"President Leng," Yan Zhi said softly, placing the tray on the table.
Hearing Yan Zhi call him, Leng Linli finally looked up from his documents, glanced at Yan Zhi casually with deep eyes, and replied briefly, "Hmm."
In fact, as soon as Yan Zhi entered the office, Leng Linli knew it was her. However, he kept his eyes on the documents and resisted looking at her until Yan Zhi called him. Only then did Leng Linli pretend to raise his head and give her a disdainful look.
Today, Yan Zhi was wearing a light yellow business suit, which made her skin look even whiter than snow. She lowered her eyes and looked gentle and dignified. Her cold and sharp gaze was fixed on her face and she couldn't take her eyes off it.
"Mr. Leng, your coffee." Yan Zhi reminded Leng Linli, who seemed to be lost in thought.
When Leng Linli came to his senses, he was genuinely stunned when he caught sight of Yan Zhi's masterpiece on the table.
He pushed the tray on the table towards Yan Zhi, his expression cold and stern as he asked, "What do you mean by this?"
Yan Zhi's gaze fell on the tray, which held six cups: a cup of coffee, a cup of green tea, a cup of lemonade, a cup of cold boiled water, a cup of steaming hot water, and a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice.
Faced with Leng Linli's questioning, Yan Zhi remained calm and replied, "Mr. Leng, I didn't know what your taste was like today, so I prepared one of each."
Upon hearing Yan Zhi's explanation, Leng Linli's lips curled into a smile, and his gaze towards Yan Zhi deepened.
Leaning down close to Yan Zhi, the height difference between the two made the scene seem somewhat ambiguous at first glance.
Immediately, a cold, deep voice sounded in Yan Zhi's ear, tinged with a hint of ambiguity: "Is Mrs. Leng catering to my taste?"
There was really no pandering or anything like that.
Yan Zhi simply didn't want to be subjected to Leng Linli's sarcastic remarks anymore, so she used the most foolish method: preparing a portion of each type of drink, thinking that with so many varieties, perhaps one would suit Leng Linli's taste.
Yan Zhi smiled faintly, without exposing the truth.
"I'm glad Mr. Leng is satisfied." Yan Zhi took a step back, increasing the distance between herself and Leng Linli.
Seeing Yan Zhi leave, Leng Linli didn't press the matter. He straightened up, leaned against the table, and casually picked up a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. He stared at Yan Zhi with interest and asked, "How did you know I wanted orange juice?"
Yan Zhi didn't know what Leng Linli wanted to drink; it was just a coincidence.
Yan Zhi remained calm and composed, replying, "The oranges were very fresh today, so I took the liberty of squeezing a cup for you."
After listening, Leng Linli smiled slightly, seemingly in a good mood.
He took a sip of orange juice; it tasted alright. When he looked up at Yan Zhishi, his expression shifted repeatedly.
Yan Zhi was puzzled by Leng Linli's gaze, and noticing the change in his expression, she frowned slightly and asked, "Is...it not good to drink?"
Leng Linli ignored Yan Zhi's question and instead asked, "Didn't Mrs. Leng drink it before it was brought in?"
Leng Linli's words left Yan Zhi speechless. She hadn't tasted it before serving it. Could it really be... so bad?
Leng Linli walked closer to Yan Zhi and retorted, "Mrs. Leng, you dare to bring in food that you've never tasted before? What if I get food poisoning from drinking it? What are you up to, Mrs. Leng?"
A glass of freshly squeezed orange juice caused food poisoning. President Leng is as delicate and precious as ever!
The cold and fierce aura that approached her still gave Yan Zhi an invisible sense of oppression. Yan Zhi subconsciously stepped back, but was pulled back to her original position by the cold and fierce aura.
"...It smells strange?" Yan Zhi asked hesitantly.
"Mrs. Leng, why don't you try it yourself?" Leng Linli suggested calmly, his voice devoid of any extra emotion.
After all, she had been the one to give a perfunctory answer first, so Yan Zhi felt a little unsure of herself. After hesitating for a moment, she decided to test the poison first: "Okay."
The two of them drank the same glass of juice. If Yan Zhi didn't experience any health problems after drinking it, then it was Leng Linli's own health issue that was the problem, and it had nothing to do with her. She couldn't be blamed for it.
Yan Zhi reached out to take the orange juice from Leng Linli's hand. Just as her hand touched the glass, she was suddenly pulled around the waist by a force. Before Yan Zhi could react, Leng Linli pulled her into his arms.
A kiss fell unexpectedly.
The cup was casually placed on the table by Leng Linli, his lips and tongue exploring Yan Zhi's teeth, but he did not rush to attack, only gently teasing her.
"President Leng..."
Yan Zhi was in a daze and resisted strongly, pushing away Leng Linli with her hand: "Aren't we drinking orange juice?... What are you doing?"
Yan Zhi's resistance made Leng Linli even more out of control. His large hand gripped the back of Yan Zhi's head, conquering and plundering her. His words were somewhat indistinct: "I was seriously helping Mrs. Leng taste the orange juice."
Only then did Yan Zhi realize that she had fallen into Leng Linli's trap. Trying to avoid Leng Linli's words, Yan Zhi sneered: "President Leng is really... cunning."
"Business is business, Mrs. Leng should have heard that there's no such thing as a merchant without guile, and no merchant without guile." There was a hint of joy in Leng Linli's voice as he found Yan Zhi's lips again and deepened the kiss.
Leng Linli's cold, forceful, and domineering kiss made Yan Zhi feel aggrieved. She wanted to push Leng Linli away, but the difference in strength was too great, and she couldn't budge him at all.
"Cold and ruthless... um..."
Before Yan Zhi could finish speaking, the rest of her words were lost between their lips and tongues.
His cold, sharp eyes stared unblinkingly at Yan Zhi, his thin lips parted slightly, and his voice was somewhat hoarse in response: "Mmm..."
Hearing Leng Linli's indifferent reply, Yan Zhi couldn't help but feel a little helpless, staring at Leng Linli with her eyes wide open.
