Chapter 194 Good

Chapter 195, Section 194: Good

"...Thank you, you're a good person, but I don't want to be in a relationship right now, I'm sorry."

The boy froze, and then the hope in his eyes quickly faded, replaced by deep disappointment.

He forced a smile: "Actually, I already guessed it. Thank you, thank you for listening to what's on my mind, Shen Ying. I hope we can still be friends in the future."

"Okay." Shen Ying nodded gently.

As he left dejectedly, the others couldn't help but whisper among themselves.

"Yanwan, are you guys still playing? I want to go back." Shen Ying said softly to her best friend.

Jiang Xia stammered, "Then let's all go back. It seems the others are going to sing karaoke, so we won't go."

He first told Teacher Wang, then greeted his classmates, and then planned to leave with Wang Ming.

"Are you leaving or not?" Jiang Xia asked Chen Yao.

"Okay, let's go." Chen Yao slung her small leather bag over her shoulder and suddenly said, "By the way, he drank quite a bit of alcohol earlier, keep an eye on him."

Jiang Xia was stunned. He glanced at the ground and saw three more empty bottles. How long had it been?

Bend down to look at Wang Ming's face, and it was indeed red. Although he didn't look drunk, when one is heartbroken, it's often not the alcohol that makes one drunk.

"Okay, is it alright if you go home by yourself?"

"What, Mr. Jiang, are you still planning to give me a ride? Isn't that a bit inappropriate?" Chen Yao glanced at Lin Yanwan's hand and smiled sweetly.

Jiang Xia rolled her eyes, completely ignoring her teasing: "At most, I'll call a car for you, but you'll have to pay for the fare yourself."

"Tch, no sincerity. Never mind, old classmate, see you later."

"Until we meet again."

After saying that, Chen Yao left the hotel without looking back, very decisively.

Jiang Xia smiled silently. After today, the next time the two of them would probably be in university, right? Although Tsinghua and Peking University are right next to each other, it probably wouldn't be so easy for them to meet.

Given Chen Yao's personality, even on days when she doesn't have classes, she'd probably be spending all her time in the library. Meanwhile, he himself has his animation career to keep up with. Unless they've arranged to have a meal together beforehand, why would he ask Chen Yao out for no reason?

Shaking his head to clear his mind of all the jumbled thoughts, he patted Wang Ming on the shoulder: "Old Wang, stop drinking, let's go."

"Oh oh oh..."

Wang Ming belatedly nodded, stood up and saw that the guy named Zhou Tao across from him was also drinking with his head down, and suddenly felt a sense of sympathy for him.

The four of them left the hotel, feeling the gentle night breeze outside, and felt much more comfortable.

"Are you two taking a taxi or walking?" Jiang Xia asked the two of them.

"Let's take a taxi," Wang Ming and Shen Ying said in unison.

"Okay, Lao Wang, sober up a bit, I'll call a car for you two."

Considering that the two of them were going home in different directions, they should have taken separate taxis. However, there were still many people leaving the venue, and the area around the hotel was filled with supermarkets, food stalls, and night markets. They didn't see a single taxi, let alone two.

After waiting for about five or six minutes, a taxi suddenly turned on its turn signal, refused other people's requests for a ride, and stopped directly in front of Jiang Xia.

Looking at the license plate number, Jiang Xia slightly twitched his face. Was there some kind of flag stuck on his back? How come seven out of ten times he took a taxi, it was probably his own father?

Is it really just a telepathic connection between father and son?

"Finished eating? Are we going home now?" Jiang Wende rolled down the car window and looked at his son.

"Pretty much, but... they are my two classmates." Jiang Xia stepped aside and turned to point to the other two people.

"Take them home, right? Okay, tell them to get in the car." Jiang Wende readily agreed, and Jiang Xia opened the car door and waved for Wang Ming and Shen Ying to come over.

"Dad, this is Wang Ming, you know him. This is Shen Ying, Yan Wan's classmate," Jiang Xia introduced.

Wang Ming and Shen Ying said, "Hello, Uncle Jiang."

"Hello," Jiang Wende said with a chuckle.

Jiang Xia said, "Dad, they both live in different directions, so you might have to take a detour. You can ask them for their specific address."

"no problem."

Jiang Wende nodded. His son's affairs were his affairs, and whether this deal would make money or not was unimportant.

"And what about you two?" He paused for two seconds on his son and daughter-in-law.

"Well, I ate a bit too much just now, so I'm going to walk around to digest. Don't worry about me, I'll go home by myself in a bit."

"Okay, that's all for now, I'm leaving."

Jiang Wende released the clutch and brake, and the car slowly started moving, then accelerated and quickly disappeared at the intersection not far ahead.

"Phew, at least we got rid of them. Luckily, my dad arrived in time."

Jiang Xia let out a long breath, took his wife's hand, and kissed it: "Honey, shall we go for a walk?"

Inside the car, Shen Ying and Wang Ming sat on opposite sides. After the confession incident, Shen Ying originally wanted to take the car home alone to ease her embarrassment, but since he was the boss's father, she was forced to share a ride with Wang Ming.

Whom should I send back first?

Jiang Wende glanced at the rearview mirror. The atmosphere between the two looked so much like when he first picked up his son and daughter-in-law.

His rich life experience told him that there must be a story between them.

"Give it to him/her," the two said in unison, as if on cue.

"Who should we give it to?" Jiang Wende asked helplessly.

Shen Ying said, "Uncle Jiang, you should take him first. He drank quite a bit today, so it would be best if he went home to rest early."

Wang Ming said, "Uncle Jiang, take her there. She's a girl, and she lives not far from here. It's just a few turns away."

"Alright, enough with the back and forth. Let's send her over first... Shen Ying, right? Where do you live?" Jiang Wende asked.

"Hmm, Fragrant Hills Mansion."

"It's not that far indeed."

Shen Ying lowered her eyelids, whispered a thank you, and glanced at Wang Ming out of the corner of her eye. He had his head resting against the car window, his eyes closed as if he were resting.

"When you get back, take a shower and get some rest. Don't even think about staying up late tonight," she said, looking out the window.

Wang Ming slowly opened his eyes and could only see her high ponytail swaying gently with the car.

“Okay,” he said.

"Also, drink less alcohol in the future." Shen Ying suddenly turned to look at him. Did this guy really think she didn't know?

While Zhou Tao was confessing his feelings to her, he silently drank on the side, one glass after another.

Wang Ming's face suddenly turned red, but it was hard to see in the dimly lit car. He subconsciously looked away, pretending to gaze at the scenery outside the car window.

He didn't know how to answer, stammered for a while, and finally nodded, saying, "Okay."

"By the way, I've heard that Peking duck in the capital is delicious. Could you bring one back for me to try sometime?"

"good."
