Tang Li struggled for a long time before finally managing to pry him away:
"Huo Chenyu, I came here because..."
"I want to too."
Before she could finish speaking, Huo Chenyu had already taken her words out of context, slipped a hand inside her clothes, and whispered drunken ramblings in her ear:
"I want one too."
I don't need you!
They're already divorced and have broken up, and he still wants this kind of good thing!
Tang Li blushed and pushed him away:
"I came to tell you that Lin Yiyun has been arrested."
These words were like the evening breeze blowing past the window; they left no trace and did not cause the slightest ripple in Huo Chenyu's mind.
Huo Chenyu was busy with his own things, but he had drunk a bit too much. When he was undressing, he stumbled and staggered. Tang Li seized the opportunity to press his hands down against the wall, a classic female version of a wall slam.
"Huo Chenyu".
Huo Chenyu leaned closer, his breath reeking of alcohol, and replied:
"I'm here."
Tang Li replied irritably:
"I know you're here. I'm not blind. I came to find you because..."
“Yes, I want one too.” Huo Chenyu interrupted her again.
This guy is probably faking being drunk.
Taking advantage of someone while drunk to cause trouble!
Tang Li raised her leg and bumped his thigh: "Huo Chenyu, you old scoundrel, what are you thinking? We've already broken up, and you're still thinking about this dirty business down there? What do you take me for?"
"To be a wife."
Huo Chenyu chuckled foolishly.
Seeing that he was three parts drunk and seven parts pretending, Tang Li explained his purpose in one breath:
"Lin Yiyun has been arrested. I'm here to tell you in advance that I'm going to try to get back the property that you gave to that little slut Lin Yiyun during our marriage."
Huo Chenyu suddenly leaned forward, gave Tang Li a quick kiss, and then chuckled, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"You little money-grubber, you're even threatening to break up with me, and you're still eyeing my money."
What does "making a fuss" mean?
Tang Liyi's righteous and eloquent correction:
"Mr. Huo, please face reality, we have already broken up."
Huo Chenyu looked at Tang Li with hazy eyes, leaning his entire upper body against her, teasing her with a roguish and wicked air:
"Are you saying you want to break up but not separate, and share all your money?"
Tang Li dodged away, and as soon as she let go of his hand, he pounced on her and pinned her to the bed:
"If you're willing, every penny I earn will be yours."
Tang Li decisively reached out her hand to him:
"Then you should first give me back all the money you spent on Lin Yiyun, that mistress, during our marriage."
Huo Chenyu grasped her hand and placed it against his heart:
"Okay, here you go. Anything you want, I'll give you."
Talk is cheap; action is useless.
Tang Li wouldn't allow him to be perfunctory and urged him:
"Come on, then give me a detailed list of the money you spent on your mistress."
"Really?"
Huo Chenyu instantly became much more sober.
Taking advantage of his momentary lapse in attention, Tang Li climbed up from under him, sat cross-legged, and stared at him with a smile:
"What? You're feeling sorry for him? You can't bear to do it? You want to go easy on him?"
Without a word, Huo Chenyu turned and walked out of the bedroom. Tang Li craned his neck and shouted:
"Hey, where are you going?"
"I'll get you the evidence." Huo Chenyu walked directly to the safe.
He kept all the details perfectly, so that one day he could get this debt back intact.
As a man, his philosophy has always been to be a gentleman, especially towards women, and to be exceptionally tolerant and loving.
But he was wary of Lin Yiyun from the very beginning.
As Huo Chenyu took out the document bag he had prepared beforehand from the safe and was about to close the safe door, he suddenly glanced at the USB drive inside, and his slight drunkenness vanished completely.
The USB drive that was supposed to be in the wooden box to confess everything to Tang Li hadn't been taken. It lay quietly in the place most likely to be discovered by him, but he just happened to overlook it.
He immediately realized that the safe's combination was still the most basic one.
So...
Tang Li.
Huo Chenyu instantly understood everything. She must have opened the safe, seen the USB drive, and misunderstood everything, which was why she suddenly broke up with him.
Upon arriving at the bedroom door, Huo Chenyu did not immediately go in. Instead, he watched Tang Li pacing back and forth in the room. He suddenly felt that it was good to be separated for the time being, as it would give him time to deal with that pile of messy things.
Thinking of this, Huo Chenyu stepped inside:
"All the details you requested are here."
Tang Li accepted it with delight, but just as she was about to open it, she suddenly stopped and looked at Huo Chenyu:
"You should be sober now, right?"
Huo Chenyu stated frankly:
"I wasn't drunk to begin with."
"Then you..." Tang Li was furious. This guy really was taking advantage of her while drunk.
Oh well, I'm too lazy to argue about it.
Tang Li waved the file bag in his hand, reminding him:
“I’ve already hired a lawyer to sue Lin Yiyun. This matter will definitely affect your reputation. Don’t blame me for giving you advance notice. It might even affect your future marriage prospects. After all, you have plenty of money, yet you’re so petty. I’m afraid your reputation will be ruined.”
Huo Chenyu burst out laughing:
"Not only that, I also have a money-grubbing ex-wife to support, so I'm afraid no woman would dare to marry me."
This sounds quite innocent at first glance.
But judging from his expression...
