"Can you explain to me what this is?"
With a flushed face, Shen Ying picked up the small pink square bag and held it in front of him, gritting her teeth in anger. How could he carry such a thing around? Did he really think she was the kind of girl who was casual about things?
No wonder he's been testing her bed little by little; he wants to sleep with her. He's probably been planning this for a long time.
Wang Ming was also bewildered, and stammered as he looked at the small umbrella, "I...I...I don't know."
"It fell out of your pocket, and you don't know?" Shen Ying raised an eyebrow slightly.
Old Wang shook his head vigorously: "I really don't know, I've only ever bought flowers downstairs, never this kind of thing."
He suddenly remembered that when he left home in the morning, his mother helped him tidy his clothes. Could it be that she secretly put the clothes in there when he wasn't looking?
"Then how did this thing end up in your pocket?"
Wang Ming scratched his head and said uncertainly, "It's possible that my mom put it there secretly."
"Huh? Auntie?"
Upon hearing this, Shen Ying's eyes widened, and she blushed slightly: "How could Auntie..."
Does this mean they're treating her like a future daughter-in-law?
“My mom has never interfered too much in my life since I was a child. Now that she sees us dating, she’s probably worried that we might not be careful and try something forbidden. Having this makes it less likely that something will go wrong,” Wang Ming said after thinking for a moment.
Shen Ying was slightly speechless. Her aunt was really thoughtful. As expected of someone with experience, she knew much more than the young people.
"Silly boy, I'm a pretty traditional girl. I can kiss and hug you, but that thing, I hope you won't force me. At least I'm not ready yet," she said earnestly.
"Me too... I'm content just to hold your hand, a hug is an unexpected delight, I haven't thought about anything else." Wang Ming looked into her eyes with a sincere expression.
Shen Ying wrinkled her nose. This was the silly boy she remembered—not good with words, often blushing, and sometimes like a block of wood when it came to relationships.
"Hmph, I hope you can do it. I'm getting up and washing up. You can stay in bed."
She gave a soft hum, not wanting to continue the discussion. After all, it was her most important possession, and she wouldn't give it away so easily.
Wang Ming looked helplessly at the small umbrella she had thrown on the bed and sighed softly. His mother was actually giving him a helping hand. Luckily, he explained in time. If she had been misunderstood, Shen Ying would probably have ignored him for a long time.
A little while later, Shen Ying finished washing up and came out of the bathroom. She had changed into another set of clothes: classic jeans and a t-shirt, with her hair tied in a high ponytail. She looked very youthful and lively.
"Ying, shall we go get breakfast?" Wang Ming asked.
"Hmm, I'm a little hungry. What are some good breakfast options in Beijing?"
"Braised pork offal with wheat cake?"
"What's that? Braised meat?"
"Um... it's braised pig intestines, small intestines, lungs, and things like tofu skin and vermicelli."
"Ugh, no, that sounds disgusting."
Wang Ming thought about it carefully. Everyone said that the capital city was a food desert. The only specialties left were fried liver, mutton offal soup, and fermented mung bean juice, which Shen Ying probably wouldn't like to eat.
"How about steamed buns, fried dough sticks, noodles? Or tofu pudding, or jianbing guozi would also be fine."
"Let's take a look first?"
Wang Ming nodded slightly.
The two then took the elevator downstairs, left the hotel, and strolled around the surrounding breakfast shops before finally choosing the more affordable Old Beijing Fried Noodles.
After breakfast, Wang Ming took Shen Ying to see the Great Wall. The two strolled around, eating and enjoying themselves, leaving happy footprints in many places.

Li Weiya left work early today and went to the market to buy a bunch of groceries, planning to cook a nice meal at home as a welcome dinner for her future daughter-in-law.
"Xia, remember to come to my house for dinner after you and Yanwan get off work today."
"Okay!" Jiang Xia said with a laugh on the phone. "Godmother, are A-Ming and Shen Ying coming too?"
"If that kid can't bring Shen Ying back, you'll see if I don't teach him a lesson!"
Li Weiya said with a smile, "Alright, that's settled. Remember to come over for dinner with Yanwan after get off work, don't forget!"
After hanging up the phone, Jiang Xia shook his head with a wry smile. His godmother had finally come to understand what it was like to be a mother-in-law; her reaction was just like his own mother's.
He opened QQ and sent a message to Wang Ming: "Old Wang, your godmother wants you to bring Shen Ying home for dinner tonight. If you don't, she'll skin you alive."
There was no reply for a long time after the message was sent, so it seems the two of them were having a great time.
On the Great Wall, Shen Ying stood on the beacon tower, gazing into the magnificent distance. The mountains stretched like a sea, and the Great Wall resembled a giant dragon winding through the towering peaks.
Her eyes were filled with excitement. It is said that one is not a true hero until one has climbed the Great Wall. Today, she climbed the Hero's Slope, which can be considered as fulfilling her wish.
Wang Ming picked a good angle to take a beautiful photo of Shen Ying. She turned around and looked at her boyfriend with a smile: "Silly boy, come here and let's take a picture together."
Wang Ming immediately ran over excitedly, turned on the front camera of his phone, and made a peace sign. Shen Ying then secretly leaned closer to his cheek. The image then froze, with the Great Wall and mountains as the background, capturing the two of them in an intimate photo.
"Are you tired?" He handed over a bottle of mineral water.
"Phew, a little bit." Shen Ying wiped the sweat from her face, took the mineral water and drank it down without any hesitation.
Beijing is very hot in July, with an average temperature of over 30 degrees Celsius. Even though it was a cloudy day today, I was still exhausted after climbing the mountain for several hours.
"Do you want to keep playing or go back?" Wang Ming asked.
Shen Ying glanced at the time; it was almost four in the afternoon. They had already visited all the famous scenic spots along the Badaling section of the Great Wall, and Wang Ming's phone album was full of photos of the two of them.
“Go back,” she said.
I've had enough fun today. Being with people I like makes everything I do enjoyable.
"Ying, my mom wants us to come home for dinner tonight," Wang Ming said, pursing his lips.
Li Weiya just called him and told him that he must bring Shen Ying home no matter what.
“Go...home?” Shen Ying was stunned.
"Yeah, my mom made dinner at home and asked us to go back together."
"But didn't we agree to get together with Jiang Xia and Yan Wan today?"
“They’re going too,” Wang Ming said with a smile. “Because you’ve finally come all this way to the capital, they all want to give you a welcome-back dinner.”
Shen Ying didn't believe that at all. It was obvious that her future mother-in-law wanted to meet her, and that she was making dinner at home to show how much she valued her.
If that's the case, she should be very happy.
"Then... I'll go buy Auntie some gifts!"
Shen Ying said, her face flushed. (End of Chapter)
