Chapter 12 Making the best of a bad situation

Considering Nie Shirong's reputation, Shi Wan politely declined: "Dr. Nie, it's not that I don't want to help you, but I'm not wearing a white coat right now, so I really can't do anything about it."

Nie Shirong rolled her eyes, then hurriedly took off her white coat and tossed it to Shi Wan: "Now that I have it, you can wear mine for now, that's settled."

After saying that, Nie Shirong covered her buttocks and ran towards the toilet. Shi Wan felt that if Nie Shirong ran any slower, she would have soiled her pants.

When Shi went to chase after Nie Shirong, her hand was grabbed by Li Jingru, a nurse who was on a house call with her: "Dr. Shi, please help me. I really don't want to go on house calls with Dr. Nie. I'll treat you to milk tea later."

Before she could refuse, Li Jingru had already been taken to the ambulance that evening.

Forced into a situation, Shi Wan appeared at the car accident scene and became Dr. Nie in Sikong Jingyu's eyes.

Perhaps... we should just go with the flow.

When they returned to the hospital, Shi Wan handed Sikong Jingyu over to the trauma surgery department and went back to her emergency room. The two never crossed paths again.

At that moment, Shi Wan did not deny it, but changed the subject: "Let me bandage your wound first."

"Dr. Nie, do you think I can trust a doctor who lies constantly and never tells the truth?"

Sikong Jingyu glanced sideways at Shi Wan, a slight smile playing on his lips, his eyes filled with inquiry and mockery.

Shi Wan frowned slightly.

“Mr. Sikong, I admit that I have concealed my identity, but if you want to find out, you can. It is clear that I am insignificant to you and you don’t care to investigate. So you don’t need to worry about what happened before. If you really can’t trust my medical skills, please allow me to bandage and stop the bleeding first. After we return to the hospital, I will arrange for an authoritative doctor to treat you.”

Sikong Jingyu stared at Shi Wan, his gaze deep, a dark glint in his eyes: "What if I don't cooperate with you?"

Shi Wan lowered her eyelashes, sighed silently, and said in a calm tone, "Mr. Sikong, then I'll have to have my colleague bandage you up first."

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jingyu narrowed his long, phoenix-shaped eyes and scrutinized Shi Wan sharply for a moment. "Giving up already? Is this how you usually treat your patients?"

"Patients also have the right to choose, and I know how to respect their wishes."

Shi Wan stepped back, placed her hands on either side of her white coat, and looked at Sikong Jingyu with clear eyes.

"Good, very good." Sikong Jingyu bit his cheekbone, his voice extremely low.

Shi Wan lowered her eyes and said, "Thank you for your cooperation."

Sikong Jingyu turned her head away, closed her eyes, and made it clear that she didn't want to talk to Shi Wan anymore.

If he doesn't want to talk to her, then so be it. Shi Wan didn't want to get entangled with Si Kong Jingyu any longer, so she pulled over Li Jingru, a nurse who was on a house call with her. When Li Jingru saw the patient in the luxury car who was ignoring her, she couldn't help but frown slightly and whispered in Shi Wan's ear, "He looks a bit difficult to deal with!"

Shi Wan forced a bitter smile: "Yes... let's keep things simple and get him back to the hospital first."

Since Sikong Jingyu has the energy to find fault with her, it's enough to show that his problem shouldn't be too serious, and nothing bad will happen to him in the short term.

Li Jingru received Shi Wan's coded message and confidently replied, "Understood."

After a simple procedure, Li Jingru reported Sikong Jingyu's vital signs: "Systolic blood pressure 126, diastolic blood pressure 71, heart rate 88 beats per minute, blood oxygen saturation 98 percent, both pupils are round and equal in size, about two millimeters in diameter, and react briskly to light."

As expected.

Shi Wan nodded, relieved. The condition was stable, so Shi Wan could quickly transfer Sikong Jingyu to the trauma surgery department when she returned to the hospital.

Seeing the mottled bloodstains on Sikong Jingyu's forehead, Shi Wan spoke again: "Sister Jing, could you please treat the wound a little more?"

Li Jingru nodded and reached out the hand holding the disinfectant swab to Sikong Jingyu.

Before they could even meet Sikong Jingyu, he suddenly shoved Li Jingru aside and glared angrily at Shi Wan: "After all this time, it's still not done. Is this how your hospital treats its patients? If you keep messing around, am I going to keep getting messed around with you?"

Sikong Jingyu's sudden action startled Li Jingru, who was stunned for a moment.

Shi Wan frowned slightly.

Li Jingru quickly calmed down and hurriedly reassured him, "Sir, I'm sorry I couldn't meet your expectations. Please give me one more minute so I can treat your wound and then we can be done."

"hurry up!"

Sikong Jingyu scoffed coldly, sat up straight, crossed his arms in front of his chest, his posture noble and elegant, exuding arrogance and dissatisfaction.

"OK."

Upon hearing Sikong Jingyu's command, Li Jingru immediately got to work, wanting to finish as quickly as possible.

Just as the sterile cotton swab was about to touch Sikong Jingyu's wound, Sikong Jingyu roared again, "Are you trying to kill me with pain?"

Sikong Jingyu's reaction was so extreme that even Li Jingru, who had worked for over ten years, was momentarily at a loss for words: "I'm sorry..."

Sikong Jingyu's eyes were sinister, and his tone was impatient: "Sorry? You doctors and nurses, you apologize to me? How can patients trust you? I'll stab you and then apologize to you, do you want that?"

Li Jingru was a worldly person who had seen all kinds of patients. When Sikong Jingyu glared at her coldly, Li Jingru was speechless for a moment, because Sikong Jingyu really looked like the kind of person who would jump up and stab her at any time.

"Do we need to treat the wound or not?" Sikong Jingyu snapped again, his patience reaching its limit.

"Yes, I will."

Standing to the side, Shi Wan responded. Seeing Li Jingru being scolded mercilessly, Shi Wan pulled her behind her to protect her. Si Kong Jingyu's anger at this moment was probably directed at her. His repeated talk about how to make patients believe that they are doctors was just a way of expressing his dissatisfaction with her.

Hiding behind Shi Wan, Li Jingru shook her head. At this moment, she dared not easily provoke Sikong Jingyu again. What if he said it hurt again and actually jumped up and stabbed her?

She was so close, and stuck at the car door. If she wanted to run away, she wouldn't be able to. She would lose her life just to treat a wound. Wouldn't that be a huge loss for her? With that in mind, Li Jingru absolutely refused to treat Sikong Jingyu's wound anymore.

"She's rough, I don't want her. How exactly does your hospital recruit nurses?" Sikong Jingyu stared at Li Jingru, his eyes sharp.

"I..." Where did I go too far? I didn't even touch you!

Li Jingru swallowed her words. After what had just happened, she had no intention of serving Sikong Jingyu again. Since Sikong Jingyu now disliked her, she took the opportunity to recommend, "I'm heavy-handed. Why don't you let our doctor treat your wound? She's skilled, professional, and most importantly, gentle."

Shi Wan pursed her lips, pondering Li Jingru's words. It was originally because of her that Sister Jing was angered by Sikong Jingyu.

Shi Wan raised her eyes and looked at Sikong Jingyu with a calm and firm gaze, asking, "Is it alright, Mr. Sikong?"
