Chapter 79 Kissing Leads to Baby

As Jiang Xia stepped out of the elevator, he bumped into his mother-in-law, who was returning home from grocery shopping, in the residential area.

"Hello, Aunt Ji." He immediately stopped and greeted her politely.

"Hey, Xia? What are you doing here?"

After asking the question instinctively, Ji Wanqiu immediately realized that this young man must have come to see her daughter again.

The two were inseparable when they were still in school, and now that they've graduated, they're probably together all the time. Although she doesn't approve of her daughter's relationship, there's no denying that Jiang Xia is a really good guy.

"I just brought Xiaoman home on my mother's orders," he said with a faint smile, never mentioning his wife, yet his words were always about her.

Furthermore, Jiang Xia also played a little trick.

His mother is Xia Shanshan, but Xiaoman's mother is Ji Wanqiu. Moreover, he used the word "pick up" instead of "send off," so it's quite intriguing who his mother was referring to at that moment.

Based on Jiang Xia's repeated experiences of calling the wrong "Mom," Ji Wanqiu pretended not to understand the implied meaning.

She smiled and said, "Xiaoman, are you home yet? Thank you. Would you like to come upstairs and play a little longer? I bought some fish today, so I'll try your aunt's fish cooking."

"No, thank you for your kindness, Auntie, but I have things to do at home. My mom has called me many times already." Jiang Xia declined with a smile. He knew when to stop; sometimes being too shameless could backfire and make the other person feel uncomfortable.

Anyway, she's my mother-in-law, and I'll have plenty of opportunities to freeload meals in the future, so there's no rush.

"Oh, okay then. Maybe next time. Don't refuse next time, okay?" Ji Wanqiu said with a smile. "Take care on the road."

"See you next time, Auntie."

Goodbye, Xia.

Watching Jiang Xia leave, Ji Wanqiu lowered her head thoughtfully. If her daughter really liked him, should she find an opportunity to sound him out?

If he's just playing around, it's best to let his daughter give up on that idea.

She pondered this to herself and slowly walked towards the elevator.

At home, after seeing Jiang Xia off, Lin Xiaoman kept staring at her sister's belly, and the strange look in her eyes puzzled her.

"Xiaoman, what have you been looking at? Is my outfit weird today?" Lin Yanwan looked down, but no, even that guy thought it looked good.

There was a half-second of silence in the air. Lin Xiaoman looked at her belly and said very seriously, "Sister, will you have a baby soon?"

Lin Yanwan was immediately stunned, then her face flushed red: "How is that possible!"

She angrily pinched her younger sister's chubby cheeks and gritted her teeth, saying, "What are you thinking about all day instead of studying properly?"

"Ouch, it hurts, sister." Lin Xiaoman pouted, looking a little aggrieved. "Xiaomei told me all this. She said she secretly saw her parents kissing and said that if a girl kisses someone, she'll have a baby. But my sister has kissed her brother-in-law so many times."

Lin Yanwan was speechless. Although she had thought so at the time, it was incredibly awkward to be asked this by her own sister.

It's all Jiangxia's fault!

"She's talking nonsense. How could kissing possibly result in a baby!"

"Then sister, how can you give birth?" Lin Xiaoman asked innocently.

"Of course I want to..." She suddenly froze halfway through her sentence, utterly exasperated, almost being led astray by a child.

"What do you want?" Lin Xiaoman continued, "My brother-in-law said that peeping at other people kissing won't give you a sty, and my sister said that girls kissing won't make babies. I'm going to tell Xiaomei tomorrow that she's completely wrong."

"Just watch your TV, this isn't something you should be concerned about! You'll find out later... you'll find out later." Lin Yanwan said, her face flushed.

I've been with Jiang Xia and his wife for eight years. We've tried every position imaginable, and we've both been to the hospital for checkups. There's nothing wrong with us, but we just can't have a child, which is really strange.

"Sister, why is your face red? Are you thinking about your husband? If you are, give him a call."

"I didn't!"

Just then, the sound of a key being inserted into the lock rang out, and Lin Yanwan immediately put her finger to her lips: "Shh!"

She looked at her younger sister and threatened, "You're not allowed to tell Mom and Dad these things, or I won't take you out to play anymore, and I won't buy you any good food!"

"My brother-in-law will definitely buy it for me!"

"Your brother-in-law is my husband. Do you think he listens to you or me?" Lin Yanwan narrowed her eyes.

"Yes! Xiaoman remembers, Xiaoman won't tell anyone except her sister and brother-in-law!" She stood up straight and imitated Tom the cat's movements, zipping her mouth from one side to the other like a zipper.

“You can’t tell your brother-in-law either!” Lin Yanwan glared at her.

If he knew what I said, he'd probably make some more unreasonable demands.

"Xiaoman, Yanwan, Mom is back."

The door opened at that moment, and Ji Wanqiu carried the groceries into the room. Lin Xiaoman called out "Mama, Mama" and ran over to hug her leg.

"I just ran into Xia downstairs," Ji Wanqiu said to her daughter, seemingly casually.

"Yes, it was my sister..." Lin Yanwan immediately revealed a terrifying look. Lin Xiaoman stuck out her tongue and changed her words, "It was my sister and brother Jiang Xia who took Xiaoman home."

She silently breathed a sigh of relief.

She prayed in her heart that Xiaoman would not say anything wrong in front of her parents.

Jiang Xia returned home, and Xia Shanshan had just returned from grocery shopping. She glanced at her son who had just come home and guessed that he had probably spent the whole day with his wife.

It seems it's time for his father to give him a lesson on the relationship between men and women.

After all, the man and woman were in love, and a man and a woman alone in a room together was like dry wood that could easily ignite. If they were to act impulsively and cause a death during the summer vacation, the Jiang family would lose all face, and people might even point fingers and curse them for being immoral.

The key issue is that this is bad for the reputation of other people's daughters.

"You're back?"

"Hmm." Jiang Xia felt inexplicably guilty, as if she couldn't escape her mother's sharp eyes no matter what she did.

Xia Shanshan came out of the kitchen wiping her hands: "I haven't asked you yet, how did your exam go?"

"I performed normally and feel good about myself." Seeing that his mother wasn't asking about his children, he relaxed a lot.

"Do you think this year's exam was difficult? I asked several friends, and they all said that this year's national exam was very difficult."

"It's so-so, about the same as usual."

Jiang Xia wasn't wrong; he did it smoothly and didn't find the whole test paper particularly difficult.

Hearing this, Xia Shanshan felt relieved. With his current grades, as long as he performed normally during the exam, getting into a top-tier university wouldn't be a problem, and with a bit of luck, he might even get into a top-tier university.

"Aren't you going to explain to me why Xiaoman called you brother-in-law?"
