Chapter Eighty-Eight: This is a huge misunderstanding!

Wu Dan said in a low voice, "I feel uneasy, and I think you and Team Leader Xu are good people."

Ye Feng was silent for a moment, then asked, "What about the ledger? Do you know where it is?"

Wu Dan shook his head. "I don't know. They didn't tell me."

He paused, then added, "Mr. Ye, we should strengthen network and surveillance security to prevent something even more serious from happening."

Ye Feng nodded. "That's a good suggestion."

He turned to look at Xu San, "Go and bring those two night watchmen here."

Xu San accepted the order and left.

Ye Feng's gaze fell on Wu Dan again. "You know about computers?"

Wu Dan nodded, "I used to..."

Before he could finish speaking, Xu San returned with the two night watchmen.

The tall, thin man and the short, stout man immediately started shouting when they saw Wu Dan.

"It's him! He's the one who stole it!" the tall, thin man shouted, pointing at Wu Dan.

The short, stout employee chimed in, "That's right! We saw him sneaking around the warehouse with our own eyes!"

The two of them spoke in unison, as if they had already decided that Wu Dan was the culprit.

Wu Dan's face was pale, his lips trembled, but he still did not refute.

Ye Feng watched all of this with indifference, without intervening.

He wanted to see how long Wu Dan could hold out.

"You say I stole it, what evidence do you have?" Wu Dan finally spoke, his voice weak but defiant.

"Evidence? We are the evidence!" the tall, thin man shouted arrogantly. "We saw you with our own eyes!"

"Yes! What else do you have to say!" The short, fat employee chimed in.

The two pressed closer and closer, but Wu Dan did not retreat an inch.

He looked them straight in the eye and said, word by word, "I didn't steal!"

Ye Feng stood up, walked to Wu Dan's side, and patted him on the shoulder. "Wu Dan, go and fix that old computer in the warehouse and connect it to the network."

Wu Dan paused for a moment, then nodded, walked to an old, dusty computer in the corner of the warehouse, and began to get busy.

While Wu Dan was repairing the computer, Xu San stood to the side with his mouth slightly open.

He never expected that Wu Dan, who looked so honest and unassuming, would have such a skill.

The computer was quickly repaired, and Wu Dan skillfully connected it to the network, then connected the security department's monitoring system to the computer.

"Mr. Ye, it's done." Wu

Dan stood up and said to Ye Feng.

Ye Feng nodded, walked to the computer, and began to review the surveillance footage.

Xu San walked up to Wu Dan and asked in a low voice, "Wu Dan, what did you do before?"

Wu Dan hesitated for a moment, then said in a low voice, "I used to be a hacker."

"Hacker?" Xu San's eyes widened in surprise.

Wu Dan nodded. "However, I later went to prison for some things and got a criminal record...that's why I'm working as a security guard here."

The silence of the warehouse was broken by a series of footsteps approaching from afar.

"Quick, hide!"

Ye Feng quickly dodged and hid behind a pile of messy cargo boxes.

Seeing this, Wu Dan quickly hid as well.

The warehouse door was pushed open, and a fat figure walked in—it was the manager.

He covered his nose and looked around with a look of disgust.

"Cough cough, what kind of place is this? It's filthy!" the manager complained.

Xu San was pretending to clean the shelves when he saw the manager come in. He "accidentally" tore off a piece of rag, raising a cloud of dust that flew towards the manager.

"Cough cough cough!" The manager choked, his face turning red, and pointed at Xu San angrily, "What the hell are you doing! Trying to choke me to death!"

Xu San smiled apologetically and said, "Oh dear, manager, I'm so sorry, I didn't see you come in, I was busy at the time."

He patted the dust off the manager in a show of concern.

"This warehouse is a mess, clean it up right now!" the manager ordered impatiently.

"Yes, yes, manager, don't worry, I'll get it sorted out as soon as possible," Xu San replied, bowing and scraping.

"Can you manage by yourself? This warehouse is so big." The manager looked at him suspiciously.

Xu San quickly said, "Manager, could you send a few more people to help me? I really can't handle it all by myself."

"Just do what I tell you to do, stop talking nonsense! Figure it out yourself!"

The manager waved his hand impatiently, "I have something to do, I'm leaving now."

After saying that, he glanced at the warehouse environment with disdain, then turned and left.

The smell of dust gradually dissipated in the warehouse.

After the manager left, Ye Feng emerged from behind the cargo box, and Wu Dan also appeared.

“Xu San,” Ye Feng dusted himself off, his gaze sharp, “find a corner in the warehouse, secretly set up a studio there, take over the surveillance cameras, and keep a close eye on things.”

Xu San nodded, indicating that he understood.

Ye Feng paused for a moment, then added, "Also, you need to keep an eye on the security department's accounts. Judging from the manager's demeanor, there might be something wrong with them."

“Brother Feng, I’ve got it.” Xu San replied.

Ye Feng left the warehouse, took out his phone, and dialed Wang Furong's number.

"how are things?"

"It's alright," Wang Furong's languid voice came in spring, "How about you? How's your investigation going?"

“There’s been some progress, but it’s not enough,” Ye Feng said. “How much do you know about the inside of a construction company?”

He needs more intelligence.

“Internal intelligence…” Wang Furong drawled, as if she was thinking, “That manager in the security department is not simple; he has connections in the personnel department.”
