Chapter 85 Gu Chengze deliberately caused trouble

This time, He Lingchuan fell silent.

He had considered fighting for custody before, but considering his current circumstances, he gave up.

Now that Gu Chengze said he would help him, He Lingchuan wavered a little.

Just as he was hesitating, Shen Yanxi suddenly pushed open the door, her body filled with anger and murderous intent: "I was wondering why you've been acting so strangely lately, leaving early and returning late every day, and your attitude towards me has changed drastically. So you wanted to steal my child."

Shen Yanxi strode forward, stood in front of He Lingchuan, and bent down to close the distance between them.

Shen Yanxi looked at her as if she were her enemy. Her tone was cold and serious, and her attitude was firm: "He Lingchuan, listen carefully, I will never let you take my child away."

"I didn't intend to take them away."

He Lingchuan frowned, a sense of unease creeping into his heart. He patiently explained, "I know I can't give the children a better life. Chengze and I just happened to be talking about this."

"Just happened to end our conversation here? You two really know how to have a good chat."

Shen Yanxi looked at Gu Chengze with impatience, giving him the order to leave: "Starting today, you don't need to come anymore. I will take care of He Lingchuan."

"You can't take good care of him."

Gu Chengze was no pushover either. He pushed Shen Yanxi aside, stood in front of He Lingchuan, and angrily rebuked her: "He's been injured for so long and you didn't even think of bringing him to the hospital. What are you doing here now?"

Gu Chengze didn't give Shen Yanxi a chance to speak at all, and pressed her aggressively: "Don't think I don't know what you're thinking. You came here because you're afraid of being criticized for being heartless, or maybe your mother, who is still somewhat conscientious, forced you to hire her. They're all wives, how can you be so vicious?"

Gu Chengze became more and more agitated as he spoke. He pointed at Shen Yanxi's face and slowly forced her out of the ward.

He Lingchuan raised his hand to stop him, but Gu Chengze ignored him and became increasingly outrageous.

Finally, Shen Yanxi could no longer tolerate it and called the police, who took Gu Chengze away on charges of provoking trouble.

"Shen Yanxi, don't talk nonsense."

He Lingchuan watched helplessly as Gu Chengze was taken away by the police. He roared in a low voice, only to be met with a glare from Shen Yanxi.

After the police took Gu Chengze away, Shen Yanxi walked up to He Lingchuan and said in an icy tone, "Stay away from these people in the future. What kind of cronies are they? I was wondering why you've been so disobedient these past few days, always going against me. It turns out he instigated you."

He Lingchuan snorted coldly, his eyes filled with disdain and mockery as he looked at Shen Yanxi: "My friends are bad influences, but does that mean Zhou Mingyan is a good person? He instigated you to cheat and get a divorce, and I didn't say anything. What right do you have to interfere with who I befriend?"

"He Lingchuan, don't talk nonsense. When did Mingyan ever do such a thing?"

He Lingchuan's hospital room door was not closed, and passersby outside peeked out to see what was going on.

Enraged, Shen Yanxi slammed the door shut and angrily questioned He Lingchuan, "When did Mingyan do these things? When did I cheat on him?"

She was so angry that her face turned pale, and she insisted that He Lingchuan give her an explanation.

"Does this even need proof? We're already divorced, what else do you have to say?"

"You were the one who asked for a divorce; I never agreed to it."

Shen Yanxi wanted to explain, but He Lingchuan interrupted her: "Come on, wasn't my divorce your fault? You dare to say you haven't seen Zhou Mingyan since the divorce? You dare to say you're not happy now?"

Shen Yanxi was stumped by He Lingchuan's question. She stood there, her expression growing increasingly somber.

"See? I was right."

He Lingchuan sat up, his tone cold: "Shen Yanxi, our relationship has become like this. Do you think it's necessary for us to continue seeing each other? I think Chengze is right. I should move out. Before that, I want to discuss the child with you again."

Upon hearing the word "child," Shen Yanxi immediately tensed up.

"What are you trying to do? Don't even think about taking my child away."

Shen Yanxi's eyes were filled with panic, and her anxiety was palpable: "I will not hand the child over to you."

She felt terrified after saying those words; she began to worry that her two children would actually choose him.

Especially during this period, He Lingchuan developed a very good relationship with his two children, and the two children became increasingly protective of him.

Shen Yanxi was worried that she would really lose her two children after He Lingchuan was discharged from the hospital.

He Lingchuan leaned back on the hospital bed, taking in Shen Yanxi's panicked expression.

He sighed, but in the end he couldn't bear it and relented a little: "I don't want two children either. Nan Chen or Bei Chen, you choose one. After I'm discharged from the hospital, I'll take the child and leave the Shen family."

"They are brothers, how can they be separated?"

Shen Yanxi rejected his suggestion without even thinking.

He Lingchuan gradually grew impatient. He frowned, forcibly suppressing the anger in his heart, and questioned Shen Yanxi: "Then what are you going to do? I can't possibly hand over both children to you."

Similarly, he didn't want to continue living in the Shen family's house.

Shen Yanxi lowered her head and remained silent.

After more than ten minutes, she finally spoke under He Lingchuan's questioning: "I can't hand the child over to you. If you insist on moving out, then leave. I won't stop you."

After saying the last word, Shen Yanxi stormed off in a huff.

As soon as she stepped out of the ward, she felt all the strength drain from her body.

She clenched her teeth and said fiercely, "He Lingchuan, you're ruthless."

Shen Yanxi turned her head and looked at the person inside the ward through the glass, her eyes filled with disappointment.

...

After Shen Yanxi left, He Lingchuan kept calling his friends to inquire about Gu Chengze's whereabouts.

He didn't know where Gu Chengze was now, whether he was locked up by the police or had returned to the laboratory.

After making phone calls for two or three hours, He Lingchuan finally received a call back from Gu Chengze in the early hours of the morning.

"Chengze, how are you?"

"I'm fine. These police officers have no evidence, so they'll release me naturally."

Gu Chengze spoke with anger: "Ling Chuan, I'm not trying to be mean, but what kind of wife did you find? She's completely unreasonable. If you ask me, you should move out of the Shen family as soon as possible and stop contacting that woman."

Gu Chengze had just been released from the police station. He had spent a lot of time and energy getting himself bailed out by many people.

She spoke to He Lingchuan with anger, and only realized her emotions were somewhat agitated after he finished speaking.

"Ling Chuan, actually I..."

"I was wrong about this, and I will definitely give you an explanation."

He Lingchuan spoke firmly. He and Gu Chengze chatted briefly for a few more minutes. Although Gu Chengze repeatedly explained that he did not blame him, He Lingchuan still felt very guilty.

I didn't even sleep all night.
