Leaving the cool air-conditioned room, the sweltering heat outside felt like a wave crashing over me.
Jiang Xia fanned himself with his hand, but seeing the blazing sun outside, he decided to take a taxi.
The temperature was 39℃ today. Luckily, the taxi had air conditioning, otherwise I might have gotten heatstroke.
He took out his phone and called Wang Ming, intending to check on his best friend: "Hey Wang, did you get your acceptance letter yet?"

"Not yet? What, has yours arrived?"

The taxi stopped at the traffic light at the intersection. The driver hesitated and asked, "You just said you got into Tsinghua University. Is your dad's name Jiang Wende?"
Jiang Xia was stunned for a moment, then realized that they were both taxi drivers in the same company, so they might know each other, but he looked to be about ten years younger than Jiang Wende.
"Hmm, you know my dad?"
"Old Jiang, who doesn't know him if he's a taxi driver? He's a very helpful guy," the driver said with a smile.
Jiang Xia smiled. His father did have a good personality. He could chat with anyone in the neighborhood, and he would never refuse to help anyone who asked.
"He told a group of us at the company that his son got into Tsinghua University. We all thought he was bragging, but it turns out it was true. Hahaha, I'm going to brag about this when I get back."
The taxi driver laughed loudly when a horn suddenly sounded behind him. He then realized that the light had turned green, so he released the clutch, stepped on the gas, and the car slowly started moving, gradually increasing in speed.
"By the way, where did you say you were going?"
"The east gate of Jinxiu Huacheng," Jiang Xia said.
Upon arrival at his destination, the driver refused to accept any fare from Jiang Xia and even left him his phone number, saying that if he couldn't get a taxi in the future, he could call him and he would arrive within ten minutes, as long as he was in the city.
