After finishing the last paragraph of the script for the Tom and Jerry movie, Jiang Xia rubbed his wrists and let out a soft breath.
I glanced at the time in the lower right corner of the computer screen and realized it was already past 8 p.m. The sky over the capital was completely dark, and outside, the city was ablaze with lights and vibrant colors.
He walked out of the office and saw that some people in the animation team were still working overtime. After asking about the progress of the task, he saw that it hadn't slowed things down too much, so he told them to go home early.
Pushing open the door to the recording studio, I saw Lin Yanwan still diligently arranging music.
“Ul baby, time to get off work~” Jiang Xia said with a gentle smile.
Lin Yanwan said excitedly, "Honey, come and listen to this piece of music, what do you think?"
"Then you play it."
Lin Yanwan nodded, looked at the sheet music in front of her, and slowly pressed the piano keys.
The melodious sound of a piano drifted from inside the room. Jiang Xia closed his eyes and quietly felt it. The gorgeous and agile melody was like the breath of spring, full of youthful vitality. The whole piece had a free and varied rhythm, with the characteristics of a rondo. It was vivid and coherent, which perfectly matched the theme of Tom and Jerry.
At the end, the piece uses a variation of the melody of the first theme, and then concludes the entire piece cleanly and crisply.
Jiang Xia slowly opened his eyes and couldn't help but smile as he asked, "What kind of music is this?"
“The Voices of Spring Waltz is an immortal masterpiece by Johann Strauss II, the famous Austrian musician from my previous life,” Lin Yanwan replied.
"Is this suitable?"
"It's appropriate, but will it involve copyright issues?" Jiang Xia frowned slightly.
“There’s absolutely no need to worry about copyright infringement,” Lin Yanwan said with a smile. “I checked online, and there’s no such person as Johann Strauss Jr. in this world. Besides, even if he did exist, he’s long dead, and his music copyright protection period has expired, so you can use it freely.”
“Then there’s no problem.” Jiang Xia breathed a sigh of relief. “But honey, for a 90-minute animated film, one song isn’t enough. You need to prepare more for me.”
Lin Yanwan nodded: "Okay."
In her previous life, she was a music training class teacher, so she knew a lot of songs and could recite many classic pieces with ease.
"So, are you leaving get off work now?"
"Okay, wait for me a moment, I'll pack up and leave."
Five minutes later, the two walked hand in hand to the parking lot of the science park. Lin Yanwan sat in the passenger seat and looked at the night view of the street through the window, but her stomach started to rumble.
"Want to get something to eat?" Jiang Xia asked.
Lin Yanwan blinked; her good husband still understood her so well.
"I want to eat barbecue."
"Then let's go."
Jiangxia slowly started the car, and more than ten minutes later, they arrived at a popular barbecue stall, where the air was filled with the fragrant aroma of cumin.
Lin Yanwan got out of the car first, and Jiang Xia said, "You go order the food first, I'll go find a parking spot."
"OK."
A few minutes later, Jiang Xia arrived at the barbecue restaurant and found his wife. On the small table was a glass of iced cola and a glass of kumquat lemon tea.
"Why can you drink cola, but I can only drink lemonade?" Jiang Xia protested, adjusting the fan so that the air blowing out was directed at him.
"Because cola kills sperm," she said with a smile.
He even pretended to take a big sip in front of Jiang Xia, and drinking an ice-cold cola on a hot day was incredibly refreshing.
"That statement has been proven false! Talking about toxicity without considering dosage is just being irresponsible!" Jiang Xia muttered.
"That won't work either."
Lin Yanwan gave a soft snort, her protest ineffective. Any factor that could affect their ability to have a child had to be taken seriously.
Although the couple isn't thinking about having children yet and their sex life is quite frequent, this issue shouldn't be taken lightly.
Jiang Xia watched enviously as his wife drank iced cola, while he could only drink lemonade. Although it tasted pretty good and was refreshing and cooling in the summer, it never felt as comfortable as soda.
"What dishes did you order?"
"you guess?"
"I can't guess."
"Hehe, you'll see in a minute~"
Ten minutes later, the owner brought a large plate of grilled meat to the table.
Jiang Xia stared at the bull penis, sheep testicles, chicken kidneys, and pig kidneys in front of him, lost in thought.
"Wife, do you think I'm no good?" His face twitched slightly.
"Of course not, I just saw how hard you work day and night and wanted to give you some nourishment," Lin Yanwan said with a righteous expression.
"But it shouldn't cost that much..."
"I think I didn't get enough. Eat more, eat more!" She blinked.
"I'm telling you, I'm off this weekend. What you're doing is suicidal!"
Jiang Xia got serious. He picked up the skewer of lamb testicles and took a big bite. The barbecue seasoning masked the gamey smell, but the taste was surprisingly good.
As Lin Yanwan watched him devour the dishes, she couldn't help but recall the intriguing expression on the owner's face when he ordered them.
She originally only intended for Jiang Xia to have some nourishment, but she never expected to offer herself up to him.
It seems like I really brought this on myself.
About half an hour later, the two drove home. Along the way, Lin Yanwan blushed and didn't say a word, but the air became ambiguous without her noticing.
As soon as they got home, Jiang Xia pinned her against the door and kissed her delicate lips.
"Husband, I was wrong," Lin Yanwan said pitifully, her voice choked with sobs.
"How could my wise wife be wrong?"
Jiang Xia blocked the doorway with a kind smile on his face: "Darling, you should take responsibility for your own actions. You must have a good reason for being so eager for me to recover."
"Waaaaah, honey, I'm not feeling well today, I think my period is coming."
"Don't try to fool me. Today is only the 3rd. Your period is still at least a week away." Jiang Xia saw through her lie at a glance. He knew his wife's menstrual cycle all too well.
Lin Yanwan knelt on the ground, raising her head, the light casting a series of shadows on her delicate face. (End of Chapter)
