Yan Zhi smiled faintly and said calmly, "I didn't mean to make you angry. I'm just telling the truth. You're angry because I didn't go along with your wishes. You can't stand anyone daring to go against you, so you chose to get angry."
Leng Linli's expression changed: "Is that how you see me?"
"It seems President Leng doesn't understand me at all," Yan Zhi said softly, her tone nonchalant.
Leng Linli's face was gloomy. From the side, his profile was like jade, his eyebrows were lowered, and his eyes contained an unconcealable gloom.
The car fell into a cold silence, the atmosphere tense and frozen.
Yan Zhi didn't want to argue with Leng Linli anymore, so she turned her head to look out the window and closed her eyes to rest.
Leng Linli's gloomy demeanor continued into the next day.
We had agreed to eat lunch together at the cafeteria, but as lunchtime approached, Su Rao had a project that was originally scheduled to be signed in the afternoon, but her boss was flying abroad that afternoon, so the time was changed to noon.
Su Rao rushed off to work, so Yan Zhi had to eat in the cafeteria by herself.
After the food was served, Zhang Ni and Lin Keren from the sales department affectionately took Yan Zhi's arms on either side, and just like that, Yan Zhi was carried to the dining table by the two of them.
"Secretary Yan, have some shrimp!" Zhang Ni said with a smile as she put a shrimp on Yan Zhi's plate.
"Thank you, Nini, but my skin has been a bit allergic these past few days, and the doctor said I can't eat fish or shrimp." Yan Zhi smiled politely and returned the shrimp to Zhang Ni's plate.
"Then have a chicken leg."
"No...no...thank you..."
Just as Yan Zhi was about to refuse, Lin Keren quickly placed the chicken leg on Yan Zhi's plate. Yan Zhi looked at the extra chicken leg on her plate and was both amused and exasperated.
"You can eat chicken legs even if you have an allergy, Secretary Yan, don't be shy!" Lin Keren blinked her big, bright eyes at Yan Zhi.
"Thank you!" Yan Zhi said with a smile.
Seeing this, Lin Keren smiled and said, "Hey, no need for formalities between us. Secretary Yan, what else would you like to eat? Zhang Ni and I will go get it."
"No need, I'm really not hungry," Yan Zhi explained helplessly.
"Even if you're not hungry, you have to eat! Eat more!" Lin Keren said with a smile, and as she spoke, she put another piece of braised pork into Yan Zhi's bowl.
"Keren, you eat, I'm almost full." Yan Zhizhen couldn't resist the friendliness from Zhang Ni and Lin Keren, wondering what they were trying to get out of her this time.
"Then have some soup first!" Zhang Ni handed a bowl of pork rib soup to Yan Zhi's lips, almost feeding it into her mouth.
Yan Zhi waved her hand, pushing the soup away from herself a little: "I'm really not thirsty."
"Have a sip, Secretary Yan... okay?" Zhang Ni said coquettishly.
"Okay... thank you!" Unable to refuse the two beauties' earnest concern, Yan Zhi had no choice but to take the bowl and gulp it down.
Lin Keren and Zhang Ni exchanged a glance, smiled, and occasionally picked up a piece of food to eat.
Yan Zhi lowered her head and focused on drinking her soup when Zhang Ni suddenly asked in a low voice, "Secretary Yan, have you seen Mrs. Leng in the president's office?"
Yan Zhi almost choked when she heard the words "Mrs. Leng".
There must be something fishy about this sudden wave of affection between colleagues.
So you wanted to gossip about Mrs. Leng...
Or did they discover something?
Yan Zhi chuckled dryly and calmly took a sip of soup: "Never seen it before."
"You're in the CEO's office, always with President Leng, haven't you seen him before?" Zhang Ni asked.
Yan Zhi smiled faintly and shook her head.
Zhang Ni and Lin Keren looked at each other, both with a hint of disappointment in their eyes.
"Even you haven't met Mrs. Leng, and no photos of her have been leaked. It seems that Mr. Leng has never taken her to high-end places," Lin Keren said thoughtfully.
Yan Zhi smiled without saying a word. She actually hoped that she wouldn't have to go to any high-end places with Leng Linli for the next twenty days...
"Mr. Leng and Mrs. Leng are secretly married and have never had a wedding... He has never brought her to the company. Could it be that Mr. Leng doesn't love Mrs. Leng...?" Zhang Ni reasoned, gradually covering her mouth as she uttered words that startled herself.
"You guessed right every time," Yan Zhi smiled faintly, offering no rebuttal.
Lin Keren was also stunned for a moment, then nodded in agreement: "Your analysis makes a lot of sense!"
Yan Zhi shushed, "Shh! The leaders' affairs are not for us to discuss. We don't need to know so much."
Zhang Ni and Lin Keren also shushed each other, then lowered their voices and continued gossiping: "Could she be a nominal Mrs. Leng?"
Yan Zhi watched as the two men continued their analysis after their initial jeers, and smiled helplessly.
Lin Keren whispered, "What Mrs. Leng? Mr. Leng didn't even have a wedding, so he just doesn't love her."
Yan Zhi ate her meal, ignoring their conversation, and smiled silently.
"Is that right, Secretary Yan?"
Yan Zhi, who didn't want to join, was suddenly tagged again.
Yan Zhi had no choice but to join in, and she nodded and smiled, "Right..."
But what can be done...? She's the Mrs. Leng that Zhang Ni and Lin Ke talk about, the one whom CEO Leng doesn't love...
The unloved, aloof Mrs. Leng was sitting right in front of them, listening to them gossip about her...
"I don't love my cold wife?" A deep, sharp male voice suddenly rang in everyone's ears.
Hearing the sound, everyone raised their heads and looked in the direction of the sound. They saw Leng Linli standing behind Zhang Nilin and Ke Ren. His face was as cold and aloof as an ice sculpture, his thin lips were slightly pursed, and his eyes were deep and dark.
