In a corner of the flowerbed in the square, Shen Ying held a sparkler in one hand and lit it, waving it up and down like a magic wand, drawing fleeting trails in the night.
The cool-colored fireworks weren't dazzling; they only illuminated her delicate face, yet they were warm enough.
Wang Ming chuckled and secretly took a picture with his phone. Although the image was not clear, her clean and smiling profile was still visible.
"You took a picture of me without my permission." Noticing the flash disappear quickly, Shen Ying turned her head and looked at him with a smile.
Wang Ming looked slightly embarrassed. He took back his phone and subconsciously denied it: "No...no."
"Really? Let me see your phone." Shen Ying smiled and held out her hand to him.
"No... I don't need to, do I? I was just filming... filming fireworks," he stammered.
"My Shu Road Mountains!"
Wang Ming's breath hitched.
"One, two..."
He reluctantly took out his phone and handed it over, wondering if his behavior just now would make her dislike him.
"You can't even lie properly. Let me see if you've taken a good picture of me."
Shen Ying smiled gently, turned on the screen, opened the photo album, and found the photo from earlier.
She stood in the night, holding a sparkling sparkler in her hand, which illuminated her beautiful face. She gazed at the burning sparkler, her eyebrows curving into a beautiful crescent moon. A few strands of her hair, blending into the night, were blown to her lips by the evening breeze. The scene was serene and beautiful.
"The photography skills are not bad. Since you didn't make me look ugly, I won't delete it."
She glanced at Wang Ming, who looked embarrassed, but instead of returning the phone to him, she continued to press the buttons to look at the photos he had taken before.
"No! You can't look! Please don't look!"
Wang Ming frantically tried to grab the phone, but she easily dodged it by spinning around.
"Just stand there, don't move." Shen Ying smiled and waved her phone. "So tense, is there something shady inside? That makes me even more curious."
Wang Ming looked utterly dejected, his face ashen. The thought of Shen Ying seeing all the photos he had secretly taken of her made him feel like he wanted to die.
I ruined such a great opportunity today.
Curious, she pressed her phone. To her surprise, the vast majority of the photos on her phone were candid shots of her from various angles. Many of them were taken when she went out with him after returning home in the past few days, and some were taken secretly by him when she was still in high school.
She had absolutely no idea.
"Well, you've taken so many pictures, and you still say you didn't secretly take pictures of me?" she said, feigning anger.
Faced with the facts, Wang Ming was speechless, unable to defend himself, and so ashamed that his ears burned, wishing he could disappear into the ground.
"Tell me, why did you take pictures of me without my permission?" she asked calmly.
"..."
Wang Ming lowered his head guiltily, pursed his lips and remained silent. After hesitating for a long time, he finally stammered, "I...I think you're pretty."
Shen Ying was secretly amused, but still pretended to be angry: "There are plenty of pretty girls on the street, Yan Wan is prettier than me, why don't you take pictures of them?"
"I...I..." he mumbled softly, "I think you're the prettiest."
Shen Ying paused for a moment, turned her head away, and a blush quietly appeared on her face.
That idiot.
"Hmph. Since you're being so honest, I'll give your phone back." She blushed and huffed, handing over the phone but not daring to look him in the eye.
Wang Ming swallowed hard and said, "You...you're not planning to delete it?"
"You took so many photos without my consent, I can't be bothered to delete them." She glared at Wang Ming and snorted softly.
Old Wang looked extremely embarrassed.
"I...I won't take photos secretly anymore."
"Hmm, if you want to take pictures, just tell me. It's not like I'm stopping you from taking pictures."
Wang Ming stared at her with wide eyes, unable to believe his eyes.
Shen Ying walked over to him, stood very close to him, picked up Wang Ming's phone and pointed the rear camera at herself.
She smiled and was about to press the shutter button when she turned around and saw Wang Ming staring at her in a daze.
"Why are you looking at me? Look at the camera!" she muttered under her breath, "You idiot."
"oh oh……"
Wang Ming blushed, held his breath, and turned to look at his phone. He smelled the faint scent of shampoo wafting from her, and his heart pounded with nervousness. This was the first time he had been so close to Shen Ying, and he could see her long eyelashes with just a glance.
She's not angry?!
She wasn't angry?
And she even took a photo with him!
Wang Ming was momentarily distracted, wondering whether he should immediately take out roses and confess his feelings to her, when he heard the sound of a camera shutter.
Shen Ying took her phone back and glanced at it, noticing that Wang Ming's gaze was strange, as if he was looking at her.
"Look, look, you're looking at me again. Can't you take a picture more seriously?" Shen Ying deleted the photo and said irritably.
Upon discovering his little secret, Wang Ming couldn't help but cover his face and say, "I'm sorry."
"Just do it quickly, okay?"
"Yes!" Wang Ming stood at attention.
"That's more like it."
Shen Ying picked up her phone again, took two pictures, adjusted the angle, and smiled slightly.
"Idiot, you're not happy about our date? Smile!"
She told me she was going on a date?!
Wang Ming blinked, his eyes quickly softening. The moment he pressed the shutter button, fireworks burst in the sky behind him.
The image freezes instantly.
Shen Ying glanced at the photo. Against the backdrop of fireworks, the two maintained natural smiles. She tilted her head slightly towards him, and the scene looked very beautiful.
"Look, are you satisfied now?" She handed him the phone, and Wang Ming was flattered.
