Chapter 9 Counterattack

Sikong Jingyu curled his lips, his expression casual and nonchalant: "For example, me."

Regardless of what she was chasing, Sikong Jingyu was truly a scoundrel at this moment.

It was Sikong Jingyu who started cursing himself, no wonder Shi Wan continued to curse him.

Shi Wan's lips curved into a barely perceptible smile of sarcasm: "Mr. Sikong, has anyone ever told you that you are very confident?"

"You're the first person who dares to talk to me like this. Shouldn't I, Sikong Jingyu, be confident?" he replied casually, brimming with confidence.

Oh......

Later that night, my stomach hurt even more, as if I was angry.

Overwhelmed by the pain, Shi Wan couldn't help but gag again.

She pressed her hand against her stomach, her brow furrowed, looking very uncomfortable.

Upon seeing this, Sikong Jingyu lowered his eyes slightly, his expression becoming more serious, and his tone lowered: "Did you take your medicine or not? Answer me directly."

Shi Wan clutched her chest, panting for a long time before calming down.

She took a deep breath, looked up at Sikong Jingyu, and a hint of mockery flashed in her eyes: "Mr. Sikong, as I just said, I have my period. You are an adult and should know what it means for a woman to have her period."

At 25, I'm at the perfect age to start menstruating. Why would I choose to get pregnant at such a wonderful age? Due to the contract, I had to hold back these thoughts.

"I've never heard of anyone saying that menstruation causes morning sickness." Sikong Jingyu's voice carried a slightly mocking coldness.

Morning sickness...

There was a moment when I felt really helpless. How treacherous are the wealthy families? I thought that if I vomited, it must be morning sickness!

She was just suffering from menstrual cramps that made her feel nauseous and vomit.

That's all.

Shi Wan forced a smile: "Mr. Sikong, please rest assured, this is just a gastrointestinal reaction caused by menstrual cramps, not pregnancy. We were just... If I were pregnant now, it definitely wouldn't be yours." (I can't blame you!)

Shi Wan still had concerns, fearing that angering Sikong Jingyu would cause problems with the contract, so she held back her words once again.

Sikong Jingyu glanced away and snorted coldly, "I don't want to one day be favored by a woman with ulterior motives because of my child."

call......

With the divorce imminent, and since Sikong Jingyu didn't believe her, Shi Wan didn't want any unnecessary entanglements in the future, so she decided to go all the way and resolve the matter once and for all.

"If you're still worried..." Shi Wan opened her bag, pulled out a medicine box, tore off the plastic seal, took out a pill, and resolutely swallowed it in front of Sikong Jingyu.

"Now, there's no such thing as a mother gaining status through her son. Mr. Sikong, you might as well go home and get some sleep; it's getting late."

I thought I could stop taking that birth control pill when my period started... It was fate.

Well, let's just say it's like an oral contraceptive to relieve menstrual cramps. Theoretically, it should work, but... I wish her good luck.

When Sikong Jingyu saw the words on the outer packaging of the medicine box, his face instantly turned ugly.

"Mr. Sikong should know that emergency contraception is effective for 72 hours. Now you can rest assured. We probably won't have any more opportunities to meet after this. If, unfortunately, we do encounter..."

Sikong Jingyu, his face cold, wondered what other hurtful things this woman might say, and asked, "How so?"

Shi Wan looked up, her face slightly tired and weak, and smiled faintly: "I will take a detour."

Sikong Jingyu's cold face darkened. He bit his cheek and said in a chilling tone, "That would be best. I hope your actions match your backbone."

Shi Wan smiled faintly: "Like Mr. Sikong, I am also very confident in my integrity."

"you!"

Sikong Jingyu clenched his fists; it had been a long time since he had been cornered to the point of wanting to kill someone!

Since she's so strong-willed, she absolutely must keep her word, otherwise, don't blame him for looking down on her.

Stepping out of the Beauty Residence, Sikong Jingyu caught a glimpse of Shi Yu squatting on the ground. Out of humanitarian considerations, he originally intended to take her to the hospital.

But since she still had the strength to argue with him, it meant she wasn't in as much pain as he thought, so why should he go to such lengths to get her?

Let her suffer the pain.

Sikong Jingyu scoffed, full of arrogance: "What's the point of me bothering with your worthless life?"

Shi Wan bit her lip and smiled slightly: "My life is worthless, so there's no need for Mr. Sikong to trouble himself."

Sikong Jingyu turned and left, leaving Shi Wan alone in the same spot.

"Young lady, why are you slumped on the ground? Are you feeling unwell?" asked an elderly sanitation worker passing by, her eyes filled with concern.

Shi Wan forced a smile and said to the old woman, "It's nothing... I just walked too fast and my stomach hurt."

"Look at your face, it's all pale from the pain. Should I take you to the hospital?" the old woman asked.

"Thank you, Grandma. I feel much better now. You can go about your business."

Shi Wan slowly stood up and went back to the hospital's public rental housing. On the way, she was filled with many thoughts.

She was in so much pain in her stomach that she was almost rolling on the ground, but her husband, fearing she might be pregnant with his child, kept pestering her and didn't ask her once if she was feeling unwell.

Although Shi Wan never expected her nominal husband to take her to the hospital, Si Kong Jingyu not only didn't help, but also made her stomach hurt even more.

Instead, a passerby offered warmth.

Someone like Sikong Jingyu, who has no compassion or empathy, how desperate must Shi Wan be to secretly give birth to his child? This kind of blessing should be given to someone else; she can't afford it.

In the four years of marriage alone, apart from Grandma Sikong's genuine love for her, there was really nothing else for Shi Wan to cherish.

Shi Wan will always remember Grandma Sikong's kindness and will repay her in other ways in the future.
