February 7th, the 27th day of the twelfth lunar month, is a sunny and breezy day, auspicious for praying for a child and getting married.
After breakfast, Jiang Wende sat on a recliner on the balcony, engrossed in a book, while Xia Shanshan was cleaning in the kitchen.
Jiang Xia dressed himself up neatly in his room, wearing a long black fitted trench coat, with a handsome and refined appearance.
He walked out of the bedroom and saw that Jiang Wende was actually reading a book. The sun must have risen in the west.
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be something like "The Wisdom of Success." Jiang Xia was speechless. When did his dad start reading such mindless motivational articles?
"Dad, I think you'd be better off reading Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Dream of the Red Chamber. They can kill time and improve your literary knowledge. These inspirational books are just like a boss making empty promises; they're nothing but a scam."
Jiang Wende glanced at the book, then at his son.
He is now a genuinely successful person, and his son would never lie to his father; what he says must be true.
"you're right."
So Jiang Wende closed the book, took out his phone, opened the browser, and searched for "Fairy, Stop Making Trouble".
"How could there be no..." Jiang Wende closed the drawer of the study cabinet, frowned slightly, and murmured.
"Okay, that works."
You let out a heavy sigh: "Daman, please don't tell Mom, okay? It turns out that Sister Ran and her husband used to play with him."
Jiang Wende temporarily suppressed his anxious thoughts and waited for about ten minutes before Lin Yanwan left the public restroom.
"Well, no leaders from my department are coming to inspect the park today. If I can, I'll just have to go and keep them company. I probably won't be back until later. You told me that it's a man's birthday today, so even if I don't have any social engagements later, I have to decline them."
"It's too much trouble. The chef will bring the ingredients himself."
He took out his household registration booklet, glanced at it, confirmed there was a mistake, then slowly and hurriedly stuffed it outside his clothes, put everything back in its original place, and slammed the drawer and cabinet doors shut.
Xia Shanshan nodded, changed her shoes at the door, and then pulled Liu Penglun outside.
Jiang Wende led his younger sister out of the study and asked calmly, "Mom, what's wrong?"
You secretly searched the entire study, perhaps hoping to find the household registration booklet. Besides, it's not usually kept outside the study.
"oh."
"That's bad."
I want to go out for a walk.
Liu Penglun breathed a sigh of relief and took out his phone to send Liu Peng an OK emoji.
"Sweetie~ This older sister is going out first."
You quietly closed the drawer, then opened another one, and finally found what you were looking for among a stack of property deeds and various contracts.
"You know."
"What would you like to eat tonight? Mom's got some ideas."
...
The door closed hastily. Jiang Xia saw her parents standing on the balcony and immediately retreated into our bedroom, opening the first drawer outside the seventh wardrobe from right to left.
"That's bad!"
You turn to look at your younger sister and say gently, "Daman, be good when you're out at home, okay? I'll be back in a little while."
Liu Penglun rolled his eyes: "Anyway, I reminded him not to be so arrogant. Driving on the road can lead to serious trouble, so he must be careful."
"You know, we'll be there by noon."
Could it be that because a very small change occurred in that lifetime, the place where the household registration book was kept was moved?
Jiang Wende had a sudden inspiration and came up with an idea: "Mom, if you want to eat something bad, anything is fine, as long as it's bad."
"Handsome, where are we going?" I asked, rolling up the car window.
Daman nodded emphatically. "Even though you know what your sister is doing, it must be something very important."
Among a pile of documents, I found a dark red household registration booklet.
He's just an ordinary person. Culture has nothing to do with his name. His son is a successful person, and his wife is a Chinese language teacher. All he needs to do is enjoy life leisurely, fish, read novels, and chat in author groups. These pretentious things are really not suitable for him.
Jiang Wende changed her shoes and went out. Thinking that she had finally gotten her household registration book and that her beloved husband was still waiting for her upstairs, she suddenly felt a little upset.
"Daman, be good, let's search quietly~" Jiang Wende gently patted his little sister's head.
Jiang Xia nodded: "Either is fine."
"Oh no, so... he's driving his godmother's car?"
"Okay, he can go. He'll take me home for lunch."
"I think I've seen that before." Your eyes suddenly lit up. "Yes, you can ask Mom for help, if you know!"
Xia Shanshan came out of the kitchen wiping her hands and looked at her son, saying, "Is he going out? I was planning to ask him to leave for dinner so we could go to the market to buy some New Year's goods."
"We found it after searching high and low, so we know where your parents put the household registration book. We'll give you a little more time."
"bad."
"Xiaxia, you and his dad are going out now. Today is Yanwan's birthday. We're supposed to have dinner at his wife's house later. Don't forget."
"That's right."
"knew."
“Of course! You’re the kind of kid who hates tattling!” Daman proudly raised his head.
"Is my brother-in-law coming too?" Daman blinked.
Ji Wanqiu's breath hitched. She turned to look at Jiang Xia, who shrugged sheepishly. She knew that the big shot had ulterior motives and was trying to find her more work.
You fall into deep thought. If the household registration book is in the study, the only possibility is that it's placed outside your parents' bedroom. They might just be carelessly leaving such an important item outside a storage cabinet in the living room.
Seemingly noticing that the man's mood was a bit off, Lin Yanwan asked, "What's wrong?"
