Chapter 158, Section 157: Teasing My Wife is So Much Fun
Later, Jiang Xia drew more than a dozen unique design drafts and sent them to his wife, receiving a flying kiss emoji as a reward.
In the design drafts, besides shark riding a horse, there are also shark bee, cow horse, turtle honey, (five-headed) shark hand, cow mango and a whole bunch of other ugly things with strange styles.
Just imagine, once these things are turned into products and put on an online store, they will probably immediately attract a lot of attention. Putting everything else aside, just for fun and a bit of a fuss, it's worth the money.
◇
Two days later, at noon, Jiang Xia had just finished lunch and was about to return to his room to work on the segmentation when a postal courier came to his door.
"Jiang Xia, your package."
Xia Shanshan took the rectangular black bag from the courier with suspicion. It didn't feel thick, but it had a strange sense of weight to it.
"You bought something online?" she asked, looking at her son.
"No."
Jiang Xia's gaze fell on the package, and he suddenly guessed what it was. Judging by the time, it should have arrived by now.
"Mom, why don't you open it and take a look? Maybe it'll be something good," he said with a smile.
"It's so thin, what good stuff could it be?"
Xia Shanshan muttered to herself as she tore open the black packaging bag with her hands. The first thing she saw was a group of students in graduation gowns, with a white archway in the background.
She was startled and looked up at her son. He was all smiles, looking confident and assured.
"Has your acceptance letter arrived?"
Jiang Xia shrugged: "Maybe."
Xia Shanshan tore it open forcefully, revealing the entire package.
The top left corner of the package says EMS, meaning Global Postal Express Delivery; the top right corner features the Tsinghua University emblem—composed of three decorative concentric rings representing Tsinghua University, its motto: "Cultivating Virtue and Bearing Responsibility, Striving for Self-Improvement," and a five-pointed star. The bottom left corner has a red "囍" (double happiness) character, and the white archway in the bottom right corner is the iconic East Second Gate of Tsinghua University.
"Oh my! It really is!"
Xia Shanshan was overjoyed. Tsinghua and Peking University, the two top universities in China, are the dreams of countless students.
She had taught her whole life and had imagined this scene countless times. Finally, her son had lived up to her expectations!
"No, no, I need to call your dad first. Today is a good day, why should I go to work?"
Xia Shanshan handed the express delivery bag to Jiang Xia and excitedly took out her phone to make a call.
For ordinary families, getting into Tsinghua University is equivalent to passing the imperial examination with flying colors, a joyous occasion comparable to their wedding night, and must be celebrated properly.
Jiang Xia chuckled. Although she was mentally prepared, the moment she received the admission notice, it still felt a little unreal, and her hands trembled slightly as she unpacked the package.
In his previous life, he applied to the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, which, although one of the eight major art academies, was far inferior to the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts.
I opened the package, and there was a whole bunch of stuff inside:
1. Tsinghua University 2009 Freshman Family Economic Situation Survey Form.
2. Application for student dormitory accommodation at Tsinghua University.
3. Tsinghua University 2009 Freshman Admission Guide
4. Brief introduction to student financial aid policies in higher education institutions.
5. Bank card.
6. Luggage Label
7. Tsinghua University Admission Notice
8. Admission Commemorative Card
Jiang Xia took a few deep breaths, looking at the admission notice in her hand, her heart still pounding with excitement.
Tsinghua University
Admission Notice
Jiang Xia:
You have been admitted to our school's Animation program. Please bring this admission notice to the school for registration. Specific time and location can be found in the "New Student Admission Guide".
Jiang Xia finished reading the words softly, one by one, when her phone suddenly rang.
He took out his phone, looked at the caller ID, and answered with a smile.
"Did you receive your acceptance letter?!" Lin Yanwan's tone sounded somewhat excited.
Jiang Xia took a deep breath, calmed himself, and decided to tease his wife.
"No, what admission notice?" he asked, looking bewildered.
"Tsinghua University? You didn't receive it?" Lin Yanwan was stunned and felt inexplicably nervous.
"No, did you receive it?"
"Yes, I just received it and called you."
She pursed her lips and comforted him, "It's okay, don't worry. The deliveryman might still be on his way. After all, I've already passed the exam, so your academic and art exam scores are practically guaranteed."
Jiang Xia forced herself not to laugh; these words sounded more like they were being spoken to herself.
The proud and aloof Lin Cucu gets extremely nervous whenever something happens.
"What does Tsinghua University's admission letter look like? I've never seen one before."
"Usually, it's just a simple card. I remember reading online that there's also a 3D model of the East Second Gate, right?"
“You’re talking about more than ten years from now, baby. It’s 2009 now.”
"That makes sense."
The two were chatting casually when Jiang Xia suddenly asked, "Baby, what if I don't receive an acceptance letter from Tsinghua University?"
"No, it can't be!"
"What if, I mean what if?"
"Even if it's impossible! Don't even think about it!"
Lin Yanwan said loudly that the two of them had filled in the same school, and if Jiang Xia did not receive it, it would mean that their college life would be separated.
What's the point if I can't be with him?
“Baby, I saw the deliveryman go upstairs!” Jiang Xia suddenly said.
"Go get it quickly, don't hang up the phone! Check if it's the Tsinghua University admission letter, and you must tell me immediately!"
