Liu Qingyi, on the other hand, was poised and greeted everyone with a smile.
"Hey, you two's down here!" Brother Xiong teased, winking. "What were you whispering about upstairs that took you so long to come down?"
Ye Feng coughed lightly but didn't reply.
"Come, come, sit down and eat!" Sister-in-law Xiong greeted them warmly.
During the meal, Brother Xiong brought up Li Ting again: "Xiao Feng, let me tell you, Xiao Ting next door has a real crush on you."
Ye Feng was taken aback.
He hadn't really taken this to heart before.
He had always treated Li Ting as a younger sister and had never thought of anything else.
Seeing his reaction, Brother Xiong chuckled and said, "I say, kid, you're too charming. You attract attention wherever you go."
Ye Feng sighed and rubbed his forehead in exasperation: "This is troublesome."
Brother Xiong also sighed, "That's right, I don't know what to do either."
Ye Feng pondered for a moment: "How about this, I'll go talk to Brother Li first and make things clear."
He didn't want to cause any unnecessary misunderstandings between Li Ting and Li Ge's family because of his own actions.
Brother Xiong nodded: "That's the only way."
After the meal, Ye Feng got up and went straight to Brother Li's convenience store.
When we arrived at the convenience store, Brother Li was sitting behind the counter eating sunflower seeds.
Upon seeing Ye Feng arrive, he quickly stood up to greet him, "Little Feng is here, come in and sit down!"
Ye Feng nodded and walked into the convenience store.
Brother Li poured him a glass of water and asked with concern, "What brings you here today? Is something the matter?"
Ye Feng cut to the chase: "Brother Li, I've come here today to talk to you about something." He paused, glanced at Brother Li, and continued, "It's about Xiaoting."
Brother Li's expression instantly turned serious.
Ye Feng said bluntly, "Brother Li, I know Xiao Ting has feelings for me. But I already have a girlfriend, the girl who came back with me today."
Brother Li was stunned, and the sunflower seeds in his hand fell to the ground.
He didn't expect Ye Feng to say that.
Ye Feng continued, "I'm sorry I didn't explain things clearly to you before, which caused this misunderstanding."
Brother Li was silent for a moment, then sighed, "I see... I understand."
He looked at Ye Feng and said sincerely, "Xiao Feng, thank you for telling me the truth. I did want to set you up with my Xiao Ting before, but since you already have a girlfriend, then forget it."
Ye Feng breathed a sigh of relief; the misunderstanding had finally been cleared up.
"Brother Li, thank you for understanding."
"It's alright, we're all family, no need for such formalities." Brother Li smiled. "Alright, it's getting late, you should head back now."
Ye Feng nodded, got up, and left the convenience store.
Since Aunt Xiong was discharged from the hospital, the Li family held a banquet that evening to celebrate.
They set up three tables in their own shop.
Two tables are outside, and one table is in the room inside.
The entire Xiong family, along with Ye Feng and Liu Qingyi, filled the table in the room.
As soon as all the dishes were served, Brother Li walked into the private room with a wine glass in hand and a big smile on his face.
"Godmother, I heard Xiaofeng brought his girlfriend home, so I came over to offer him a toast!"
Liu Qingyi gracefully raised her glass in greeting, offering a slight smile.
Brother Li was somewhat stunned.
That girl is so beautiful!
Seeing this, Ye Feng smiled and explained, "Brother Li, thank you so much for taking care of my godmother before."
Liu Qingyi added, "Yes, Brother Li, thank you so much."
Brother Li snapped out of his daze and quickly waved his hand, saying, "Of course, of course."
He raised his glass again, "Come on, let me toast you all!"
After finishing his drink, Brother Li tactfully left the private room.
Not long after Brother Li left, the door to the private room was pushed open again.
This time, it was Aunt Li who came in, followed by Li Ting.
"Godmother, let's raise a toast to you too!"
Aunt Li said with a smile, but her smile froze on her face when she saw Liu Qingyi.
Brother Li quickly smoothed things over: "This is Xiao Feng's girlfriend, Liu Qingyi."
Aunt Li looked rather unwell and gave an awkward smile.
Li Ting stood there, unsure whether to move forward or backward, a look of desolation flashing in her eyes.
She picked up her glass, mechanically toasted Mother Xiong, and then hurriedly left the private room with Aunt Li.
After leaving the private room, Aunt Li sighed and said to Li Ting, "Ting, I didn't expect... your brother is the same; he didn't even give me a heads-up beforehand."
Li Ting shook her head, forcing a smile, "Sister-in-law, it's alright. It's not your fault."
Looking at her lonely figure, Aunt Li felt a pang of sadness.
How did Ye Feng end up with such a beautiful girlfriend?
Inside the private room, Brother Xiong and Sister-in-law Xiong, seeing this, quickly tried to liven up the atmosphere.
"Come on, everyone, let's toast Mom first!"
Everyone responded enthusiastically and drank it all in one gulp.
The awkwardness from before was quickly dispelled, and everyone started chatting about everyday things.
Liu Qingyi maintained a polite smile throughout the meal. During the meal, she subtly tapped Ye Feng's toes with her high heels.
Ye Feng winced in pain, but dared not utter a sound.
Liu Qingyi leaned down slightly and asked in a low voice, "What happened just now?"
Ye Feng feigned ignorance: "What? What happened?"
Liu Qingyi feigned anger: "You're still pretending to be stupid! The way that girl looked at you, that resentful little face..."
Ye Feng looked completely innocent: "I really don't know! I've only met her a handful of times, you could count them on one hand."
Liu Qingyi snorted: "There's Yang Yunqing at the hospital, and now this little sister has popped up in my godmother's hometown... Just how many women do you have?"
