Chapter 163 Charm

Ye Feng smiled confidently, "I'll talk to her. As long as she doesn't pursue the matter any further, I can get Feng Xiaoqian released on bail. Sister Furong should be able to handle the rest, right?"

"That's great!" Wang Furong smiled with relief, but then frowned. "Wait, didn't you say before that you and Doctor Yang were just ordinary friends? How come you seem so confident about this?"

Ye Feng's expression froze, knowing he couldn't hide it any longer, so he had no choice but to confess, "Actually, Yang Yunqing is my ex-girlfriend."

Wang Furong suddenly realized, and then teased, "I knew it! This little girl is still too young. If it were me, I would definitely have you firmly in my grasp."

Ye Feng smiled helplessly and didn't reply.

Wang Furong suddenly thought of something and slammed her hand on the table. "No, I have to treat Yang Yunqing to dinner! If it weren't for helping you, she wouldn't have gotten into this trouble."

Ye Feng looked at her, feeling grateful. Although Wang Furong was sometimes carefree, she could be very thoughtful in crucial moments.

"I should be the one treating," Ye Feng said with a smile. "After all, she's helping me, not you."

Wang Furong raised an eyebrow. "You can't say that. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have gone to the hospital, and none of this would have happened. So, you owe Yang Yunqing a favor."

Ye Feng shrugged nonchalantly, "I know what I'm doing."

Wang Furong took a key out of her bag and handed it to Ye Feng. "This is my spare key. Please open the door for me tomorrow morning and return it to me before six o'clock."

Ye Feng took the key and put it in his pocket.

Wang Furong rested her chin on her hand, curiously examining Ye Feng. "What are the plans next?"

"Moving," Ye Feng replied simply.

"Where are you moving to? Not with your partner?" Wang Furong asked tentatively.

Upon hearing Liu Qingyi's name, Ye Feng's lips curled up slightly. "Why bring her up? I know she's a rich heiress. Although the Liu family mansion is in a somewhat remote location, it's still worth over a hundred million."

"Your girlfriend is Liu Qingyi?!" Wang Furong's eyes widened suddenly.

She always thought Ye Feng's girlfriend was at most a girl from a modest family, never imagining she would be the eldest daughter of the Liu family.

These two people are so different in status and position!

Wang Furong thought to herself: No wonder he wanted to move; he's going to marry into a wealthy family!

"What are you thinking!" Ye Feng saw through Wang Furong's thoughts and shook his head with a smile. "She wants to come back to the old house with me."

"What?!" Wang Furong was genuinely surprised. "Where is your old house? How come I don't know? This Liu Qingyi has such unique taste! What is it about you that makes her leave her villa and come back to your old house with you?"

Ye Feng found it somewhat amusing; Wang Furong's imagination was truly boundless.

“It’s not my old house,” Ye Feng explained, “it belongs to my godmother.”

Wang Furong was even more puzzled, "Then where is your godmother's old house? Why would she leave her perfectly good villa and go to live in someone else's old house?"

Ye Feng walked to the refrigerator, bent down and took out a can of chilled cola.

As he stood up, he unexpectedly bumped into Wang Furong behind him.

"Ouch!" Wang Furong clutched her chest and staggered.

Ye Feng quickly helped her up, "Sister Rong, are you alright?"

After regaining her balance, Wang Furong glared at him irritably, "Can't you watch where you're going?! That hurts so much!"

She rubbed her chest, feeling a slight ache.

Ye Feng said helplessly, "Sister Rong, you should pay more attention to your image."

"Image?" Wang Furong scoffed. "What image do I need in front of you? I don't treat you like a man!"

He was both amused and exasperated; this Sister Rong really wouldn't suffer the slightest loss.

Once Wang Furong recovered, her face was full of curiosity again. "I say, Xiao Feng, you really are my good sworn brother! You actually managed to persuade Miss Liu to go back to the old house with you. You're amazing!"

"What's so special about this?" Ye Feng pulled the tab, took a swig of cola, and let out a satisfied sigh.

Wang Furong raised an eyebrow. "Taking Miss Liu, who is used to villa life, to the old house is even more surprising than becoming a live-in son-in-law of the Liu family!"

He put down the Coke can and explained, "My godmother's family is well-off; it's not some dilapidated house."

Wang Furong's curiosity intensified. "How did you reach this decision?"

Ye Feng took a sip of water and changed the subject. "Sister Rong, I plan to stay at the old house for a while, and I may not come here often in the future."

Wang Furong reached out and pinched his arm. "You heartless bastard! Even if we live nearby, you might not come over often!"

He knew Wang Furong was just joking and wasn't really angry.

Wang Furong took a card out of her bag and handed it to him, "This is your salary card as the deputy captain."

"Sister Rong, I can't accept this money." Ye Feng pushed the card back. "We agreed last time that I can't take a salary without working."

Wang Furong grabbed his hand and forcefully shoved the card back into his grasp. "What do you mean by 'ghost employee' pay! This is my bonus to thank you for helping me handle those things!"

She glared at him, feigning anger, and said, "Why are you being so polite with me?"

Ye Feng hesitated for a moment, but ultimately accepted the card.

"Okay, Sister Rong, I'll do my best to help you."

He knew Wang Furong's temper; if he refused any longer, she would only become more unhappy.

He sighed inwardly. He had wanted to live a peaceful life, but he always ended up getting involved in these things.

Seeing that he accepted the money, Wang Furong finally smiled and said, "That's more like it! Don't be shy about spending money with me in the future. Take good care of Miss Liu and don't let her suffer any grievances."

She patted Ye Feng on the shoulder, then turned and left.

The next morning. Liu Qingyi stood in front of the mirror, carefully tidying her hair, wearing an elegant beige suit.

Ye Feng leaned against the doorframe, his gaze fixed on her. The suit accentuated her capable demeanor, making her even more beautiful and captivating.

Noticing Ye Feng's gaze, Liu Qingyi turned around: "I'm going to work. I'll try to be back early tonight. Don't wait for me for dinner. I'm not used to eating with too many people. Could you explain this to Auntie for me?"

The door closed, and the room returned to silence.

Ye Feng stood there, stunned, not yet able to react.

The mother bear has prepared a sumptuous dinner, and the older brother and sister-in-law will also be returning.

But now Liu Qingyi is not used to eating with her family, and he has to explain it to her.

He felt a sudden headache coming on. How should he tell Xiong's mother? Should he say that Liu Qingyi was being arrogant? Or that she was unsociable?

Ye Feng was about to help Liu Qingyi move her things when he opened the door, but he froze.

Standing outside the door were A-Ming, Liu Qingxing's bodyguard, and several other bodyguards in black, all burly and with serious expressions. A man in a work uniform with the words "Smart Lock" printed on the back was also there, fiddling with something.
