Lin Yanwan waved to them, and then the car quickly drove away.
◇
Under the moonlight and amidst the chirping of cicadas, the four strolled leisurely along the Bauhinia Road.
Si Si suddenly gave the drunk Qiu Ting a gentle push. Qiu Ting lost her balance and fell into Su Qing's arms.
Si Si, reeking of alcohol, glanced at the two of them and teased, "Aunt Su, you take good care of Qiu Ting. You don't need to worry about me and Yingying."
After saying that, she grabbed Cui Jiaying and strode away. Although she tried her best to walk in a straight line, it still looked crooked from behind.
However, the two groups only kept a distance of twenty or thirty meters, which was not far, so that if one of them fell, they could at least look out for each other.
Su Qing looked down at Qiu Ting in her arms, who was drunk and had a flushed face, making her look very cute.
Their hazy gazes met in the air, and Qiu Ting shyly looked away, struggling to get out of Su Qing's arms.
"Brother Su, thank you for helping me just now," Qiu Ting whispered.
"Don't mention it. You're drunk, it's what I should do." He paused, then added to himself, "Actually, I'm a little drunk too."
The two walked side by side. In the quiet, deserted environment, Su Qing smelled the alcohol emanating from Qiu Ting and inexplicably felt a dry mouth. She could even hear her own heartbeat.
He chuckled inwardly, realizing he must really be drunk; otherwise, why would he keep looking at Qiu Ting for no reason?
As she was walking, Qiu Ting suddenly twisted her ankle without paying attention. She gasped in pain but forced herself not to cry out.
"Look, you weren't paying attention while walking, and you twisted your ankle! Does it hurt?"
Su Qing stopped and instinctively reached out to support one of her arms.
"It doesn't hurt much." Qiu Ting shook her head slightly, but beads of sweat had already appeared on the tip of her nose. It was hard to tell whether it was because she had been drinking or because her sprained ankle was still very painful.
"Don't stand up yet, sit on the curb and let me see how serious it is."
Su Qing helped Qiu Ting sit down on the curb. He exercises regularly and is quite knowledgeable about sprained ankles.
The two people walking ahead also stopped. Cui Jiaying turned around and looked at them, wondering whether she should go over and help them.
"Qiu Ting seems to have sprained her ankle. Should we go over and take a look?" she asked.
“Why would you go there? To be a third wheel? Su Qing is right there. This is a perfect opportunity to nurture their relationship, and you’re actually thinking of disturbing them.”
"That's right."
Si Siyi pulled Cui Jiaying's little hand: "Come on, my silly baby, stop looking..."
The long skirt cascaded down Qiu Ting's delicate calves. Su Qing squatted down, her gaze shifting from Qiu Ting's smooth skin. She gently removed Qiu Ting's white shoes, revealing white socks with some lace trim.
Qiu Ting's face immediately flushed. She leaned back slightly, supporting herself with her hands on the ground, watching Brother Su carefully examine her small feet with his hands.
Children who grow up in the mountains tend to have more conservative ideas, and this was the first time in her life that she had been so close to a member of the opposite sex.
But during her year at Tsinghua University, besides Jiang Xia, the only person who treated her the best was Brother Su. He had a very pleasant scent that made people want to get closer.
"Brother Su... your feet are dirty, smelly... smelly," Qiu Ting said in a very soft voice with a shy expression.
"Don't overthink it, it's very clean and doesn't smell at all. My feet smell much worse than yours."
Qiu Ting stared blankly as Su Qing joked with her. Thinking of what her older brother Su had said about her stinky feet, she suddenly felt less embarrassed.
Su Qing looked up at her and said seriously, "Qiu Ting, I'm going to take off your socks, otherwise I don't know how badly you sprained your ankle."
"Hmm..." Qiu Ting nodded very slightly.
Then I saw Brother Su pull on the top of his sock and slowly pull it off, gradually revealing his fair little foot. Perhaps because he had just twisted it, his skin looked a little red, but fortunately there was no obvious swelling.
Does it hurt here?
Su Qing gently pinched her foot, but saw that she arched her foot, her delicate toes curled up, and her whole face turned red.
"Qiu Ting, relax a bit."
"It doesn't hurt much, but Brother Su... you're pressing on the soles of my feet, it's so itchy," Qiu Ting said shyly.
If Su Qing could remain calm just now through her socks, now that her entire little foot was exposed to him without any cover, and he was squeezing it wantonly, from her perspective it looked as if she had willingly offered her little foot to him to play with. Instantly, her heart pounded like a deer, and her ears turned red.
"I'm...sorry."
Su Qing felt slightly embarrassed and tried to concentrate on not thinking about other things: "What about here?"
"Eeya—"
He gently pressed his thumb on the junction of the talus and tibia, and Qiu Ting instinctively tried to pull her foot back.
"...It hurts a little."
"Looks like this is where I sprained my ankle. Luckily, there was no soft tissue or bone damage. I'll buy a bottle of ice water at the dorm store when I get back and let it cool for a while. It should be almost healed by tonight, but I should try not to run or jump during this time to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on the injury."
Su Qing rubbed it with a little force, which helped relieve the pain and reduce swelling and bruising.
"Okay, I understand. Thank you, Brother Su."
Then, Su Qing helped him put on his socks and thoughtfully put on his shoes.
"By the way, the socks are cute," he said with a smile.
Qiu Ting blushed instantly.
She braced herself against the ground and tried to stand up. She took a couple of steps, but found that her sprained ankle still couldn't bear weight. If she were conscious, she could slowly limp back, but now she estimated that she would fall again after only a few steps.
