Chapter Seventy-Five: Anger

Before Ye Feng could speak, Liu Qing said reproachfully, "This is my business partner, Mr. Ma! We just finalized a deal, and he was just a little excited and wanted to shake my hand."

"Mr. Ma, I'm sorry, I... I misunderstood."

Ye Feng looked at President Ma and nodded in apology.

But he still couldn't let it go.

In his view, those intimate gestures were more than just "excitement".

Mr. Ma got up from the ground, straightened his clothes, and said angrily, "Ms. Liu, is this your attitude towards cooperation? I feel insulted!"

"Mr. Ma, please calm down. I apologize on his behalf!" Liu Qingyi quickly stepped forward to mediate.

Mr. Ma shook off her hand, saying, "No need!"

After saying that, he left the office without looking back.

Liu Qingyi's face turned pale, and she covered her face with her hands.

The immense financial pressure was suffocating her.

If this collaboration with Mr. Ma falls through, the company's financial pressure will be impossible to alleviate.

Ye Feng looked at her, but didn't know how to comfort her.

"I'm sorry..." Ye Feng walked to her side and gently hugged her. "I'll invest."

Liu Qingyi pushed him away, her eyes reddening, "I don't need your fake kindness!"

Ye Feng was stunned.

He hadn't expected Liu Qingyi's reaction to be so intense.

Liu Qingyi's tone remained icy: "Why are you meddling in my affairs? You've ruined all my collaborations!"

Ye Feng spoke his mind: "He... has ill intentions towards you! He's a hypocrite!"

"You're talking nonsense! We're just business partners. I need him, and he can help me! This is very important to me... to the Liu family!" Liu Qingyi was almost incoherent.

Ye Feng looked at it and sighed.

"I'm sorry. I acted impulsively."

Liu Qingyi didn't speak, but simply turned her head away, refusing to look at him.

Ye Feng had other things to do, so he didn't have much time to coax her.

He helplessly pulled her into his arms and said gently, "Alright, don't be angry. I was only jealous because I care about you. You can contact me about the funds. I have something to do, so I'll be going now."

Liu Qingyi was the only one left in the office.

She regretted losing her temper with Ye Feng earlier, but the words were already out and couldn't be taken back.

She forced herself to concentrate and continue processing the mountain of documents.

Neon lights flickered as night fell.

Ye Feng sat alone on the balcony of the villa, the cigarette between his fingers flickering.

He recalled the scene in Liu Qingyi's office during the day, and his heart ached faintly.

Frustrated, Ye Feng stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, then got up and walked to the window.

He wanted to talk to someone, but he didn't know who to talk to.

Suddenly, a figure flashed through his mind—Qi Xue.

Ye Feng picked up his phone and dialed Qi Xue's number.

"Hello, Qi Xue, it's me."

"Ye Feng? It's so late, what's up?" Qi Xue's voice was slightly languid.

"I'd like to grab a drink with you, do you have time?"

"Of course, where are you? I'll come pick you up."

"No need, I'll come pick you up. Are you home?"

"Okay, I'm at home."

Ye Feng drove to Qi Xue's apartment building and picked her up.

No wonder she's a big star.

Qi Xue wore only a simple white dress today, yet she looked exceptionally pure and charming.

Ye Feng couldn't help but glance at her a few more times.

He opened the car door for her, and after Qi Xue got in, a faint scent of perfume filled the car.

Ye Feng started the car, and the two remained silent throughout the journey, with only soft music flowing in the car.

The atmosphere inside the carriage was somewhat ambiguous, yet also carried a faint sense of estrangement.

They went to a lively bar and found a corner seat.

"What would you like to drink?" Ye Feng asked.

"Whatever," Qi Xue said with a faint smile.

Ye Feng ordered two glasses of whiskey and clinked glasses with Qi Xue.

After a few drinks, Ye Feng felt much better and became more talkative.

"I've been a bit annoyed lately," he sighed.

Qi Xue looked into his eyes and asked softly, "Is it because of Liu Qingyi?"

Ye Feng did not deny it and nodded.

Qi Xue smiled and said in a relaxed tone, "Don't overthink it. Maybe you're just overthinking it."

"I hope so," Ye Feng said with a bitter smile.

Qi Xue felt a pang of pity seeing his dejected appearance.

She reached out and gently took Ye Feng's hand, saying softly, "Don't be sad, it will all pass."

Seeing her concerned look, Ye Feng reached out and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Thank you, Qixue."

The two drank a few more glasses, and the atmosphere gradually became ambiguous.

Emboldened by the alcohol, Qi Xue boldly asked, "Can I come to my place tonight?"

Ye Feng paused for a moment, then shook his head, remembering Liu Qingyi.

"No, I have something else to do."

Qi Xue's eyes dimmed, but she quickly smiled again.

"All right."

She mustered her courage and said, "Ye Feng, actually... I've liked you for a long time."

Ye Feng was not surprised, but he was also unsure how to respond.

"Qixue, I..."

“I know you have a girlfriend,” Qi Xue interrupted him. “I just wanted to tell you how I feel.”

"I'm sorry, Qi Xue, I can't have my cake and eat it too," Ye Feng said apologetically.

Qi Xue was disappointed, but she still forced a smile.

"I know, it's okay."

"Then... let's go back."

Ye Feng nodded, paid the bill, and the two left the bar.

Qi Xue's faint perfume scent was particularly alluring in the night.
