Chapter 13 Disrupting the Film Set

In order not to delay the film crew's schedule, Jian Ruoxi stepped forward again.

“Grandma, I will soon have no connection with the Lu family anymore. Choosing to return to my acting career is my own decision, and I don’t think you have the right to interfere.”

Grandma Lu was furious and picked up a paint can from the studio and smashed it.

Ruoxi kept her eyes closed, but she didn't feel any stickiness or pain. When she opened her eyes, she found herself being held in Lu Shen's arms.

Lu Shen's hair was still dripping with colorful paint.

When Grandma Lu saw this, she panicked for a moment. Her arrogant demeanor vanished instantly, and she sat listlessly in her chair, wailing.

The crew members all curled their lips at the sight, thinking that when it came to acting, the old lady of the Lu family was the most skilled.

Su Ziyu's steps forward were blocked by a man. By the time he realized what was happening, someone had already pulled Jian Ruoxi into their arms.

Looking at Jian Ruoxi hiding in someone else's arms, he felt inexplicably lost.

Lu Shen looked at Li Anran with a sharp gaze, his expression scrutinizing her.

Li Anran immediately fell silent, lowering her head to avoid his gaze.

"Shen, Grandma rushed over because she accidentally saw some behind-the-scenes footage. I came with her because I was worried about her health."

Li Anran hurriedly stepped forward and tugged at Lu Shen's sleeve to explain.

Lu Shen looked down at Jian Ruoxi, who was in low spirits in his arms, and his heart tightened. He ignored Li Anran's panicked expression.

He picked up Jian Ruoxi and walked out of the film set, leaving the crowd looking at each other in bewilderment.

Li Anran watched the two figures disappear into the distance, a surge of hatred welling up within her.

When Old Mrs. Lu saw that resentful expression, she felt a chill run down her spine and shivered.

Li Anran seemed to realize that she had lost her composure, and quickly composed herself, helping the old lady to apologize to everyone.

"I'm sorry everyone, Grandma's love for Ruoxi is both deep and bitter. I will arrange compensation for today's losses. I've asked the housekeeper to order afternoon tea as an apology."

Li Anran tried her best to appear generous and dignified, maintaining her last shred of dignity.

In a corner unseen by anyone, Li Anran's fingers dug into flesh, her nails piercing, dripping a few drops of bright red blood, like a poppy blooming in the night, ready to take a life at any moment.
