Shen Yanxi was stunned for a moment, then chased after Zhou Mingyan.
She searched the entire company but couldn't find Zhou Mingyan.
Shen Yanxi grabbed the arm of the person next to her anxiously: "Have you seen Zhou Mingyan?"
Everyone in the company shook their heads. Shen Yanxi was extremely anxious and didn't care about anything else, so she rampaged around the company.
He Lingchuan followed behind her, searching for Zhou Mingyan's figure. When they passed the conference room, He Lingchuan vaguely saw a familiar figure.
From a distance, the figure appeared massive and imposing, looking around.
He Lingchuan stopped in his tracks and pushed open the door to enter.
Hearing the voice behind him, Zhou Mingyan was startled. He was full of anticipation, but what he saw was He Lingchuan.
Are you disappointed?
He Lingchuan leaned against the wall, a half-smile playing on his lips: "Are you... going to jump off the building?"
He Lingchuan raised an eyebrow: "Chen Yanxi hasn't arrived yet, and I won't tell anyone. If you want to end your life now, you'd better hurry up."
He Lingchuan deliberately lowered his voice, as if afraid that others would hear him.
He approached Zhou Mingyan, deliberately provoking him: "If you jump off here, Shen Yanxi might actually believe that this has nothing to do with you."
"You, you don't force me. Do you believe I really will jump?"
"Jump! I'm waiting."
He Lingchuan raised his chin, crossed his hands over his chest, and waited to watch the show.
Zhou Mingyan waved his arms and muttered repeatedly, "You, you don't force me, I really will jump."
He hesitated to make a move, glancing towards the door every now and then, his expression growing increasingly anxious.
"Who are you waiting for? Shen Yanxi?"
He Lingchuan saw through his intentions at a glance. He snorted coldly, having already anticipated that Zhou Mingyan was putting on an act.
He turned and left without hesitation.
He Lingchuan turned around and almost bumped into Shen Yanxi. Just as he was about to speak, Shen Yanxi ran past him and towards Zhou Mingyan.
She looked anxious, her eyes filled with heartache and worry as she looked at Zhou Mingyan: "Mingyan, what are you doing? Don't do anything foolish, come down quickly."
Zhou Mingyan caught a glimpse of the person behind him out of the corner of his eye and knew what was going on.
He shouted, "Xixi, I'll do anything as long as you believe in me."
He made a move to jump down, and seeing his appearance, Shen Yanxi panicked: "Mingyan, don't do anything stupid! Come down, come down and I'll do whatever you say."
"You don't believe me."
Zhou Mingyan looked aggrieved, his brows furrowed, and his eyes were full of sorrow as he looked at Shen Yanxi.
Shen Yanxi was so nervous that she was incoherent. She was worried that Zhou Mingyan would really jump down, and even more worried that he would do something stupid: "How could I not believe you? Mingyan, I beg you, please come down, I will never doubt you again, okay?"
"Really?"
Zhou Mingyan's eyes were full of expectation: "You really want to believe me?"
To get him down quickly, Shen Yanxi nodded hastily: "I'll do anything you ask as long as you come down."
He Lingchuan stood behind the two of them, witnessing everything.
How could Shen Yanxi not know that Zhou Mingyan was faking it? She knows Zhou Mingyan so well, how could she not know what this man was thinking?
She cooperated with Zhou Mingyan's act, preferring to coax him rather than expose him. What else could it be but love?
He Lingchuan chuckled self-deprecatingly and began to applaud: "What a loving couple! Zhou Mingyan, you really should become an actor. It's such a waste of your time to be Shen Yanxi's mistress."
Shen Yanxi frowned, afraid that He Lingchuan would provoke Zhou Mingyan again, and said in an unhappy tone: "What nonsense are you talking about? Get out of here, we'll talk about this later."
“There’s nothing to talk about between us. Starting today, you’ll go back and live with Zhou Mingyan, and I’ll live with the children.”
Shen Yanxi has already made her choice, and there is no need for him to try to stop her.
Upon hearing He Lingchuan's words, Shen Yanxi's face instantly darkened: "He Lingchuan, Mingyan has already been forced into a corner by you, what else do you want to do?"
He Lingchuan spread his hands, looking helpless: "I didn't do anything."
Shen Yanxi stared at his departing figure, wanting to say something, but then she heard a painful cry from Zhou Mingyan's direction.
When Shen Yanxi turned around, Zhou Mingyan was holding onto the window with one hand, half of his body even hanging outside the window, teetering on the verge of falling.
"Mingyan? Don't do anything foolish."
Shen Yanxi paid no attention to He Lingchuan, fearing that Zhou Mingyan would get hurt.
She jogged over and grabbed Zhou Mingyan's hand, her cheeks flushed red.
"Mingyan, hang in there."
Zhou Mingyan reached out his other hand and grabbed the window, veins bulging on his neck.
Shen Yanxi didn't care about anything else and turned around to call He Lingchuan: "He Lingchuan, come and help me quickly. Are you going to just watch Mingyan die?"
He Lingchuan had been standing at the door. When he heard Shen Yanxi call him, he walked slowly to her side.
He leaned out and glanced at the steps a meter away, then said coldly, "Don't worry, he won't die."
Even if you do fall, the worst you'll get is a broken bone.
Zhou Mingyan chose a very good spot. If Shen Yanxi didn't trust him, he could have jumped right off without suffering any physical harm.
Upon hearing He Lingchuan's words, Shen Yanxi's lips immediately fell into a smile: "He Lingchuan, do you have no heart? How can you be so heartless?"
Shen Yanxi felt like her arm was about to dislocate, and she held on to Zhou Mingyan with all her might.
Her palms were sweaty as she felt Zhou Mingyan slowly sliding down. Shen Yanxi's eyes widened, but Zhou Mingyan resolutely pushed her hand away: "Xixi, don't worry about me."
Zhou Mingyan looked at Shen Yanxi with eyes full of pain. Before falling, he left his last words: "Xixi, I will always love you. I really didn't hurt your child."
Within seconds, He Lingchuan opened his arms, his body fell face-first to the ground.
Shen Yanxi opened her mouth wide, looking at the blood flowing all over the ground. Her face turned pale, and she took two steps back, almost unable to stand.
He Lingchuan held her shoulder, his tone indifferent: "Call an ambulance, she probably has a fracture."
"He Lingchuan, you're a madman."
Shen Yanxi, for some unknown reason, pounded on He Lingchuan's shoulder with all her might: "If anything happens to Mingyan, I will never let you off the hook."
Shen Yanxi pinned all the blame on He Lingchuan. He Lingchuan looked at Shen Yanxi with a puzzled expression, spread his hands, and said helplessly, "Get this straight, he wanted to jump off the building himself. What does that have to do with me? Besides, he fell onto the platform below and will be fine."
"What if something goes wrong? Who will take responsibility?"
Shen Yanxi looked aggrieved: "If something happens to him, I'll..."
How about you?
He Lingchuan squinted at her: "You don't want to live either?"
