Chapter 24 Ex-Husband, Please Have Some Respect

Tang Li knew that Huo Chenyu would definitely come.

Before he arrived, Tang Li had already changed into a comfortable and relaxed set of home clothes and even removed her makeup.

Lu Zhixing praised her:

"It turns out that some people really are more radiant without makeup than with heavy makeup."

Tang Li touched her belly:

"While praise can make people feel good, it can't fill an empty stomach. I've done everything I promised you. Now, shouldn't it be your turn to fulfill your responsibilities?"

Tang Li made a stunning appearance tonight, captivating the entire audience.

They gave Lu Zhixing plenty of face.

"I thought fairies could just drink dew, but I never imagined that fairies also need to eat human food." Lu Zhixing teased her as he walked towards the kitchen.

It's been several months since I've been back to this home, Tang Li asked somewhat uncertainly:

Do you usually cook?

Lu Zhixing opened the refrigerator and invited her to take a look:

"Just tell me what you want to eat. There's nothing I can't make, only things you can't imagine."

The double-door refrigerator was crammed full of food.

Tang Li used to think that buying such a big refrigerator was a waste, but now it seems that it was worth it.

But how long would it take him to finish all that food by himself?

Tang Li was surprised to find that there were still shrimp tails in the freezer, and she decisively chose to eat them.

"Shrimp tails with cold noodles, an absolute delicacy."

While Lu Zhixing was cooking, Tang Li stayed by his side and asked:

"Do you like to fill the fridge to the brim? You can't possibly eat all that food by yourself."

Lu Zhixing, holding a spatula, sighed softly:

"How fortunate I am to have been born in China, a country of peace and prosperity. Before I took over my father's business, I traveled to some impoverished and war-torn countries and learned the importance of stockpiling food. I have developed this habit ever since."

Tang Li understood.

This is what is known as a sense of security.

For example, during the three years she was married to Huo Chenyu, she did not really confine herself to this golden house. She wrote tirelessly day after day because only a continuous stream of income could give her enough security.

Tang Li leaned against the side, somewhat sighing:

"You must really love photography, why don't you keep at it?"

Lu Zhixing turned around and glanced at her.

“My father is getting old. He raised me all his life, and I should repay him.”

The real reason, of course, cannot be spoken aloud.

But he didn't lie to her.

Tang Li laughed heartily: "This is the trouble of the rich. If you don't work hard at photography, you'll have to go home and inherit the family business."

Laughter filled the kitchen.

Huo Chenyu stood outside the door with a somber expression. Jiang Mian followed behind him, expecting Huo Chenyu to proudly turn and leave.

Unexpectedly, he started entering the password.

Out of respect for Tang Li, and risking being scolded by Huo Chenyu, Jiang Mian still spoke up to stop him:

"Boss, shouldn't we ring the doorbell first?"

After all, this is no longer your home.

What a painful realization this is!

Huo Chenyu's hand froze in mid-air. After a half-second pause, he took two steps back.

Jiang Mian quickly rang the doorbell.

In the kitchen, the shrimp tails were just cooked.

It smelled so good that Tang Li couldn't resist reaching out and eating one. Seeing this, Lu Zhixing said to her:

"Be careful, it's hot. Eat slowly. No one's going to take it from you. I'll go open the door first."

Upon opening the door and seeing Huo Chenyu's face, Lu Zhixing feigned surprise:

"Mr. Huo, you live nearby? Did you come to borrow something? Are you feeding your little glutton at home so late at night?"

The phrase "little glutton" is so fitting for the occasion.

Knowing full well that Huo Chenyu was coming, Tang Li deliberately brought the plate of shrimp tails into Huo Chenyu's line of sight.

Lu Zhixing hurriedly turned around, took the plate from her hand, and complained:

"What if I burn my hand while it's fresh out of the pan?"

Tang Li then handed his hand to Lu Zhixing:

"Then blow on it for me."

Lu Zhixing almost burst out laughing. This woman, when dressed in battle armor, was as brave as a general fighting a bloody battle, but when she took off her armor, she was so soft and cute that no one could resist her.

In front of outsiders, Lu Zhixing's every move exuded deep affection, yet remained entirely within the bounds of propriety.

It wasn't until Jiang Mian coughed that Lu Zhixing returned to the doorway and asked:

"What does Mr. Huo need? Or would you like to come in and find it yourself?"

Huo Chenyu stared intently at Tang Li and said coldly:

"I'm looking for her."

Tang Li ate a shrimp tail, oil still dripping from the corner of her mouth, and said without any mercy:

"Sorry, I'm busy."

After saying that, she looked up at Lu Zhixing and told him, "Shrimp tails taste best when they're hot."

Lu Zhixing happened to be standing in the entryway. He casually pulled out a tissue, intending to wipe the grease from the corner of Tang Li's mouth.

The moment his hand reached out, Huo Chenyu had already taken the initiative.

With a slam of the door, Lu Zhixing was locked inside, while Tang Li was pulled along quickly by Huo Chenyu, with Jiang Mian following closely behind, receiving a glare from Huo Chenyu.

Give me the car keys.

Jiang Mian was a little uneasy. Huo Chenyu was in a very bad mood tonight, but he still handed the car keys to Huo Chenyu.

Tang Li couldn't break free from his grasp, and only after being thrown into the car did she manage to yell:

"Ex-husband, please have some self-respect."
