luo Ruyan was displeased.
Holding Zheng Qing tightly in her arms, she warned and reminded him verbally.
"Cuiya, I haven't taken my medicine yet. Aren't the sweet fruits you prepared going to take quite a while?"
He then winked at her, signaling her to leave quickly.
Cuiya stumbled and fell to the ground, pointing towards the door and trembling violently.
Zheng Qing was worried about not being able to get rid of Luo Ruyan, so he immediately pushed her away.
"Now that Cuiya is here, I'll go first..."
He turned to leave, but was startled by the three ghostly figures that floated in through the door.
What is this?
Luo Ruyan saw it too.
My heart skipped a beat, and I immediately looked at Cuiya.
Cuiya nodded repeatedly
Clearly, both of them recognized the three ghostly figures as the three thugs from earlier that day.
As the three ghostly figures drew closer and closer, Luo Ruyan was terrified.
Zheng Qing looked closely, his forehead covered in sweat.
"Is...is this a ghost? Why does it have no shadow and no feet?"
He had barely finished speaking.
Luo Ruyan suddenly said, "Master, it must be the Princess Consort trying to scare me. Why can't she tolerate me?"
Zheng Qing often travels outside and has a great deal of awe for ghosts and monsters, but he has never seen one with his own eyes.
Hearing Luo Ruyan say that, it does make sense.
The speculation is that Song Yushu disliked it and specially asked Jiang Qingwan to stage this play so that he could use it to get away.
He was about to pretend to drive away the ghost and leave the courtyard.
One of the ghostly figures spoke.
"You vicious woman! You paid us to commit violence against you and trick others into falling into your trap. We were paid to do this, and we even got a beating from that female servant. We never expected that you would take advantage of the female servant's absence to come and harm us."
Another ghostly figure pulled out a long silver needle from above its head, one after another.
"This needle hurts so much! I'm giving it back to you so you can experience what it's like to be worse than dead."
The three ghostly figures pulled silver needles from their heads and fluttered about to attack Luo Ruyan.
Luo Ruyan felt a chill run down her spine and screamed as she threw herself into Zheng Qing's arms.
"Master, save me! Save me!"
Zheng Qing looked at the silver needles, his face extremely grim.
He pulled her out of his arms and asked with a stern face, "The princess said that you conspired with Su Yulan to frame her, is that true? These three are the people you invited to pretend to insult you, aren't they?"
Luo Ruyan's eyes reddened as she shed tears, her expression poignant.
"My lord, no, I didn't. I don't know why they're slandering me like this. I don't even know them. How could I possibly give them money to harm the princess? I'm just an orphan. How could I possibly have the right to oppose the princess? If the princess really can't tolerate me, she doesn't need to resort to such frightening methods. I... I'll just leave."
She was crying so hard she could barely breathe.
It seems they really suffered a great injustice.
One of the ghostly figures jumped up and down.
“Shameless, utterly shameless. You tore your clothes yourself. We three brothers may not be good people, but we have never bullied women. And you’re still lying here. We saw the red mole on your neck and behind your ear. You even told us to act more aggressively, and said that if they didn’t come over, you would tear your pants too.”
Luo Ruyan wished she could just cover their mouths.
Seeing Zheng Qing's expression growing increasingly grim.
He immediately pinched himself hard again, choking back tears and pleading.
"My lord, I am an unmarried woman. How could I risk my chastity to do such a thing? You must do justice for me!"
Zheng Qing was extremely disappointed in her.
He regretted his mistake that day, saying he would marry her as a concubine, but he never forgot her kindness. Otherwise, he would never have upset his wife for the sake of someone else.
But unexpectedly.
He was torn and in pain, unsure how to repay his savior, only to discover that she was a vicious and venomous woman.
In a fit of rage, he grabbed Luo Ruyan by the neck.
"Do you take me for a fool? I almost lost my life when I fell off a cliff because of a horse's erratic behavior. You saved me and took good care of me. Moreover, because of my disheveled clothes, I ruined my reputation. I feel guilty towards you, so I brought you to the capital, promising to cure your hidden illness, give you wealth and glory, and ensure your safety and happiness."
"But you lied to me time and time again."
Luo Ruyan clearly hadn't expected Zheng Qing to lose control like this.
She grabbed his wrists with both hands in a hurry, and cried even more bitterly.
"My lord, what are you saying? Do you really believe the princess's accusations and this fabricated, deliberately mystifying story?"
"made up?"
Zheng Qing pulled her and pointed to the thin silver needles in the hands of the three ghostly figures.
"I later had someone find that mad horse. Although it was already dead, the accompanying guards found an identical silver needle in its body. The force with which it was inserted was extremely tricky. Because you didn't know martial arts, I never suspected you, but now..."
A flicker of panic crossed Luo Ruyan's eyes.
But he stubbornly refused to admit it.
"Master, I really don't know martial arts."
Zheng Qing sneered.
Do you think I'm stupid enough to believe that the same thing appearing in my life twice is just a coincidence?
Luo Ruyan was taken aback.
She thought Zheng Qing was just a reckless brute.
I didn't expect my brain to be working so fast at this moment.
Unable to find a reason to explain, she pressed a pressure point, took a few rapid breaths, her head lolled to the side, and she fainted.
Zheng Qing was furious.
"Stop pretending."
