Jiang Xia hesitated slightly. He had originally planned to stay home all day drawing storyboards, but since his father-in-law was going, it wouldn't matter if he was delayed a little. He could just work on it until he got back in the evening.
“Go,” he said.
See you at school later.
"See you at school. Baby, give me a kiss~"
"Get lost!"
Lin Yanwan glanced at the door, whispered a "mua" into the microphone, and hung up the phone in a flash.
Jiang Xia chuckled, pushed open the door and walked out of the bedroom. His mother was making breakfast in the kitchen, while his father was practicing a simplified version of Tai Chi on the balcony.
"Mom, I want noodles too. Cook less, but you can order more vegetables," he said while brushing his teeth.
Hearing the noise, Xia Shanshan turned to look at her son and teased, "Oh, you're up so early today. Looks like those two punches from your father-in-law weren't for nothing."
Jiang Xia's face twitched slightly. He couldn't understand the connection between getting up early and being beaten. Was this really his mother?
"Mom, are you going to a parent-teacher conference today?"
"How did you know?" Xia Shanshan asked, somewhat surprised.
Jiang Xia took a sip of water, tilted his head back, gulped it down a few times, and then spat out all the foam from his mouth.
“Your daughter-in-law said that my father-in-law is going too, so I’m going too.”
"Aren't you afraid of getting beaten up again?"
"Does your son seem like the type to give up after experiencing some hardship?"
Jiang Xia said smugly, "Today I will not only go, but I will also go as Xiaoman's brother-in-law."
