Chapter 428 Shen Ying's parents were shocked

"I just finished the annual inspection for my car not long ago. There were some problems with the brakes and headlights before, but they're all fixed now. The tire pressure is normal, and the gas tank is full, so I can drive with peace of mind."

Jiang Wende took out the car keys and handed them to Wang Ming, reminding him, "You just got your driver's license, so you're a new driver. Be careful while driving, okay? Don't go too fast, pay attention to the road, watch out for pedestrians at intersections, and call me if anything happens."

Wang Ming nodded, but did not take the keys.

"Uncle Jiang, I have the key here. Please keep it with you. I'll only be driving the car for two days. After that, I'll need your help with maintenance."

"Alright, no trouble at all, it's a piece of cake," Jiang Wende said with a smile. "By the way, where's Jiang Xia? Why didn't he come back with you?"

"The Tom and Jerry movie just had its preview screenings, and he's been running around doing promotional events. I only had a chance to come back because I asked him for leave. Once I've finished things here, I have to rush back immediately," Wang Ming said.

Jiang Wende then remembered that his son seemed to have mentioned this to him a couple of days ago, and that he probably wouldn't be able to come home for the Chinese New Year again this year.

Sigh, even after starting a company and becoming a boss, I still have to be busy all day long, and I don't even have time to reunite with my family during the Chinese New Year.

Looking back now, being a boss doesn't seem as great as I imagined.

Or, why don't we just go to Beijing again with the child's mother?

Forget it, he'll probably be busy even if we go to the capital, so we still won't have a chance to reunite.

"I heard that you were in charge of producing this film?" Jiang Wende asked with a smile.

Wang Ming scratched his head sheepishly: "Jiang Xia is too busy, so I just helped him with some of the work. I'm already doing well as long as I didn't cause any trouble."

"I read the online reviews today, and the new movie is said to be very good. When it's shown in theaters in my hometown during the Spring Festival, I'll go and buy a ticket," Jiang Wende chuckled.

"Hehehe, thank you, Uncle Jiang."

"You probably haven't had dinner yet, have you? Your aunt is just preparing dinner. Why don't you eat before you go?"

"No, no, Uncle Jiang, I have something to do, so I won't trouble you." Wang Ming shook his head and refused.

"All right."

Jiang Wende felt a little regretful. He wanted to take advantage of the meal to ask Wang Ming how his son was doing lately.

"Okay, then drive slowly. Don't rush at intersections. Stop when you need to. Better to wait three minutes than risk one second."

"I understand, Uncle Jiang."

"Go on, go on," Jiang Wende patted him on the shoulder, "Good luck!"

Wang Ming opened the car door and got in. He adjusted his position, fastened his seatbelt, and turned the key to start the engine: "Uncle Jiang, I'll be going now."

"Okay, be careful." Jiang Wende waved and said with a smile.

He pulled the handbrake, pressed the clutch, shifted into first gear, turned on the turn signal, and then slightly released the clutch, and the car slowly started moving.

Jiang Wende watched Wang Ming drive away. His operation was methodical and steady, clearly indicating that he was a novice. However, he did not stall the engine when starting the car for the first time, which was quite reliable.

Wang Ming drove home slowly in third gear the whole time. Although it was his first time driving his own car, he wasn't nervous at all. He arrived safely at his apartment complex, parked in the garage, and then took the elevator upstairs.

Having not been home for almost two years, the house had a strong musty smell. He first opened the window to let in some fresh air, then pulled off the sheets covering the sofa, and swept and mopped the floor to do a simple cleaning, so at least there was a place to sit.

After doing all that, he ran to a small restaurant near the neighborhood, ordered two plates of stir-fry, and a large bowl of white rice, and ate it in big mouthfuls.

On the other side.

Shen Ying quietly returned home, took out her key, and silently opened the door, only to see her mother making her favorite sweet and sour pork ribs.

"Mom! I'm home!"

She suddenly hugged her from behind, startling her elderly mother, Ye Qiuju.

"Ah! Yingying, you scared me to death!"

Ye Qiuju patted her chest in surprise, and after calming down, she looked at her daughter and saw a happy smile on her face.

"Why did you suddenly come back without any warning? I was just about to call you to ask where you were."

"Hehehe, secretly, I wanted to give you a surprise." Shen Ying shook her mother's arm and asked, "Where's Dad?"

Ye Qiuju glanced at the wall clock: "He should have just gotten off work. He'll be back in a little while."

"You two haven't been arguing during this time, have you?" Shen Ying asked cautiously.

In her memory, her parents would argue every now and then over trivial matters, and sometimes it would affect her. The atmosphere at home was often very serious, so she didn't like going home and often envied Jiang Xia and Yan Wan's family.

However, when they weren't arguing, the elderly couple were very good to their daughter.

"Why would I argue with him for no reason?" Ye Qiuju couldn't help but pout.

"Hehe, it's good that there was no arguing."

Shen Ying took her suitcase to her room, tidied up a bit, and then went to the kitchen to help her mother prepare dinner. Not long after, Shen Jianjun came home from get off work wearing his work clothes.

He saw Shen Ying's shoes on the shoe rack, peeked into the kitchen, and saw the mother and daughter were there.

"Yingying's back from vacation?" A smile appeared on the old father's weathered face.

"Yes, Dad, I just got home not long ago."

Shen Ying smiled sweetly and ran over to get her father a glass of warm water and handed it to him.

"Hmm, don't touch me, I'm dirty."

"Put the dirty clothes in the laundry tub, I'll wash them tonight," Ye Qiuju said casually.

Shen Jianjun nodded, finished the water in his cup, and casually took off his dirty work jacket and threw it into the laundry sink.
