Chapter 54 Sample Footage Released

Jiang Xia jogged back home and found the elderly couple lying on the sofa watching TV. He threw his schoolbag onto his bed and went into the study.

"Hey, wait a minute, where are you going?" Xia Shanshan called out to him in time.

Jiang Xia answered confidently, "Go online."

"Have the monthly exam results come out yet? What score did you get? We made a deal last time: if you do poorly, you can forget about touching the computer or phone."

"I don't know the total score, but I'm ranked 48th in the whole school."

"Really?"

Xia Shanshan looked skeptical, after all, this ranking had far exceeded her expectations. Who could improve their grades so rapidly in such a short period of time?

"You have such discerning eyes. I can fool you for a while, but can I fool you forever?" Jiang Xia said helplessly.

"That's true, I doubt you'd dare lie to your mom." Xia Shanshan then asked, "How did Xiaoman's older sister do on her exams?"

"Same as always, number one in the whole school."

"Then you still need to work harder." She said meaningfully.

"So, can I go online now?"

"Go on, go on, but be mindful of the time, and go to bed early later."

Jiang Xia nodded in agreement, went into the study, turned on the computer, and continued editing the video.

The production of the first episode has already exceeded ten days, so we need to finish the current process as soon as possible and hand over the complete video to Lin Yanwan for post-production dubbing.

Three days later, Jiang Xia finally finished editing.

After rendering the sample footage of the first episode, he watched it over and over again, adjusted the frame rate in several places, and only after confirming that there were no errors did he send the sample footage to his wife via QQ.

[Jiang Hanhan]: Baby, the rest of the work is up to you. Please give this masterpiece a soul.

[Lin Baobao]: I will try my best.

Lin Yan watched the video later. Unlike the previous 30-second clip, this video was 7 minutes and 48 seconds long, including the complete opening and closing credits. The picture was smooth and the pixel quality was high. Except for the lack of sound, it was no different from the final product.

She didn't remember some of the scenes, which were probably Jiang Xia's original creations, but the overall presentation of the episode was the same as the original work. After all, no matter how good a person's memory is, it's impossible to perfectly replicate every frame.

What Jiang Xia was expressing was his image of cats and mice.

On Saturday afternoon, Lin Yanwan sent a message to Jiang Xia, saying that the dubbing was finished and asking him to come over when he had time to see how it went.

He was instantly energized, and without much thought, he grabbed his schoolbag and left.

"Mom, I'm going to the library. I already made an appointment with someone."

"With whom?"

"First in the grade."

"Then why don't you hurry up and go? Are you going to stay home and wait for me to cook for you?"

Jiang Xia's face contorted in anger. How could her mother's attitude change so quickly when the topic turned to being number one in the grade?

The door closed gently, and Xia Shanshan once again felt that her initial decision was absolutely correct.

Since my son started dating the top student in his grade, his grades have improved by leaps and bounds. Now, they even choose to go to the library for their dates, swimming together in the ocean of knowledge, supervising each other, and making progress together. They are truly an enviable couple.

Thinking of this, Xia Shanshan took out her phone and sent a text message to her son.

"Take care of your own dinner. There's no rice at home, and there won't be anything for you to eat when you get back."

Upon seeing his mother's text message, Jiang Xia was suddenly rendered speechless.

There are always two bags of rice at home, and we immediately buy another one when one is finished. So when his mother tells him that there is no rice, he doesn't believe a word of it.

Are you just going to let him spend time with Lin Yanwan like this? Aren't you afraid that the two of them will start dating too early?

However, since his mother had issued an imperial decree, he had no choice but to obey.

Jiang Xia first went to the market to buy the vegetables that Lin Yanwan usually liked to eat, and also bought two small cakes, which he would share with his wife and sister-in-law later, before taking a taxi to his wife's house.

Ding-dong!

He rang the doorbell, and immediately heard his sister-in-law's wary voice from inside.

Who is it?

"Little girl, I'm here to pay back the money to your mother." Jiang Xia deliberately changed his voice when he spoke to her.

My mother isn't here.

"Can you open the door? I'll give you the money."

"No, Mom won't let me open the door for strangers. You can come back when Mom comes back."

Seeing that her sister-in-law was so aware of how to avoid being scammed, Jiang Xia decisively changed her approach: "I'm about to leave this city, kid. Can you open the door a crack, slip the money in, and I'll leave?"

"I won't open it, I won't open it. Mom isn't back, and I won't open it no matter who comes."

Hearing his sister-in-law start singing, Jiang Xia was inexplicably amused. He cleared his throat and called out again, "Xiao Man, open the door. It's your brother Jiang Xia."

"Huh?"

Lin Xiaoman glanced at the door with some surprise, slowly walked over, and hesitantly asked, "Are you really Brother Jiang Xia? You're not lying to me, are you?"

"If Xiaoman doesn't open the door, I won't teach you to draw anymore."

Hearing the familiar voice this time, Lin Xiaoman believed it completely. She excitedly opened the door and, sure enough, saw Jiang Xia standing outside.

"Wow, Brother Jiang Xia, it really is you! Waaaaah, Xiaoman missed you so much."

His sister-in-law hugged his knees and rubbed them hard against his face.

Jiang Xia patted her head and smiled, "Xiaoman, you have a great sense of crisis. But you must remember in the future that you must not open the door except for your family, no matter how wonderful other people's words are."

"Of course Xiaoman knows! That's how the big bad wolf eats the little white rabbit, hee hee."

"Mmm, this is a reward for Xiaoman." Jiang Xia smiled and handed over the small cake.

"Wow, a cake! It looks so delicious! I knew it, Jiang Xia is the best to me!"

Jiang Xia smiled without saying a word, went inside to change his shoes, put the groceries in the refrigerator, then knocked on his wife's bedroom door and pushed it open.

"Baby, I'm here."

Lin Yanwan did not answer, and continued to adjust the pitch using the tuning software. She could not achieve the same level of perfect coordination as a symphony orchestra, so she could only synthesize the parts one by one, but fortunately the effect was good.

Jiang Xia placed the small cake in front of Lin Yanwan, and after Lin Yanwan adjusted it, Jiang Xia turned on the video and background sound effects at the same time.

As the opening sequence unfolds, the sounds of a piano and a clarinet simultaneously fill the air, creating a light and cheerful melody.

"Stop," Jiang Xia suddenly said.

Lin Yanwan immediately pressed the pause button.

"When the opening credits transition into the main content, the background music should gradually decrease and then seamlessly switch to the sound effect of Jerry running away. Although the current version sounds okay, the transition is a bit abrupt," Jiang Xia said.

"Okay, I'll revise it in a bit." Lin Yanwan inserted a keyframe for that scene and then made a note.

The video and background sound effects continued to play. In just over seven minutes, Jiang Xia heard all sorts of sound effects he couldn't name. Combined with the interesting animated scenes, it was as if the entire cartoon suddenly had a soul.

Despite the many flaws, it's easy to imagine how perfect the final product will be.
