Chapter 49 If I Touch You Tonight

Shi Wan paused for a moment, then smiled. Not wanting to refuse her elder's good intentions, she picked up the juice, took a sip, and praised, "It really is quite delicious."

"If you like it, drink more!" Gu Wenchang grinned from ear to ear and refilled Shi Wan's cup, looking smug.

The dinner party didn't last long, and everyone went home afterwards.

On her way home that evening, she felt increasingly unwell. She felt dizzy, hot, and unsteady on her feet, as if she were walking on cotton. She took out her phone to call her family to come pick her up, but the phone was dead and turned off.

A wave of dizziness washed over her, so Shi Wan had no choice but to squat down and lean against a tree trunk to rest for a while. She would go back to the clinic for a sedative injection once the dizziness subsided.

Time passed second by second, but instead of getting better, my head became increasingly dizzy, my limbs felt weak, and it felt like something was burning inside my body.

It was only late in the evening that she realized she might have been drugged!

But the people she ate with were all acquaintances from the village. Who would lay a hand on her?

There is only one outsider.

Sikong Jingyu!

Clenching her teeth, Shi Wan strained to stay awake and tried to walk towards her home. But no matter how hard she tried, her legs were weak and she couldn't walk fast. Her body felt hot, as if it were burning.

The medicine is amazing!

Shi Wan was panting heavily, feeling like she was about to lose her mind. Her body was burning hot, and it felt like a ball of flame was stuffed into her chest, scorching her skin.

Shi Wan bit her lip until it bled, and the stinging pain gradually brought her back to her senses. She staggered toward the clinic, but after only a couple of steps, her body went limp and she fell straight to the ground!

Shi Wan lay on the ground, her mind growing increasingly blurry. She tried to get up and walk forward again, but she had no strength at all. Finally, everything went black.

Sikong Jingyu was taking a shower when there was a series of knocks on the door. He wrapped himself in a bath towel, casually dried his wet hair, and went to open the door.

No one could be seen through the peephole. Sikong Jingyu slightly opened the door, and a body was sitting and leaning against the crack in the doorway, stumbling in unsteadily. The clothes were the same ones Shi Wan had worn when they parted after dinner.

Sikong Jingyu frowned and pulled the door wider.

Just as Shi Wan was about to fall to the ground, Sikong Jingyu caught her in time. Upon closer inspection, he found that Shi Wan was unconscious, with flushed cheeks, rapid breathing, and burning hot skin. It was clear that she was not a normal drunk person, especially since she hadn't touched a drop of alcohol at the table.

Sikong Jingyu frowned, bent down and knelt on the ground, picked Shi Wan up horizontally and carried her to the bedside.

"Wanwan... Wanwan..." Sikong Jingyu placed Shiwan on the large bed, tucked the stray hairs from her forehead behind her ear with his long fingers, and called out softly.

As she drifted off to sleep, she vaguely sensed someone speaking. She struggled to open her eyes and, through the haze, could see a handsome face. She blinked, but couldn't focus, so she turned to the side.

"Wanwan....."

Sikong Jingyu frowned, lowered his eyes, and looked tenderly at the person on the bed, his eyes filled with worry.

"...It hurts..." Shi Wan's meow-like voice was intermittent, her small hands clutching the thin blanket tightly.

It felt as if a surge of heat was gushing out from somewhere in her body, and it felt as if a million insects were gnawing at her inside, making her extremely uncomfortable!

Shi Wan rolled over and moved closer to a cool spot beside her. Perhaps Sikong Jingyu had just finished showering and was feeling cool, which was exactly the place Shi Wan had been looking for to cool down. Shi Wan moved closer to him and rubbed against him.

Her lips brushed against Sikong Jingyu's lips.

“...Uh...Wanwan!” Sikong Jingyu gasped, her voice hoarse, and her body reacted quickly.

Is Shi Wan testing his self-control?

But he didn't feel that way about her at all!

Sikong Jingyu kissed Shi Wan's forehead soothingly, trying to pull her away. Shi Wan opened her hazy eyes and stared blankly at the person in front of her. Then, she kissed Sikong Jingyu's lips.

Things quickly spiraled out of control. The moment the kiss landed, Sikong Jingyu lost control, his lips lingering on Shi Wan's.

"If I touch you tonight, will you blame me?"

There was no response.

"...It hurts...it hurts so much..." Shi Wan mumbled in a daze, her voice soft and delicate. Si Kong Jingyu's Adam's apple bobbed, and his eyes darkened.

He leaned down slightly and kissed Shi Wan's red lips again.

His kisses were too passionate and wild for Shi Wan to bear. She wrapped her arms around his neck and tilted her head back to meet his kisses.

This reaction was practically an invitation, which made Sikong Jingyu even more frantic.

Their breaths mingled, and gradually, kissing alone was no longer enough for Sikong Jingyu. He could hardly contain his desire and was eager to possess the person in his arms!

On his way home, Gu Wenchang ran into Sun Honglin, who had just returned home from the office. Gu Wenchang was extremely excited about the good deed he had done that day.

"What's making you so happy?" Sun Honglin couldn't help but ask, seeing Gu Wenchang's excited and smug face.

"The investment is absolutely settled. At the dinner table, Mr. Sikong seemed to care a lot about our Wan'er. I did him a favor and just took her to his room." As he said this, Gu Wenchang's tone revealed a strong sense of pride, and he smiled wickedly.

Sun Honglin's expression changed, and he threw a punch. Gu Wenchang was caught off guard and took the punch squarely to the chin. He clutched the sore spot and said defiantly, "I clearly did something that was beneficial to the whole village, why did you hit me!"

Sun Honglin was furious: "How could you, a village cadre, do such a thing? Putting aside the fact that you are a village cadre, you have watched Wan Ya'er grow up since she was a child. You beast, you have simply ruined Wan Ya'er! You come with me now and bring Wan Ya'er out. If you can't bring Wan Ya'er out tonight, I'll expose what you've done."

Gu Wenchang was severely scolded. He had thought that Sun Honglin would stand by him, but he didn't expect that Sun would expose this matter. After weighing the pros and cons, Gu Wenchang realized that he had made a mistake and quickly admitted his mistake: "Old Sun, I made a mistake because I was trying to make an investment. We will go to find Mr. Sikong now."

Sun Honglin glared at him, and the two of them rushed to Sikong Jingyu's residence one after the other. Gu Wenchang's face was becoming increasingly anxious. "Just now, I left Wan'er at the door! Where is she now!"

"Oh no!" The two exchanged a glance and knocked on the door urgently.

It took a long time before the door was opened.

As soon as the door opened, Sun Honglin and Gu Wenchang, carrying fruit, pretended to be delivering fruit to Sikong Jingyu. They eagerly squeezed into the room, their eyes darting around. Finally, they found Shi Wan on Sikong Jingyu's bed.

Her hair was half-dry, as if she had just taken a shower, and she seemed to be asleep, restless, and uneasy.

Sun Honglin and Gu Wenchang both looked at Sikong Jingyu. He was wearing a bath towel around his waist and water droplets were still on his body, as if he had just come out of the shower.

Sun Honglin and Gu Wenchang's expressions changed. They had even taken a bath. Were they... already too late?
