Chapter 104 Nan Chen is Injured

Shen Yanxi's voice choked with sobs, and she couldn't utter a single complete sentence.

He Lingchuan remembered Shen Yanxi as calm and composed, never having shown such vulnerability.

He was filled with anxiety and arrived at school as quickly as possible.

As soon as the door was opened, Nan Chen was seen with blood on the corner of his mouth. He stared at the person opposite him with his big eyes, looking very fierce.

Nan Chen, hands on his hips, oblivious to He Lingchuan, shouted, "I hit them because they talked nonsense, they deserved it."

Bei Chen stood next to Nan Chen, who appeared to be unharmed. He Lingchuan breathed a sigh of relief and quickly walked over to the two children.

Hearing footsteps, Shen Yanxi quickly turned around. The moment she saw He Lingchuan, she pouted and almost burst into tears.

Why did it take you so long to get here?

He Lingchuan frowned. As soon as he walked over, Shen Yanxi grabbed his hand and leaned against him, crying, "Look at what this child did to Nan Chen! He Lingchuan, didn't you notice anything wrong when you took them to school this morning?"

Shen Yanxi only found out today that these children had been bullying them all along. Nan Chen and Bei Chen were sensible and didn't want to worry, so they kept quiet.

If they hadn't gotten into a fight at school today, Shen Yanxi would still be completely unaware of what was happening to her two children.

He Lingchuan squatted down and casually shook off Shen Yanxi's hand.

He looked at Nan Chen with a gentle expression: "Nan Chen, tell Dad, why did you fight with your classmate?"

He Lingchuan's voice was gentle, and Nan Chen's lips drooped, his eyes were downcast, and he looked very aggrieved.

Since he remained silent, He Lingchuan had no choice but to change his target. He looked at Bei Chen, who was standing to the side, and patiently asked, "Bei Chen, why don't you tell Daddy?"

Bei Chen glanced at the wound on Nan Chen's lip and said indignantly, "They said we don't have a father, they said our father doesn't want us anymore."

"Brother, stop talking."

Nan Chen clearly didn't want them to know, and fearing he would worry, he quickly covered Bei Chen's mouth.

Upon hearing his words, He Lingchuan's expression immediately darkened.

He looked at the teachers with a cold expression: "Are you aware of this?"

The teacher looked at He Lingchuan somewhat awkwardly and awkwardly made up an excuse: "The children are just joking, don't take it seriously."

"Don't take it seriously? Nan Chen got into a fight for the first time because of this, and you're telling me not to take it seriously?"

Nan Chen wouldn't have made a move unless he was truly forced into a corner.

He Lingchuan looked coldly at the people standing in front of him: "You have to give me an explanation."

The teacher looked at him helplessly: "Nan Chen's parents, I can understand your feelings, but the problem is that Nan Chen also hit someone else's child, and the other parents have taken their child to the hospital for a check-up. I'm afraid this explanation isn't so easy to accept."

Understanding the implication in her words, He Lingchuan turned to Shen Yanxi and asked, "How badly is that child injured? Did you see him?"

Shen Yanxi finally calmed down. She frowned and said sharply, "That child wasn't injured at all. Which parent is making a mountain out of a molehill?"

She looked at Nan Chen and then remembered to take him to the hospital.

Shen Yanxi grabbed He Lingchuan's hand: "Did you drive here?"

"No."

He Lingchuan was in a great hurry, and the parking lot was far away, so he had no choice but to take a taxi.

"It's too late to call a driver now."

Shen Yanxi couldn't help but complain to He Lingchuan: "You knew the child was injured, why didn't you drive over?"

"I already told you I was anxious."

The two started bickering again. He Lingchuan squatted down to briefly examine the wound on Nan Chen's lip, thankfully it wasn't serious.

He looked at the teacher: "Do you have a first-aid kit?"

Considering Nan Chen's weak health, He Lingchuan was worried about the child getting infected and wanted to treat him simply first.

Just as the teacher brought the first-aid kit over, he heard Zhou Mingyan's voice: "Why aren't you going to the hospital to get the first-aid kit at a time like this?"

Zhou Mingyan, holding the car keys in his hand and panting, looked at Shen Yanxi and said, "Xixi, why didn't you tell me immediately when this happened?"

He had just heard from other classmates that He Lingchuan had gone to school, so he immediately called Nan Chen and Bei Chen's teachers and learned that they had been beaten up at school.

He ran over immediately, still puzzled on the way as to why Shen Yanxi would call He Lingchuan.

He watched as Shen Yanxi subconsciously moved closer to He Lingchuan, and the expression on his face became increasingly solemn.

Shen Yanxi was a little embarrassed: "I forgot, I was just thinking of having the child's father come over."

People do become confused when they are in a hurry.

Zhou Mingyan pursed his lips, suppressing his dissatisfaction: "You can just tell me next time. Look at him, he doesn't even drive. He doesn't care about the children at all."

Shen Yanxi was initially touched by He Lingchuan's prompt arrival, but now she felt that Zhou Mingyan's words made sense, and she joined him in criticizing He Lingchuan: "Who knows what he was thinking? I already told him that the child was being bullied, and he still came alone. Didn't he even think about what would happen if the child got hurt?"

He Lingchuan glanced at the people around him, too lazy to argue with them.

He took the first-aid kit from the teacher and was about to apply medicine to Nan Chen when Zhou Mingyan grabbed his wrist: "He Lingchuan, I've already driven all this way, why are you still applying medicine? Hurry up and take the child to the hospital."

Zhou Mingyan glared at him angrily, his face growing increasingly somber. He walked over to He Lingchuan, intending to snatch the child away.

He Lingchuan held Nan Chen in his arms with great vigilance and asked him angrily, "Don't touch him."

Zhou Mingyan was startled by his shout. Just as he was about to speak, he heard Shen Yanxi speak up for him: "He Lingchuan, what's wrong with you? The most important thing now is to get the child to the hospital. Give the child to me."

He Lingchuan glanced at Shen Yanxi's outstretched hand and slapped it down. He calmed down and carefully wiped the blood off Nan Chen's face with gauze: "Let me treat the wound simply first."

Zhou Mingyan snatched the gauze from He Lingchuan's hand and threw it on the ground. He deliberately showed off in front of Shen Yanxi, stomping his feet in frustration, "Stop dawdling! Are you even the child's father?"

He Lingchuan held out his hand: "Give me the car keys."

"You just need to hold the baby."

Zhou Mingyan refused to hand over the car keys, and He Lingchuan was too lazy to argue with him. Urged by Shen Yanxi, he had no choice but to get into the car with the child first.

Before leaving, he also took the school's first-aid kit.

Shen Yanxi, holding Bei Chen in the passenger seat, kept berating He Lingchuan, her heart filled with anger: "With your condition, you actually want to bring the child with you? You're not even as good as Mingyan. I think we should just let Mingyan be the child's father."

He Lingchuan listened to Shen Yanxi's scolding without changing his expression. Instead, he used gauze soaked in iodine to gently wipe the wound on Nan Chen's face.
