Before Leng Linli could finish speaking, Yan Zhi interrupted him: "I'm not angry."
Why did Leng Linli think she was angry?
Yan Zhi raised her eyes and calmly looked at Leng Linli.
Yan Zhi's indifferent expression caused Leng Linli's brows to furrow involuntarily.
“Mr. Leng, you should be able to tell that I am completely at ease when I'm with you, not playing hard to get as you claim.” Yan Zhi stated her position and turned to leave Leng Linli’s office.
Yan Zhi went to throw away the lunchbox, and Bai Lian quickly followed, sarcastically saying, "Didn't you say you were going to resign? When are you finally leaving?"
Upon hearing this, Yan Zhi smiled slightly and said calmly, "As for when I'm leaving, Assistant Bai might as well ask President Leng when he'll let me go."
Bai Lian retorted angrily, "Don't think I can't see through you. Your resignation is just a ploy to lure me in!"
Yan Zhi continued to smile, her voice calm: "Assistant Bai wants me to leave so much because Assistant Bai also likes President Leng, right?"
Yan Zhi used an affirmative sentence.
When Yan Zhi exposed her secret, Bai Lian's face turned deathly pale. Her attempts to explain were futile: "...What nonsense are you talking about!"
Yan Zhi bent down gently, leaned close to Bai Lian's ear, and whispered with a smile, "Leng Linli has already told me what your relationship is. As for your feelings for Leng Linli, what do you think would happen if he found out? If you don't want him to know, I advise Assistant Bai to appear in front of me less often, otherwise it's not impossible that I might accidentally let it slip."
"You...you're threatening me!" Bai Lian trembled with anger.
"Then let's see how Assistant Bai interprets it." Yan Zhi smiled, straightened up, and didn't want to get entangled with Bai Lian anymore, leaving the pale-faced Bai Lian standing there.
Bai Lian likes Leng Linli. Leng Linli can't see it, but Yan Zhi can't possibly not see it. After so many times, Bai Lian's inexplicable disgust is understandable. Before Leng Linli revealed it, Bai Lian's hostility was somewhat understandable. Now that Leng Linli and Bai Lian are not lovers, Bai Lian still hates her so much. There can only be one reason: Bai Lian also likes Leng Linli.
Yan Zhi shook her head and quickened her pace. She had no desire to get involved in Bai Lian and Leng Linli's messy affairs.
The final draft of the collaboration, which had been confirmed by Leng Linli, had only been printed halfway when Chief Secretary Tang Xiaoxiao rushed in.
"Secretary Yan, Mr. Zhuang from Huasheng has arrived. He said he knows you and specifically asked you to come and receive him," Tang Xiaoxiao explained.
Yan Zhi frowned, unsure of Zhuang Yan's motive for calling her out, and asked, "Could you wait a moment? I still have a few pages to print."
Tang Xiaoxiao looked around. Only Bai Lian was at her workstation, and it seemed that she didn't have anything important to do.
"Assistant Bai has been with us for a while now. Secretary Yan, hand over your current tasks to Assistant Bai and come with me first." Tang Xiaoxiao assigned the tasks in an unquestionable manner, yet her tone revealed a hint of earnestness.
“Okay…” Yan Zhi thought for a moment and then agreed.
"Assistant Bai, could you please help me organize and print the last dozen or so pages? The ones on the left are for the signing ceremony later, and please shred the documents on the right. Thank you," Yan Zhi said to Bai Lian before leaving the office with Tang Xiaoxiao.
"Okay." Bai Lian's gentle voice rang out, but a wicked glint appeared in her eyes.
Ten minutes later, at the signing ceremony, the final draft that Bai Lian delivered to the conference room was completely different from what Yan Zhi wanted!
What was sent was the one Yan Zhi had ordered to be shredded; all that was left were some discarded blueprints!
While everyone was distracted, Yan Zhi discreetly collected the final draft from the table, as if to pour water. Holding the final draft, she pulled Bai Lian out of the meeting room.
Once outside, Yan Zhi, holding the final draft, confronted Bai Lian, getting straight to the point: "Assistant Bai, could you please explain what happened?"
There were other colleagues outside. Bai Lian's expression changed slightly, and a trace of panic flashed across her face: "Is something wrong, Secretary Yan? I did exactly what you instructed."
Bai Lian lowered her head, looking pitiful, and with one sentence, she shifted all the blame onto Yan Zhi.
"What's going on?" A cold and indifferent voice came from the doorway. He had seen Yan Zhi collecting the manuscript.
Upon hearing this, Bai Lian immediately stood up straight, looked up to meet Leng Linli's cold and sharp gaze, and explained in a low voice, "Brother, I really did do as Secretary Yan instructed. It must be because I'm too stupid that I failed to meet Secretary Yan's requirements."
Require?
How dare Bai Lian say that the requirements are not met!
Yan Zhi looked at Bai Lian, her gaze growing colder: "Are you sure I told you to do this?"
Bai Lian feigned panic, then calmly retorted, "Of course! Secretary Yan, why are you framing me?"
Those who wrongly accuse you often know best how wronged you are. Yan Zhi stared at Bai Lian, then suddenly chuckled softly, "Since that's the case..."
Yan Zhi looked at Leng Linli and said calmly, "Mr. Leng, I suggest checking the surveillance footage; that should give us the answer. Now, please buy me ten minutes."
Bai Lian sneered inwardly. What could she possibly do in ten minutes? Yan Zhi wouldn't be thinking of reprinting, would she?
Bai Lian was secretly pleased and gloating. She had already deleted the documents on the computer. No matter how capable Yan Zhi was, how could she salvage the situation now?
Leng Linli asked in a deep, cold voice, "What do you plan to do?"
Yan Zhi replied calmly, "I have a backup on my phone."
"Okay." Leng Linli glanced at Bai Lian with his deep and sharp eyes, then turned and re-entered the conference room.
