Just as Kong Xiaoyue was about to say something more, her phone suddenly rang.
She glanced at the caller ID, her expression changed slightly, and she said apologetically to Ye Feng and Qin Xiaoran, "Excuse me, I need to take this call and handle some official business."
After saying that, he walked aside to answer the phone.
"I don't know when Xiaoyue will be back."
Qin Xiaoran broke the silence by fiddling with the tableware on the table.
Ye Feng also felt a little embarrassed and could only agree, "Yeah, this call has been going on for quite a while."
Qin Xiaoran looked up and, with her outgoing personality, took the initiative to start a conversation: "Xiaoyue said that you paid for today's meal?"
Ye Feng nodded: "Yes, I need your help with something."
Qin Xiaoran looked at him, a smile playing on her lips: "Well, since she's not here, that's perfect. You can tell me what you're thinking now."
Ye Feng was stunned and didn't react for a moment.
Seeing his expression, Qin Xiaoran chuckled and said, "Just kidding. I have a boyfriend, he'll be here in a bit."
Ye Feng then realized what was happening and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Thankfully it was just a joke.
He smiled and said, "You have a boyfriend? You'll have to be careful. Introduce me to him later."
Qin Xiaoran smiled and nodded: "Okay."
Ye Feng paused, feeling the timing was perfect: "Since Xiaoyue isn't here, let's get down to business now. I need your help."
Qin Xiaoran became serious: "You tell me."
"I need to check some invoices from the finance department," Ye Feng said bluntly.
Qin Xiaoran remained silent for a moment.
She bit her lower lip lightly and slowly said, "Original documents such as invoices have backups of more than six months, but... it might be a little difficult to check them."
Ye Feng looked at her, waiting for her to continue.
Qin Xiaoran explained, "Although we have a copy, it would be easy to arouse suspicion if we only look at a certain period or a few invoices. I don't have the authority to conduct a full investigation, and it might cause a bigger stir."
Ye Feng nodded in understanding.
He pondered for a moment and said, "I see... then I'll think of another way."
Qin Xiaoran looked at him, as if she had made a decision: "I can let you check the records tonight, but only for half an hour at most. No one should find out."
A look of surprise flashed in Ye Feng's eyes.
Unexpectedly, Qin Xiaoran offered to help.
He looked at her gratefully: "Miss Qin, you have really helped me a lot! I will definitely repay you handsomely in the future!"
Qin Xiaoran smiled slightly: "Just call me Xiaoran."
Suddenly, Qin Xiaoran's phone vibrated.
She picked up her phone and glanced at it: "My boyfriend is almost here, I'm going to pick him up."
Ye Feng nodded: "Okay, go ahead."
Qin Xiaoran had just stood up when suddenly there was a "ripping" sound, and she staggered, almost falling over.
Ye Feng quickly reached out to support her: "What's wrong?"
Qin Xiaoran smiled awkwardly: "It's okay, it's okay."
The two looked down and saw a long tear in Qin Xiaoran's stockings, stretching from her knee to her ankle.
Fortunately, my skin wasn't injured.
A feeling of frustration welled up in Qin Xiaoran's heart.
These are her newly bought stockings!
Ye Feng asked, "Is it alright? Should we call Xiaoyue and ask her to bring a new one over?"
Qin Xiaoran looked dejected: "It's too late, my boyfriend is almost here."
Ye Feng thought for a moment and suggested, "How about... we take them off?"
Qin Xiaoran hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded.
I can't exactly go to see my boyfriend wearing torn stockings.
She was a little embarrassed: "Then I'll go change first..."
"Where can I change? The restroom is on the first floor. It won't be convenient for you to go down like this, will it?" Ye Feng pointed to the hole in her leg.
Qin Xiaoran bit her lip, unsure of what to do.

Qin Xiaoran found a chair to block the doorway and began to take off her torn stockings.

A piercing scream came from inside the private room.
Ye Feng's heart tightened, and he quickly asked, "What's wrong?"
The private room was completely silent; there was no response.
Ye Feng knocked on the door again: "Xiao Ran? Are you done changing?"
There has still been no response.
Ye Feng was extremely anxious. He gently pushed open the door a crack, but did not see Qin Xiaoran.
Has something happened?
He cautiously entered the private room, his eyes scanning every corner.
Halfway there, they found Qin Xiaoran curled up on the ground, her hands covering her ankles, her shoulders trembling slightly, and she was sobbing softly.
Ye Feng breathed a sigh of relief, but also felt a bit embarrassed.
Qin Xiaoran suddenly raised her head, looking at him in a panic, and instinctively hugged her legs with both hands.
Her face was still streaked with tears, and her eyes were filled with terror.
Ye Feng quickly explained, "I didn't come in on purpose. I called you several times and you didn't respond. I was worried something had happened to you..."
Qin Xiaoran sniffed and choked up as she said, "I saw a cockroach, got startled, and accidentally fell down."
An awkward atmosphere filled the air between the two.
Ye Feng felt his face getting hot and said, "Then you change first, I'll go out and wait for you."
As he spoke, he made a move to step back.
Qin Xiaoran called out to him, "Ye Feng, could you... could you help me? I think I twisted my ankle..."
Ye Feng hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded: "Okay."
