Chapter 395 I've Decided on You in My Life
The car stopped at the gate of Xuanyuan Pavilion Villa, and Aunt Zhang was already waiting at the door.
Seeing the car, she hurried forward: “Miss Shen, Mr. Qi.”
"Auntie Zhang, how is Xunxun?" Shen Hanxing asked softly.
"He just fell asleep. His fever is gone, but he hasn't eaten much." Aunt Zhang opened the door. "I packed up all his things."
Qi Moxun followed Zhang Ma into the villa and soon came out holding Xunxun.
Xunxun is thinner than Chengcheng. At this moment, he has his eyes closed and his brows slightly furrowed, as if he is having an unhappy dream.
Qi Moxun held him carefully, his movements as gentle as if he were treating a fragile treasure.
Xunxun was startled, hummed twice, and opened his eyes dazedly. Seeing Chen Hanxing, he immediately stretched out his little hand: "Mom..."
"Xunxun, be good. Mommy is here." Chen Hanxing freed one hand and held his little hand. "Let's go home."
Xunxun then closed her eyes in peace, her little hands tightly clasped her fingers, and soon fell into a deep sleep again.
Soon, a small figure ran out from the living room. It was Chengcheng.
He was wearing teddy bear pajamas and his hair was messy. When he saw Shen Hanxing, his eyes lit up instantly, like ignited stars.
“Mom!” He shouted and rushed over, hugging Shen Hanxing’s legs tightly, rubbing his little face against her trouser legs, “You really came to pick me up!”
"Of course, Mom said she would pick you up soon."
Shen Hanxing squatted down and held him in her arms, "Do you miss your mother?"
"I miss you!" Chengcheng buried his face in the crook of her neck, his voice muffled, "I miss you every day, and mom is finally here."
When Qi Moxun saw Chengcheng, a gentle smile appeared on his face.
Chengcheng looked at Qi Moxun curiously, his brows slightly furrowed, obviously wary of this man.
Shen Hanxing said softly: “Chengcheng, why don’t you say hello?”
Qi Moxun didn't care about the child's alienation. He took out a small Ultraman pendant from his pocket and handed it to Chengcheng.
"This one is for you," he said softly, "It's a good friend of the one in your hand."
Chengcheng's eyes lit up. He looked at the pendant, then at Qi Moxun. After hesitating for a moment, he stretched out his little hand to take it and whispered, "Thank you, uncle."
"You're welcome." Qi Moxun smiled and helped them close the car door.
Sitting back in the car, Chengcheng immediately put the new Ultraman pendant together with his own. He fiddled with the two pendants in his little hands, and his previous vigilance gradually dissipated.
Shen Hanxing looked at his serious profile and felt more at ease.
The car drove steadily in the night. Chengcheng played with the pendant for a while, then leaned back in the back seat and yawned.
Shen Hanxing laid him flat, let him rest his head on his legs, and patted his back gently.
The little guy quickly closed his eyes, his breathing gradually became even, and a satisfied smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
"He's asleep." Shen Hanxing whispered, his eyes falling on Chengcheng's peaceful little face.
The two children in the back seat fell asleep, their breathing even and soft. The car was quiet, with only the music flowing slowly.
Shen Hanxing looked at the two children's peaceful sleeping faces, feeling both warm and heavy in her heart.
She knew that taking them home was just the beginning.
There is still a long way to go in the future. Both children are only five years old and need her meticulous care, her time and energy, and she needs to provide for them.
And Qi Moxun...is he really ready?
She turned her head to look at Qi Moxun. He was driving intently, his profile flickering in the light of the street lamp.
They had known each other for not long, had experienced life and death crises, and had supported each other to get to where they were today. Their relationship had long surpassed that of ordinary friends, but she was still not sure whether this relationship could accommodate the presence of two children.
The car drove onto the cross-river bridge. The river water under the bridge was shimmering in the night, and the city lights in the distance were bright.
Shen Hanxing took a deep breath and finally spoke, her voice so soft as if she was afraid of disturbing the children in the back seat: "Axun, there is something... I want to tell you."
Qi Moxun turned his head and looked at her, "Well, go ahead."
"Chengcheng and Xunxun... they will always follow me from now on."
Shen Hanxing's fingers twisted the corners of his clothes unconsciously, and his voice became a little tense.
"They are only five years old. They need to go to school and grow up. I will need to take care of them for a very long time. It may... take up a lot of my time and cause trouble for you."
She paused, mustering the courage to look at him, a hint of uneasiness in her eyes.
"I know you haven't had children before, so you might not be used to it. If you find it inconvenient, or..."
"Chen Hanxing."
Qi Moxun interrupted her, slowly parked the car in the emergency lane beside the bridge, and turned on the hazard lights.
He turned around and faced Shen Hanxing. The light in the carriage was dim, but his eyes were unusually clear, with a seriousness and determination she had never seen before, "What do you want to say?"
Shen Hanxing was a little flustered by his gaze and lowered her head: “I want to say…if you feel burdened, we can…”
"Can what?"
Qi Moxun's voice was low, with a hint of barely perceptible grievance, "Can you give me up? Or can you send the child away?"
"No! That's not what I meant!"
Shen Hanxing looked up quickly.
"I'm just... I'm just afraid that you'll regret it, afraid that you'll think that me and the child will drag you down. You deserve better, and you don't need to be tied down by us..."
"In your heart, am I this kind of person?"
Qi Moxun reached out and gently held her wrist. His palm was warm, conveying a calming power.
"Do you think I will let you go just because of two children?"
Shen Hanxing's eyes were red. She shook her head, then nodded, her heart in a mess.
"I have no idea……"
Her voice choked with sobs. "I've been through so much before. I'm afraid... I'm afraid that all this is too beautiful and will shatter like bubbles."
"Chengcheng and Xunxun are my weaknesses, but also my armor. I can't let them suffer any injustice, and... I don't want to lose you either."
Her voice gradually became lower and lower, and the last few words were almost drowned out by the silence of the carriage.
Qi Moxun looked at her red eyes, and the heartache in his eyes almost overflowed.
He reached out and held her in his arms, patting her back gently, his movements as gentle as if he were treating fragile porcelain.
"Silly girl," his voice was close to her head, with the vibration of his chest, "When I met you, I knew you had two children."
"Chen Hanxing, I love you just like this. I love your strength, your softness, and everything about you, including your children."
Shen Hanxing leaned in his arms, listening to his steady heartbeat, the uneasiness in her heart gradually dissipated, but tears fell uncontrollably, wetting his shirt.
"They are not a burden, they are a gift."
Qi Moxun held her face and gently wiped away her tears with his fingertips, his eyes so gentle that tears seemed to drip out.
"The way Chengcheng waited for you with the Ultraman card in his arms, and the way Xunxun slept clutching your pillow, both made me feel warm. They are your treasures, and in the future... they will also be my treasures."
Shen Hanxing looked into his serious eyes, her throat choked with sobs and she couldn't speak.
"Also," Qi Moxun's eyes became more determined, and he said word by word, "I don't plan to have any more children."
