After returning to school, Jiang Xia and Lin Yanwan ordered a spicy hot pot, which is considered a signature dish, at the Zijingyuan cafeteria. The broth was very fragrant and tasted quite good.
"How much of the Slam Dunk script have you written?" Lin Yanwan put some sliced pork from the hot pot into his bowl; she preferred the vegetables.
"The first phase of the decisive battle against Ryonan High School is almost finished, but I changed the school's name to Ryūjō University of Technology. I've also tried drawing some storyboards, but there's still very little content," Jiang Xia said.
A single episode of Slam Dunk is over twenty minutes long, and its elements include scenes, characters, costumes, micro-expressions, and movements. The sheer amount of work involved is more than ten times that of Tom and Jerry.
Fortunately, the total number of episodes is not large, with a total of 101 episodes. If everything goes smoothly, it should be able to conclude in about two and a half years.
The basketball part is relatively difficult to draw, but we can refer to the NBA and recreate a famous scene. It will probably be a huge hit when it is officially broadcast.
Lin Yanwan nodded slightly, meaning she still had plenty of time to compose the theme song.
"Then I'll write out the sheet music first."
With the sheet music, everything becomes much easier; all that's left is to write the lyrics and perform the piece.
"good."
After lunch, the two returned to their respective dorm rooms, as they had classes in the afternoon.
Su Qing was currently looking at the files that Li Weiya had uploaded to the company group on her laptop. The schedule detailed everyone's work duties, and if someone couldn't complete their tasks within the allotted time, they could very likely be fired.
This is a considerable challenge for working college students, so they have to spend all their spare time working.
"How did the company meeting go today?" Su Qing turned to look at Jiang Xia.
"That's good. How about you? Do you feel the task is too heavy?" Jiang Xia asked in return.
"It's alright. I don't need to compose the picture myself. I just need to refine and detail it based on the original. It's even easier than drawing the original picture on my own," Su Qing said with a smile.
"Then keep up the good work." Jiang Xia was quite confident in Su Ma's painting abilities.
"By the way, do I have to go to the company to pick up Ichihara's artwork myself?"
"Well, about that... I'll arrange for someone to work with you and Lao Luo." Jiang Xia couldn't help but think of Tang Qiuting; it seemed he'd have to find some time to have his wife ask her.
"You'll arrange it?"
Su Qing keenly grasped the key words. Logically speaking, Jiang Xia was a storyboard artist, and most likely the animation supervisor in the project team, but he did not have the right to arbitrarily arrange personnel.
"Well……"
Jiang Xia was quite helpless. He looked at Zhao Ning and Zhou Zijian, then pulled Su Qing to the balcony and closed the sliding door.
"What's wrong? Can't you just say it directly?"
“Okay, I’ll stop pretending. Actually… I’m the producer of Tom and Jerry, the director, and the boss of Qitian Animation,” Jiang Xia said seriously.
Since he'd already let it slip, there was no need to hide it any longer. Everyone in the company knew his true identity anyway, and Su Qing would find out just by going to the company once.
Su Qing "..."
After taking a few deep breaths, his complicated feelings finally calmed down.
"Actually, I've always suspected that you have a relationship with Director Li, but I never expected you to be the boss." Su Qing gave a slight bitter smile.
Given the current popularity of Tom and Jerry, he should be a millionaire with at least several million dollars, maybe even over ten million.
In 2009, an eighteen-year-old millionaire—no one would believe it if you told them.
"Keeping a low profile can save you a lot of trouble," Jiang Xia said with a smile.
He looked towards Building 5 across the street, but unfortunately, he didn't see his wife on the balcony.
“That makes sense. What about Director Li?” Su Qing asked again.
“She’s my godmother. I’m usually busy, so she helps me manage the company,” Jiang Xia said.
Su Qing nodded slightly. Now everything made sense.
"But Aunt Su, don't think that just because you're my roommate and we're close, you can slack off. I don't handle company affairs; everything is decided by my godmother. If she fires you, I won't be able to say anything," Jiang Xia reminded her with a smile.
"...Do I look like that kind of person?" Su Qing couldn't help but roll his eyes. He was still waiting to draw the sports anime that Jiang Xia had mentioned.
"Haha, no, I was just joking."
Su Qing was the most self-disciplined person he had ever met. If even someone like her couldn't submit her tasks on time, others would only become more lazy.
"By the way, Aunt Su, I hope you can keep this a secret for now," Jiang Xia said, looking into his eyes.
He didn't want to become a celebrity at school so soon after enrolling, only to be surrounded by crowds wherever he went.
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
After a brief exchange, the two went inside. Jiang Xia looked at Zhao Ning and Zhou Zijian, who were still learning programming on their own. After thinking for a moment, he hesitated and asked, "Old Zhao, Old Zhou, is it difficult for you to make a video website right now?"
Upon hearing this, Su Qing subconsciously turned his head to look. He, an animator, was now eyeing video websites; he was probably making a new strategic move.
Considering the rapid development of the internet, televisions may soon be obsolete, which shows his remarkable foresight.
"Videos like those on Tudou.com?" Zhao Ning asked.
"Hmm...more or less, but it's still a bit different from traditional video websites," Jiang Xia said after thinking for a moment.
He originally planned to hire a group of programmers to do this, but considering that Qitian Animation's only notable works are Tom and Jerry, and that hiring a group of programmers specifically for website development is not in line with the company's current development strategy, he decided to entrust the task to his roommates who are programming students.
