From initially throwing it away, to later occasionally taking a bite, the two eventually sat down at the same table.
She always had him under her control without even realizing it.
Seeing Lu Shen lost in thought, Li Anran quickly called out to him a few times.
"Shen, Shen. This won't taste good when it's cold. Drink it while it's hot."
Lu Shen refused the spoon offered to him, took the bowl, and began to eat slowly by himself.
Looking at her empty hands, Li Anran looked dejected.
"Are you disgusted with me...?"
Lu Shen looked at Li Anran's tightly clenched hands and knew that she was on the verge of a breakdown.
He didn't want to upset her any further.
"No, I've never disliked you. It's all my fault. I've been indecisive and hurt you both. That's why I'm so confused right now, which is why I suggested canceling the engagement party."
Li Anran loosened her grip.
"If we delay any longer, I'm afraid my wedding dress won't be able to cover my belly. I want to be your beautiful bride."
Li Anran touched her belly and smiled happily.
Lu Shen looked at Li Anran's stomach, hesitated for a moment, and finally spoke.
"Jian Ruoxi's condition is not very good, so now is not the time to hold an engagement banquet. Let's wait and see."
Upon hearing this, Li Anran's eyes widened.
Jian Ruoxi is pregnant?
"I just suspect she's pregnant, so I want to find out. I don't want to hold an engagement party until things are clear."
Lu Shen's expression was calm, as if he were simply informing her, not discussing it with her.
Li Anran's heart sank to the bottom, her fingernails digging deep into her flesh, barely keeping her conscious.
Despite all her efforts, why couldn't she outdo that woman?
